Dr. Obama Says It is Now or Never

Do you know how tired of crises every time you turn around, sir?

I'm going to be polite today and not say what I'm thinking.

"On healthcare, Obama pushes for fast action

It's now or never on healthcare, President Obama told his millions of grass-roots backers yesterday, urging them to organize and pressure their senators and representatives.

Okay:

In a call from Air Force One as he returned from a western fund-raising swing, Obama said that if Congress doesn't pass a healthcare overhaul this year, the opportunity will be lost, perhaps forever.

First of all, WTF is he doing FUND-RAISING?! The ELECTION is FOUR YEARS OUT! He JUST TOOK OVER?

Second, what was the CARBON FOOTPRINT on that and did TAXPAYERS PAY?

And WHAT is with the SCARE TACTICS, 'eh?

"If we don't get it done this year, we're not going to get it done," Obama told supporters. "The election in November, it didn't bring about change. It gave us an opportunity for change."

I heartily agree with the first statement, and as far as the second one WE ELECTED YOU to BE the CHANGE!!!!

Committee hearings - and soon thereafter votes - will start next week, as soon as lawmakers return to Washington, D.C., from a weeklong recess. Many members of Congress spent the break holding town hall meetings and other forums with their constituents about healthcare.

And we still won't get single-payer. That's if these meetings ever happened. I no longer believe it just because the MSM says it, and I can't see the anti-single-payer-plan politicians wanting to hear it.

Organizing for America, the group housed within the Democratic National Committee that is his presidential campaign from last year and his reelection campaign in waiting, plans a June 6 kickoff on healthcare with house parties across the country.

I guess that means Mom will be getting some calls and emails.

I'm glad I didn't give him any $$$.

And about that change:

"White House moves to stop release of abuse photos

WASHINGTON - The Obama administration asked a federal appeals court yesterday to halt the release of disturbing images of detainee abuse, saying the photos could incite violence in Pakistan as well as in Iraq and Afghanistan....

So does occupying them and bombing them to death.

Meanwhile, the Defense Department yesterday denied a British newspaper's report, quoting a former US general, that graphic images of US personnel sexually assaulting detainees are among the pictures.

The administration had planned to release the photos until President Obama reversed the decision this month, saying their release would endanger US troops. The photos were ordered released as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union. ACLU lawyer Amrit Singh said the new filing by the Obama administration "has no new arguments" and will be opposed....
