The Boston Globe Says Eat S***!

They are right; however, they say it in such a condescending way while ignoring their own classes greed and gluttony.

"
Every table was set with a single fresh rose (from the rose gardens outside, I was told) and a full complement of three forks, two knives, and two spoons in silver plate..... The buffet tables could have graced a high-end ocean liner. I watched a gentleman in colorful African garb pile his plate with slices of roast sirloin and potatoes mashed with feta cheese. A post-retirement-age couple from the East Side scarfed up most of the egg rolls, though more came out quickly....

I made for the roast leg of lamb with rosemary sauce after I filled my salad plate with chilled asparagus and slices of a duck and pork terrine.... fresh tomato soup and bowls of pasta primavera.... The dessert buffet table practically groaned under a spread of apple and pumpkin pies, cheesecakes, tarts, half a dozen cheeses, sliced fruits, bowls of berries, and, off to one side, three urns of ice
cream"

And that was just for LUNCH!

"It's possible to feast on a tight budget" by Steve Greenlee, Globe Staff | February 13, 2009

.... We've been feeding them fennel, chickpeas, sweet potatoes, and raw vegetables since they were in high chairs. They've never set foot in a McDonald's or a Burger King. If it's not nutritious, it's not an option.

One of our favorite cheapo meals is butternut squash lasagna. Cube and roast a whole squash, and then concoct a light cream sauce that's flavored with rosemary and garlic. Combine it all, then spread between layers of no-boil lasagna noodles, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and bake. The ingredients barely total $5, and a family of five will get leftovers for days. Put a vegetable on the side, and you still don't approach $10, and it stretches the leftovers even further....

Here are a few of our family's staples to get you started:

Macaroni and cheese: I'm not talking about that Kraft-in-a-box business. This is the real deal. Hands down, this is Liam, Aidan, and Amelia's favorite meal. Our version uses cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and milk, and we usually throw some veggies in - broccoli, peas, or whatever else is sitting and the fridge and is still a day or two away from the compost pile.

Well, I'm glad they are so fortunate as to be able to throw food away.

I'm offended by that, being down to one meal a day.

Pizza: Yes, pizza. Once you've perfected homemade pizza, you'll never again have one delivered....

Not after the peanut butter thing.
