Texas Prison Protests

I know you don't like it, America, but part of the deal with rehabilitation is that the state was to care for and provide for their charges -- not torture and mistreat them.

"Texas prisoners riot for 2d time in two months

PECOS, Texas - Law enforcement authorities in West Texas were trying yesterday to restore order at a privately run federal prison where a riot broke out, the second disturbance in as many months....

The GEO Group, which runs the prison under contracts with Reeves County and the Federal Bureau of Prisons, didn't respond to calls yesterday. Prison officials could not be reached for comment....

I guess the Globe dropped it, too, because I never heard back.
