"Suicide truck bombing kills 7 in northern Iraq" by Sam Dagher, New York Times | April 1, 2009

BAGHDAD - At least seven people were killed and 25 others wounded, most of them police officers, in a suicide truck bomb attack yesterday in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, according to witnesses and security officials.

See: Occupation Iraq: Israel's IEDs for why I no longer believe in "suiciders" or anything else the agenda-pushing, war-promoting, Zionist AmeriKan war press has to report about Muslims!!

The early morning attack took place at the headquarters of a unit of the local police force in the city's Bab al-Baidh section next to the central train station. A police officer manning a checkpoint in the perimeter of the police building said that a man driving a large flatbed truck normally used for transporting construction material had approached the rear gate and asked him if he could make a U-turn. Like most other government buildings, the front entrance is barricaded with tall concrete blast walls.

After the truck was permitted to enter, it drove to the building's courtyard and detonated its payload, according to the police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the attack with the media.

A municipal cleaning crew was working near the building's back entrance at the moment of the explosion. "We were sweeping the street and suddenly we saw a ball of fire and there was an explosion. It knocked us off our feet," said Salwan Ahmed, 18, one of the cleaners.

Later, the headless body of one of his co-workers, Mahmoud Tariq, 13, was found nearby.

The explosion left a deep crater in the courtyard, destroying the police building and causing serious damage to eight nearby homes in what is considered a historic section of the city.

That is DAMN SMELLY, and REEKS of MOSSAD'S MO!

Despite numerous American and Iraqi military operations, Mosul, the capital of Nineveh province, remains a flashpoint for the insurgency. Including yesterday's attack on the police, at least 27 people have been killed and 65 others wounded in various acts of violence in Mosul and its outskirts since Thursday.

The situation in Mosul is further complicated by its proximity to the poorly controlled Syrian border and a bitter political struggle between the province's staunchly nationalist Sunni Arab leaders, made up of tribal chiefs and former regime loyalists, and their Kurdish opponents. Arabs accuse Kurds of seeking to annex many parts of the province adjacent to the semiautonomous Kurdistan region.

Yeah, blame it on the Syrians! Pfffftt!

About 5,000 American soldiers remain stationed in Nineveh, where Iraqi Army and national police units dispatched from Baghdad are largely in the forefront of combating the insurgency. Many Iraqi and American military leaders believe the local police force in Mosul remains for the most part ineffectual and infiltrated by insurgents. The entire police force collapsed in the fall of 2004 when insurgents briefly took control of the city.

We aren't leaving, Americans -- ever.
