BU Bummer

"Choice of grad speaker is a bust" By Tracy Jan, Globe Staff | May 9, 2009

BU students said they were not expecting President Obama, but many expected someone at Cabinet level, at least.

Past speakers at BU commencements include former secretary of state Henry Kissinger, novelist Tom Wolfe, journalist George Will, and Afghan president Hamid Karzai. Two years ago, scientist and 1997 Nobel laureate Steven Chu spoke, to the disappointment of some graduates who expected to hear from Al Gore. Obama recently appointed Chu secretary of energy.

Yeah, globalists speak at commencements. That's why I didn't go to mine. I can't even remember who spoke.

Thousands of Boston University seniors tumbled out of bed last Friday to attend a special breakfast where the school would announce this year's commencement speaker. They cheered as a slideshow flashed headshots of the honorary-degree recipients: Celtics great Larry Bird, legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg, and acclaimed Chinese director Zhang Yimou.

Wonder why the Globe IGNORES THOSE in their puff piece.

Katie Koch, a senior journalism and political science major studying in Washington, D.C., this semester, received word via text message from her friends in Boston. She began digging that night, trying to find out more about the congressman, and learned that he has worked to steer millions of federal dollars toward BU street-beautification projects and medical research and that he supports the controversial BU biolab in the South End, she said.

Oh, the KID was doing YOUR JOB, 'eh, Globe?

Sort of like what BLOGS are doing, 'eh?

"He's a poor choice because the money ties he has to the university are through taxpayer dollars, and it makes the university look tacky" by inviting him to speak, said Koch, who created a Facebook group called "Your Money is Not as Important to BU as Mike Capuano's."

But others said the BU students should find a real problem to complain about....

Oh, like the 9/11 LIE and the UNENDING OCCUPATIONS and WARS?

Colin Riley, a BU spokesman: "He is a distinguished and accomplished public servant. We are very pleased and proud he accepted our invitation."

Yeah, the OTHERS are the MANAGEMENT of the COLLEGE and the hacks office!!!!!

Then, drumroll please, for the man who would be the main attraction at the podium....
