Hamas' Plummeting Popularity

If you believe the unbiased and truthful agenda-pushing Zionist War Media

"Hamas tries to boost its popularity" by Ibrahim Barzak, Associated Press / December 14, 2010

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Gaza’s ruling Hamas movement has politicians sweeping streets to show community spirit, activists distributing chocolates and cards signed “from Hamas with love,’’ and police officers visiting homes and schools to soften the often harsh image of the security forces.

If it is US invaders doing the same it is applauded.

And if the security forces in AmeriKa behave the same way, that's fine. The newspaper inflection and connotation isn't quite the same, though.

The Islamic militants, who mark the anniversary of their movement’s 1987 founding today, say the outreach is simply a way to reconnect with Gazans after more than three years in sole control of Gaza....

The need to shore up popularity highlights the dilemma that has vexed Hamas since it seized Gaza from internationally backed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in 2007: In trying to be both a violent resistance movement and a responsible government, it often ends up satisfying neither its militant core constituency nor people hoping for a better life....

Yeah, and the ISRAELI SIEGE doesn't help!

And even though the media IN THE EXCISED PARAGRAPH PREVIOUS to the one you just read stated that HAMAS WON ELECTIONS they INSIST UPON using the word SEIZED.

Oh, btw, Hamas foiled a COUP ATTEMPT!!!!

It is ONE REASON AMONG MANY that I NO LONGER BELIEVE the OUTRAGEOUSLY SLANTED and BIASED articles I find in my "newspaper" and barely bring myself to read them.  I'm not loving the lies and obfuscations anymore.

An informal truce, in place since Israel’s war on Gaza two years ago, has not been enough to get Israel and Egypt to lift the border blockade they imposed after the 2007 takeover.

Yeah, a truce observed only by Hamas.

Without this life is unlikely to return to normal, and Gazans still overwhelmingly depend on handouts and struggle with more than 30 percent unemployment.

Yeah, it is the WORLD'S LARGEST OUTDOOR PRISON -- although I think some supplies just got through.  Didn't read about it in my jewspaper, either.

The level of support for Hamas is difficult to gauge because Gazans are not inclined to speak freely for fear of repercussions.

You know, like breathing a word of 9/11 Truth in AmeriKa.

Hamas remains firmly in control, but some analysts say they detect growing impatience with Gaza’s isolation, as well as with Hamas’s attempts to enforce conservative Islamic mores and stifle dissent....

So says my Zionist War Daily.

Flashback: Israel Helped Create Hamas

Why Would Israel Create Hamas?

Yeah, why would they do that?

And about that truce:

"Israelis kill 2 militants in Gaza border action" by Amy Teibel, Associated Press / December 27, 2010

JERUSALEM — Israeli forces killed two Palestinian militants yesterday along the Gaza-Israel border, where a sudden surge in violence has weakened an unofficial truce in place since Israel’s bruising 2009 war there.

Notice there is NEVER ANY MENTION of ISRAELI WMD USE or FIRING of TANK SHELLS into BUILDINGS during that WAR CRIME of an EXERCISE?

Instead the Zionist media of AmeriKa is always spouting off about Iran's nonexistent bomb and the "terrorists" of western intelligence agencies.

The Israeli military said it launched an airstrike after spotting two men trying to plant an explosive device along the frontier, where soldiers patrol.

I never believe a word those liars say anymore. They could be spouting God's own truth and I wouldn't believe them. That's what happens when you lie to people.

The Islamic Jihad militant group said two of its members died in a clash with Israeli ground troops.

Another "website?"

There was no way to reconcile the two accounts immediately.

Yeah, lies are hard to reconcile -- especially with a whole pile in the room (just like the stack of unread Globe's that sits there).

The border area has been calm for the most part since Israel invaded Gaza in December 2008 to try to stop years of Palestinian rocket fire on southern Israel, killing more than 1,400 Palestinians — including more than 900 civilians — and destroying large sections of the territory.

I'm surprised to see the toll in print and such a word choice.

Yeah, I'm not surprised by the lies.

But violence flared several weeks ago, and on Saturday, Gaza’s militant Hamas rulers warned they would escalate hostilities against Israel if tensions didn’t subside.

Just as PEACE was being bandied about and Gaza was gaining world sympathy!

And you never see ISRAEL'S ZIONIST ZEALOTS being described as such, do you?

Once you CRACK the CODE of the Muslim-hating, Zionist press propaganda of AmeriKa it is easy to see through the prism.

Israel holds Hamas responsible for all attacks coming out of Gaza, though much of the rocket fire has been carried out by more radical splinter groups.

Yeah, even if they didn't do it!!

Therefore I HOLD ISRAEL RESPONSIBLE for EVERY ZIONIST ZETTLER'S CRIMES as well as their damn troops!

How many false flags can Israel fly anyway?

But the factions all reject Israel’s right to exist and oppose efforts by Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, to win a Palestinian state through negotiations with Israel.

That is NOT TRUE -- and the AmeriKan Media KNOWS IT!

"Hamas would respect any peace deal reached between Israel and Western-backed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, provided it is approved in a global Palestinian referendum"

Have YOU had it with the LIES yet, dear readers?

And now I am supposed to believe....

Those negotiations ran aground several months ago over Israeli settlement construction.

See: Month of Middle East Peace Ends As Predicted

Palestinian leaders, skeptical of ever negotiating a deal with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, said they are pursuing alternatives. Their main fallback strategy is seeking recognition from as many countries as possible of a Palestinian state in territories Israel captured in 1967.

Cabinet Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer of Israel warned yesterday that if Israel doesn’t enter into peace talks with the Palestinians, then “the whole world’’ is likely to recognize a sovereign Palestinian state — a development Israel would not welcome.

“Within a year, we will find ourselves in a situation where the whole world — and I wouldn’t be surprised if even the United States — would support a Palestinian state,’’ he said.

There is no stopping it.

Ben-Eliezer is in the Labor Party, which is more moderate than Netanyahu’s Likud Party.

Over the past two decades, more than 100 countries have recognized an independent Palestinian state, including a string of Latin American countries in the past few weeks.

But major players in the world of Mideast mediation, including the United States and the European Union, have not done so, saying a state should emerge from negotiations, not unilateral actions.

UNLIKE the U.N.  establishment of Israel, huh?

See who is in the Zionists pocket?

If Israel were to lose crucial US support for a negotiated accord, that would severely weaken Israel’s ability to influence the terms of Palestinian statehood.

I wouldn't count on them losing anything from this government.

They practically own the damn thing.

Avigdor Lieberman, Israel’s foreign minister, said yesterday that a peace deal with the Palestinians is impossible under current conditions and that Israel should pursue a long-term, interim agreement on security and economic matters. Palestinians have consistently rejected that approach.

Talks broke down three weeks after they began with the expiration of a 10-month moratorium on new settlement construction in the West Bank.

Btw, did you know at least 14 Gazans die every day -- not counting any Israeli military action.
