"Running scared, running hard; Democrats, GOP both driven by idea that Brown could win" by Matt Viser and Eric Moskowitz, Globe Staff | January 17, 2010
A once-sleepy contest for US Senate has become, in the final weekend of the race, unimaginably close....
Democrats are so nervous about losing the seat once held by Edward M. Kennedy that President Obama, who has a lot riding on Tuesday’s outcome, will campaign for Coakley this afternoon....
Sage Walcott, a 69-year-old creative writing professor:
“I can’t imagine Brown replacing Kennedy. It’s an atrocious idea.’’
That is what my mother said.
I'm afraid too many people are thinking like that in this state.
This is not about Ted Kennedy anymore, he's gone. This is about the issues in front of us. Healthcare does not deserve to be passed because Ted died. It's a SHIT BILL.
I understand the feeling to a certain degree; however, WE NEED to get PAST THAT or this state and nation are sunk.
Sandra Thaxter, 66, of Newburyport, said she wouldn’t have turned out had the race not grown tight:
“I think we all thought she was a shoo-in.’’
Yes, OVERCONFIDENCE and FAITH in your friends is YOUR WEAKNESS!!
In an indication of Coakley’s challenge, a couple of voters at her stop in Lynn said they planned to vote for Brown because they saw him as a change agent - a theme that has been a core message for Democrats in recent election cycles.
Well, the SHOE is on the OTHER FOOT and IT IS NOT LOOKING GOOD for Marty!!!
“His approach is fresh, clean, and new,’’ said George Gambale, an 80-year-old from East Boston who had just polished off a bowl of beef stew at Brothers Deli. “She’s just not the candidate.’’
I will not vote for Brown, but this guy has a point.
Marty BLEW a 31-point LEAD in the polls, and SHE SUCKS as a CAMPAIGNER!!!
I guess that's why the Globe turned the rest of the piece into an article about rape.
And about those polls:
"Polls give varying predictions of Senate election outcome" by Michael Levenson, Globe Staff | January 17, 2010
No one could blame a Massachusetts voter for being confused about which way the electorate is leaning these days. A raft of polls over the last two weeks has offered widely varying snapshots of voter sentiments looking ahead to Tuesday, when they go to the ballot box to choose between Attorney General Martha Coakley, state Senator Scott P. Brown, and independent Joseph L. Kennedy....
Some are sponsored by partisan groups with an interest in the outcome.
That EXPLAINS the Globe's OUT-of-STEP, AGENDA-PUSHING POLLS!!!
And because of their SKEW, they do NOT SEE what is GOING ON out here!!!
Mark Blumenthal, editor and publisher of pollster.com, who has been sifting through the results of eight polls released this month, said: “The one thing that is clear across all these surveys is that the most enthusiastic, most interested, and most likely to vote are the conservatives who are supporting Brown.’’
Uh-oh!! Marty is DONE, folks!
Since the Democrats DID NOT given us change, Bay State voters have decided to CHANGE THEM!!!
David W. Moore a former vice president of Gallup and managing editor of the Gallup Poll, said the Suffolk poll used reliable methods and should be a “wake-up call’’ to Democrats who might have thought Coakley would trounce Brown.....
Question: How long does it take a DemocraP to smell s***?
