"Recession imperils nation's artifacts; Budget cuts may stall projects" by James Hannah, Associated Press | February 15, 2009
COLUMBUS, Ohio - .... With the recession tightening its grip, budgets being cut and donors drying up, preservationists are scaling back on restorations....
Pete Sepp, spokesman for the National Taxpayers Union, said historic preservation has to be subject to budget priorities. "Preserving the past is important, but if governments don't start spending and borrowing less, there won't be much of a future left for our kids to enjoy," Sepp said.

"Jobs, pay cut at Old Sturbridge Village
The tough economy has led to job and salary cuts at Old Sturbridge Village. Five middle management positions have been eliminated at the living museum, and senior managers are taking voluntary salary reductions ranging from 10 to 20 percent. James Donahue, chief executive officer, accepted a 20 percent cut. The moves come despite 8 percent increases last year in visits and membership at the museum, which portrays life in the late-18th and early 19th centuries. Old Sturbridge Village spokeswoman Ann Lindblad told the Worcester Telegram & Gazette that the cuts were a prudent move in a volatile economy to make sure the museum was well-positioned for the coming year. After the cuts, the village will have 193 employees (AP)."
Yeah, we got TRILLIONS for WARS and BANKS but nothing for history.
Why would they want the citizenry looking back and being informed; the MSM would rather shove NaZionist propaganda in your face.
