Democrapic Drivel on Withdrawal From Afghanistan

Oh, I'm sorry, it's a decline in escalation (huh?) we are talking about (surge of Iraq?)....

I'm just posting this so you can get a feel of the bullcrap fooleys we are fed here in AmeriKa.

At the end of the day, he'll get his troops and $$$ just like Bush, otherwise THIS THING WOULD be OVER ALREADY!!!!

"Democrats’ support of Afghanistan war ebbs; House leaders wary of any troop increase" by Lara Jakes, Associated Press | September 11, 2009

WASHINGTON - Democratic leaders in Congress urged the Obama administration yesterday to quickly produce a plan for winning the war in Afghanistan or risk widespread opposition within the president’s own party to a new troop build-up....

So? They roll liberals all the time.

“I don’t think there’s a great deal of support for sending more troops to Afghanistan in the country....’’ said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the highest-ranking Democrat to signal that a push for more troops will get a skeptical look.

Nice grasp of the obvious, Nan.

Democratic Representative John P. Murtha, chairman of the House Appropriations panel, said yesterday he might support a request if the Obama administration withdraws a significant number of the 130,000 US troops from Iraq in the very near future.

Senate majority leader Harry Reid of Nevada, however, cautioned fellow Democrats to withhold judgment until Obama decides what to do....

Translation: He'll get 'em!

The tepid support reflects growing impatience among lawmakers to see an on-the-ground assessment of the military situation in Afghanistan that was delivered to the White House last week....

Is it not their RIGHT to see the report?

Pelosi said she did not expect to be briefed on the plans until next week at the earliest. Aides said they expected Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to brief senators Tuesday and House members Wednesday....

They CAN'T SEE the WHOLE THING? Why?

The Pentagon has yet to give Obama at least two military evaluations of the on-the-ground assessment. Those reports, by Mullen and US Central Command General David Petraeus, will be delivered this week, Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said.

Oh, they must be BAD, BAD ASSESSMENTS!!!! If they were good they would have been leaked already!

At the same time, the White House is in the process of compiling a list of about 50 benchmarks to judge whether the military mission is working....

BENCHMARKS!! I thought we got CHANGE!

Pelosi said she was more interested in the benchmarks than McChrystal’s report.

In interviews this week, lawmakers said they wanted to see strong evidence that ordering more troops to the war-torn nation would dislodge insurgents from safe havens in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan. Opposition so far appears stronger among House Democratic leaders than their Senate counterparts.

“We don’t have the financial resources to sustain one long deployment, let alone two,’’ Murtha said. “There’s so much consternation in Congress about additional troops, especially without a plan. It’s going to come to a head here.’’

I've heard this before with Iraq, so pffffft!

But Ike Skelton, a Missouri Democrat who chairs the House Armed Services Committee, urged his colleagues to “give our forces the time and resources they need to show progress in the fight against the enemies responsible for the attacks of 9/11.’’

Pffft! There they go again!

THE HAGUE - The specter of Al Qaeda terrorists being harbored by insurgents in lawless areas of Afghanistan serves as a reminder to America and its allies of why the increasingly unpopular war started....

Oh, a BIG, FAT, STINKING cui bono there, huh?

Yeah, WATCH OUT for that FALSE-FLAG ATTACK, America!!!!!!

The top commander of US and international forces in Afghanistan, General Stanley McChrystal, spoke on the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States by Al Qaeda that prompted the 2001 US-led invasion of Afghanistan....

He warned that Osama bin Laden’s network still maintains contact with insurgents and seeks to use areas of Afghanistan that they control as bases....

I'm not even going to link "Al-CIA-Duh" or the dead guy today.

The invasion quickly toppled the Taliban regime that had sheltered Al Qaeda leaders who plotted the 9/11 attacks, but has since bogged down amid a deadly insurgency....

Thank you for halting the New World Order.

McChrystal said yesterday that he sees no signs of a major Al Qaeda presence in the country, but he added that the terror group still maintains close links to insurgents.

McChrystal told reporters at the Dutch Defense Ministry, where he met military officials:

I do not see indications of a large Al Qaeda presence in Afghanistan now. I do believe that Al Qaeda intends to retain those relationships because they believe it is symbiotic . . . where the Taliban has success, that provides a sanctuary from which Al Qaeda can operate transnationally.’’

That why their home base is in Langley, Virginia?
