If It's Not One Bug, It's Another

I've already expounded enough on how I think the "health care" industry actually sickens and poisons you for profit, readers.

Just keep that in mind as you read these next collection of items.

And ever see the movie "

Would you really want to know, America?

"Deadly staph infections decline in hospital ICUs" by Lindsey Tanner, Associated Press | February 18, 2009

CHICAGO - The rate of infections from a deadly strain of staph has dropped dramatically in hospital intensive-care units, a rare encouraging sign about a hard-to-treat "superbug," according to a government report....

"Drug-resistant strains of bacteria on the rise; Researchers say few antibiotics work on 4 types" by Mary Engel, Los Angeles Times | February 18, 2009

What is sad is the contradictory pieces are right next to each other in the paper. Sort of an in-your-face lie and agenda-push, 'eh, Globe?

LOS ANGELES - .... Acinetobacter doesn't garner as many headlines as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, the bacterium better known as MRSA. But a January report by the Infectious Diseases Society of America warned that drug-resistant strains of Acinetobacter baumannii and two other microbes - Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae - soon could rival MRSA's toll.

The three bugs belong to a large category of bacteria called "gram-negative" that are especially hard to fight because they are wrapped in a double membrane and harbor enzymes that chew up many antibiotics. As dangerous as MRSA is, some antibiotics can still treat it, and more are in development.

But the drugs once used to treat gram-negative bacteria are becoming ineffective, and finding effective new ones is especially challenging.

"We're literally running out of drugs to treat gram-negatives," said Dr. Brad Spellberg, an infectious disease specialist at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. "And there is nothing in the pipeline right now."

Exact numbers are hard to come by, because infections by these three bacteria are not reportable by law....

Why not? As long as there are no names attached, WTF?

A class of broad-spectrum antibiotics known as carbapenems are the drug of last resort for gram-negative bugs today.

"The carbapenems are . . . the best gram-negative drugs we have," said Dr. Helen Boucher of Tufts University, an infectious disease specialist. "These bugs have found a way to make an enzyme that dissolves these drugs. That means our best gun is ineffective."

Don't go to a hospital even if your life depends on it, Amurka!

As the drugs fail, doctors find themselves as a last resort turning to older, more toxic ones such as colistin, largely abandoned because the side effects, kidney damage, and deafness, are so severe.

Yeah, that'll "cure" ya!

At one East Coast hospital, the number of orders doctors made for colistin went from one order in 2001 to 68 in 2007, Boucher said. "This is a drug that's like poison."

And we'll prescribe it for you!

The four microbes are among the six leading causes of infections in hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare settings, the Infectious Diseases Society of America reported.

You know, one would almost think they don't want to cure anything. I mean....

"Researchers decode the common cold" by Associated Press | February 13, 2009

WASHINGTON - Scientists have unraveled the genetic code of the common cold - all 99 known strains of it, to be exact. But don't expect the feat to lead to a cure for sniffling anytime soon.

And WHY NOT?

It turns out that rhinoviruses are even more complicated than researchers thought.

Really? Even with all the time and money devoted to solving the mystery?

In fact, the genetic blueprints showed that you can catch two strains of cold at the same time - and those strains then can swap their genetic material inside your body to make a new strain.

Yeah, right.

Why do I get the feeling a WHOLE INDUSTRY of MEDICINES is AT STAKE HERE?

It's why we'll never have a vaccine for the common cold, said biochemist Ann Palmenberg of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, who led the three teams that assembled the family tree of the world's rhinoviruses.

That's okay; I don't want a VACCINATION for a COLD then!

"No vaccine, but maybe a drug," she said.

A-ha! CHA-CHING!!!!!!

Yup, NOTHING is CURED but EVERYTHING comes with a DRUG!!!

Why? The outside of these viruses - the part your body's immune system must recognize - are hugely variable, making it hard to envision a vaccine that would work against very many strains. But the inside components, what Palmenberg calls the guts of the virus, are remarkably similar from strain to strain, offering targets for therapy....

I just heard the click of a cash register, didn't you?

Yeah, and before you take that next injection or listen to government approval of some potions, consider

"Court masters deny vaccine-autism tie; Families ruled not eligible for compensation" by Shankar Vedantam, Washington Post | February 13, 2009

Truthfully, after the way the government has treated the veterans it poisoned in Vietnam and Iraq, this ruling is not surprising in the least.

WASHINGTON - Thousands of parents who alleged that childhood vaccines had caused their children to develop autism are wrong and not entitled to federal compensation, a special court ruled yesterday in three decisions with far-reaching implications in a bitterly fought medical controversy.

This just in: GOVERNMENT LIES!!!!! And WE KNOW WHY ($$$$)!!!!

The long-awaited decision on three test cases is a severe blow to a grass-roots movement that has argued - predominantly through books, magazines, and the Internet - that children's shots have been responsible for the surge in autism diagnoses in the United States in recent decades.

Once again, the PEOPLE ARE CORECT and the GOVERNMENT and AUTHORITIES are LIARS!!!!!!!

The vast majority of the scientific establishment, backed by federal health agencies, has strenuously argued that there is no link between vaccines and autism, and warned that scaring parents away from vaccinating their youngsters places children at risk for a host of serious childhood diseases....

Yeah, and I'm supposed to believe those LYING LOOTERS?

The vaccine court was set up by Congress as part of what is known as the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.

And they are NOT going to DEFY THEIR PHARMACEUTICAL MASTERS nor make the GOVERNMENT pay for POISONING KIDS!!

Didn't you know TAXPAYER DOUGH is only for BANKS, WAR-PROFITEERS, FAVORED CORPORATIONS, and ISRAEL?!!!!
