Final Protests

Honestly, I'm tired of the biased, agenda-pushing selectivity.

I need to start paring things here, and this is a good candidate for the chopping block.

"EU protesters demand job protection" by Reuters | May 16, 2009

BRUSSELS - Some 40,000 people marched in Brussels yesterday to demand more government funds to protect jobs in the European Union, saying too much money was spent on banks that are responsible for the financial crisis.

The rally, staged by the European Trade Union Confederation, occurred a day after a similar protest in Madrid and ahead of two more marches in Prague and Berlin today.

Yeah, and there was NO FOLLOW-UP to this Boston Globe brief!

What an absolutely horrid newspaper!

Workers from across the 27-nation European Union voiced anger that hundreds of billions of euros were being spent on bailing out banks, which they said were partly responsible for the crisis, rather than to save industrial jobs....

Yeah, they wouldn't want to give any of us Americans any ideas.... except these:

MOSCOW - Riot police broke up several gay rights demonstrations in Moscow yesterday, hauling away scores of protesters hours before the capital hosted a major international pop music competition.

Activists had targeted Moscow, which was holding the finals of the Eurovision song contest, hoping to use the event's global popularity to draw attention to their claims that Russia officially sanctions homophobia.

Did you check out the link I provided?

Are you tired of the enemy-creating, agenda-pushing lies yet?

I am: Get Me to the Church on Time

Led by a mayor who describes homosexuality as "satanic," city officials had warned they would not tolerate marches or rallies supporting the rights of gays and lesbians.

Well, I haven't gone that far -- nor will I (although the money aspect is interesting).

Among those detained were British activist Peter Tatchell and American activist Andy Thayer of Chicago, cofounder of the Gay Liberation Network.

How about leaving Russia to Russians? Why not PROTEST a WAR instead, 'ey?

No injuries were reported. Most of the arrests took place at a hastily organized protest near Moscow State University in southwest Moscow, where about 30 protesters shouted....

Oh, I see. 30 get more print than THOUSANDS!!

Yup, MSM telling us nothing but the whole truth again!

Police seized gay rights advocates as well as some members of religious and nationalist groups that staged counter-demonstrations.

Oh, THEY only got a SENTENCE, did they?

They also took away gay rights activists for talking to reporters, and ripped the bra and shirt off one female protester....

So claims the pro-gay, enemy-creating, agenda-pushing AmeriKan MSM.

And one gay protest just wasn't enough:

SOUTH BEND - Graduation festivities got underway at the University of Notre Dame yesterday - as well as another day of demonstrations over President Obama's appearance today. More than 100 people gathered at the school's front gate to protest. They said Obama shouldn't be allowed to speak at the Roman Catholic university because of his support of abortion rights and embryonic stem cell research. Shortly after noon, 23 protesters marched onto the campus. Nineteen were arrested on trespassing charges and four also faced a charge of resisting law enforcement, said Sergeant Bill Redman, St. Joseph County Police Department spokesman (AP)."

Of course, the pro-abortion paper makes this protest a brief -- unlike the agenda-pushing gays, immigrants, or fart-misters!

"Town rises up for bakery; After outcry, US Embassy in Paris renews owner's visa" by Sarah Schweitzer, Globe Staff | May 21, 2009

COLEBROOK, N.H. - The town helplessly watched as a worsening economy forced the closure of local paper mills, layoffs at the nearby Ethan Allen factory, and the shuttering of the Ford dealership....

So when word came in April that the bakery was shutting down - not because of the economy, but because the US Embassy in Paris refused to renew the visa of the owner - the townspeople were vexed. Federal bureaucrats, they were told, had decided that the bakery did not make enough of a profit to warrant a renewal. It was then that a community rose up in protest.

Do I even need to type anything at this point?

"We'd lost enough," said Steve Colby, 71, a retired machinist. "We didn't need to lose anything more up here."

They began sending letters to the US Embassy in Paris. They lobbied their congressmen to get behind their appeal. They signed a petition by the hundreds and sent it to American diplomats several thousand miles away.

Yup, but we can't end the wars or get single-payer or... you name it.

Their argument: The bakery might not earn huge sums of money, but it contributed plenty to the community, providing a place for residents to gather, while offering hope that a small business, even one as unlikely as the boulangerie, could thrive in their town....

This week, Colebrook residents got their wish. The US Embassy reversed its decision and granted Daeron her visa, according to Daeron and the New Hampshire state director for Senator Judd Gregg, who was briefed by State Department officials on the case. A State Department spokeswoman, Laura Tischler, said the department does not comment on individual visa cases.

Yeah, they would just like it to go away now -- along with me and you.
