Congress Approves Another $100 Billion For Wars

I wonder how much per life that will amount to....

"US House approves war funds measure" by Andrew Taylor, Associated Press | May 15, 2009

WASHINGTON - Despite Democrats' rising anxiety about Afghanistan, the House yesterday easily passed -- by a 368-60 tally -- a $96.7 billion measure fulfilling President Obama's request for war spending and foreign aid efforts there and in Iraq.

Democrats added almost $12 billion to Obama's $85 billion request. The measure would boost total funding provided by Congress for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars above $900 billion.

Given all the fraud and war-looting, we are talking trillions for the lies. Trillions wasted and not spent elsewhere, 'murka. That's why your country is falling apart.

Oh, yeah, it comes against the backdrop of an increasingly antiwar public:

"Veterans boost McGovern bill calling for Afghanistan exit strategy" by Farah Stockman, Globe Staff | May 14, 2009

WASHINGTON - Representative James McGovern of Massachusetts, who has launched the only effort in the US House to oppose President Obama's plans for the Afghan war, received an unexpected boost of support yesterday from a group of Afghan and Iraqi war veterans, who raced around Capitol Hill lobbying for his bill.

Just the fact that the MSM is mentioning this means this country is turning against more war.

Congress is expected today to approve swiftly the $94.2 billion war-funding bill....

Somehow another $2.5 billion was found in a day.

The veterans, who are part of a small but growing group of Americans who oppose the Afghan war, traveled to Washington this week, shadowed by the Brave New Foundation, a nonprofit film company based in California that produces social justice documentaries and has launched a campaign called Rethink Afghanistan....

The FACT IS, we are NOT THAT SMALL!!

If we were, the MSM wouldn't be mentioning this.

They have ignored much larger antiwar events.

Still, many members of Congress are reluctant to question a war that is directly linked to an attack on the United States, not to mention a popular president.

And THE LIES CONTINUE and CONTINUE!!!!

For the last time, 9/11 was an INSIDE JOB!!!!!

Representative Raul M. Grijalva, an Arizona Democrat who chairs the Progressive Congressional Caucus and shares skepticism about the troop increase, told the veterans their message is still a difficult sell. "I think there is a sense that there is no other option," he said....

Yup, that is YOUR PROGRESSIVE PEACE ADVOCATE of Congress saying their is NO OPTION to WAR!!!!

That's AmeriKa for you!!!
