Also yesterday, reports said GM and Chrysler LLC were planning to tell dealers soon that they would be losing their franchises. GM will notify 1,000 to 1,200 auto dealers on Friday that they fail to meet franchise agreements. Chrysler plans to fire up to 800 of its 3,200 dealers tomorrow, a lawyer seeking to represent the dealers said.
