Slow Saturday Special: Narcisse the Narci$$ist
"A Gardner woman has pleaded guilty to fraudulently receiving more than $100,000 in welfare benefits. The Worcester Telegram & Gazette reported that Heidi Narcisse, 45, pleaded guilty to theft of public money in federal court Thursday. Federal prosecutors said Narcisse was collecting Social Security Supplemental Security Income disability benefits as well as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. They said she falsely claimed to be separated from her husband and living alone with children while receiving no outside assistance. But authorities said she and her husband bought a house in Gardner, listed that address on their driver’s licenses, and filed joint tax returns with the same address (AP)."
