The Buts in the Health Care Bill

I'm really tired of seeing words by college professor told me were bad words for a report in my newspaper, readers.

"Some details about the new buying pools remain fuzzy, including how many people might qualify, how much they will have to pay in premiums, how existing state programs would be affected, and whether $5 billion will be enough. Some have said the money could fall far short.
...

But...."

Yeah, but GOVERNMENT is GOING TO HELP YOU!!

"Government to help uninsured get coverage within months; Previously denied applicants will be eligible for plan" by Erica Werner, Associated Press | April 3, 2010

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration took a step yesterday toward showing voters concrete benefits from the new health care law, moving to help people with preexisting health conditions get coverage within months.

Well, maybe.

The law the president signed March 23 provides for creation within 90 days of buying pools for uninsured people who were denied coverage because of health conditions.

About $5 billion is being spent on the program, which will remain until the sweeping health law is fully implemented in 2014, when insurance companies will have to take all applicants....

Sounds great, huh?

Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of Health and Human Services, told reporters on a conference call:

[The program will provide] immediate relief for potentially millions of Americans with preexisting conditions, like diabetes or high-blood pressure, who have been shut out of the insurance system.’’

Well, if the insurance companies are true to their word and don;t exploit the ambiguity(?) in the bill.

***********

The administration is under pressure to turn the health care law from a political negative into a positive ahead of the fall elections and to undercut Republican calls to repeal it.

Did something we did not want have to be shoved down our throats if it was so good for us?

Did that make you happy, America?

In recent speeches, President Obama has dared the GOP to push for repeal, calling on Republicans to look uninsured voters in the face and tell them newfound benefits will be yanked.

Along with the HEALTH TAX!

Make sure you tell them that!

Yeah, this guy is as arrogant an asshole as Bush.

Administration officials believe their best defense against Republican criticism of the law would be highlighting its benefits, especially those provisions that take effect quickly.

In other words, cover up the turd with perfume and hope you will embrace it, America.

In addition to the new buying pools, these include tax credits for small businesses, a $250 rebate for seniors who fall into Medicare’s prescription drug coverage “doughnut hole,’’ and new requirements for insurers to cover children with preexisting conditions.

Well, about the kids, there is an AMBIGUITY there!!

I sense a court case coming.

As for that “doughnut hole,’’ it is a nearly $3,500 dollar hole!

"Currently, seniors must pay out of pocket for drug costs that are more than $2,830 and less than $6,440 a year. The typical beneficiary will get a $250 rebate this year for the coverage gap and would save $700 in 2011 and $3,000 a year by 2020"

Yeah, you are really going to be happy with the CHUMP CHANGE, 'eh, America?

“Over the next couple of months, we’ll be making a lot of announcements just like this,’’ Sebelius said. “The law the president signed was carefully written to get benefits to Americans as quickly as possible without disrupting or overburdening the health care system.’’

What a liar, huh?

Yeah, if it was so carefully written why are their ambiguities in there?

Yeah, save that for the END of the ARTICLE, you agenda-pushing PoS.

But....
