So BILL SHATNER is going to be a SENATOR now?

Oh, sorry; wrong Kirk.

As you may have gathered, this whole process has disgusted me and turned Massachusetts' DemocraPs into a national embarrassment.

"Senate OK’s Kennedy successor bill; Governor could name interim pick tomorrow" by Matt Viser, Globe Staff | September 23, 2009

The state Senate approved a bill yesterday that would let Governor Deval Patrick appoint an interim successor to Edward M. Kennedy, paving the way for the appointment of a new US senator as early as tomorrow and providing Democrats in Washington the potential 60th vote they have been seeking to pass a health care overhaul....

News of the vote reverberated yesterday from Beacon Hill to Washington, where US Senate majority leader Harry Reid, informed of the news when a note was passed to him, pumped his fist into the air and cracked a small smile, according to an aide....

Not so fast, Harry: Senator Byrd admitted to hospital after fall

Ever think that maybe God doesn't want them to have that 60th vote?

Eleven Democrats joined all five Republicans in voting against the measure.

At this time I would like to offer a salute of respect to those Democrats on this issue.

“It’s wrong to change the rules depending on who’s in power,’’ said state Senator Brian A. Joyce, a Milton Democrat who was a key architect of the legislation to establish special elections to fill Senate vacancies in 2004. “We shouldn’t change the rules by which we govern our democracy depending upon who the governor is.’’

Well, he's just defending his baby. If this guy voted to change his own law, well, that wouldn't look too good, huh?

The Senate vote yesterday capped a furious lobbying campaign by national Democrats that began shortly after Kennedy’s death last month. Patrick said last week that President Obama spoke with him about changing the law at Kennedy’s funeral last month. White House senior adviser David Axelrod and Reid have also lobbied Massachusetts lawmakers to change the law.

Yeah, and if GEORGE BUSH had INTERFERED in Massachusetts politics like that the DEMOCRAPS in this state would have been HOWLING like a PERPETUAL FULL MOON and the Globe would be running daily articles about it.

Not that I am a fan of Bush at all; you can read those labels for yourself. I want him and his war criminal coterie in the dock and on the slab! I'm just pointing out the tremendous hypocrisy of Massachusetts DemocraPs (hence the nickname).

“Today’s vote gives the people a voice in the Senate until they exercise that choice,’’ US Senator John F. Kerry, a Massachusetts Democrat, said yesterday in a statement. “This is what Ted Kennedy wanted, what Governor Patrick and I wanted, and I firmly believe it’s what people in Massachusetts want, because big votes on everything from health care to climate change are being taken now, not in five months.’’

You DON'T HAVE a CLUE as to what WE WANT, you out-of-touch elitist scum!!!

And if THEY ALL WANTED THAT why did the same slimy hypocrites change it for you as Kennedy worked behind the scenes 5 years ago, seniter?

Update:

The city of Boston spent $431,000 on overtime costs to deploy 629 police officers, 48 firefighters, and a raft of other workers for the funeral of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, according to information released to the Globe yesterday under a public records request. City officials said a federal grant for “urban areas security’’ would cover $400,000 of the cost....

Like what is going on in Pittsburgh right now? How much that tyranny costing?

Update II:

"Today, the 71-year-old Kirk is chairman of a business and consulting firm, Kirk & Associates, and a retired partner at the Boston law firm Sullivan & Worcester. He also sits on the board of directors of three companies, which collectively paid him more than $500,000 in cash, stock options, and other benefits in 2008.

Those companies are Hartford Financial Services Group, an insurance and investment company; Rayonier Inc., an international forest products company; and Cedar Shopping Centers, a real estate trust that invests in shopping centers anchored by supermarkets and discount drug stores. Most of Kirk’s board compensation came from Hartford Financial, which paid him more than $250,000 last year.

Kirk said yesterday that he is stepping down from the three boards.
