"Fiscally speaking, Patrick seeks ideas from the public" by Milton J. Valencia, Globe Staff | May 12, 2009
BRAINTREE - The underlying theme was clear: Governor Deval L. Patrick wanted to hear their problems and concerns, but also their solutions, as the state faces the toughest budget process in recent times.
He most certainly does not!
I've told him where to get the money:
Pigs at the State Trough
A Slow Saturday Special: Statehouse Slush Fund
Hollywood S***s on Massachusetts
Biotech Giveaway Was Borrowed Money
How many times I gotta put 'em up?
Residents asked the governor to spare the state's core services from budget cuts. But Patrick asked how they would propose paying for them.
I just told you!!!
Eskinder Fanta of Braintree, the owner of several convenience stores, said the governor should work to expand the economy with the biotech and clean energy initiatives he has proposed. Fanta said he believes adding taxes to things like candy and soda, never mind cigarettes, would hurt consumers, and merchants.
Pfffft! I'm so sick of the self-serving slop shoveled forth by the Boston Globe.
"We have to find alternative ways to raise revenue without raising taxes or cutting more," Fanta said....
