In more ways than one.

Tiring of Trade Wars

Let's start with the trade:

"Tire tariff dispute unlikely to expand; US, China depend on each other" by Martin Crutsinger and Joe McDonald, Associated Press | September 15, 2009

Good. Whatever it is, I don't want any more wars.

Trade wars, drug wars, wars on this, wars on that, here a war, there a war, everywhere a war, war -- that's the Amurkn MSMfor you!

WASHINGTON - China’s complaint yesterday over new US tariffs on Chinese tires raised pressure on Washington but isn’t likely to incite a full-blown trade war. Each side knows its economy has too much to lose.

The United States, the world’s largest economy, represents a huge market for Chinese exports.

Yeah, that's where all your
manufacturing jobs went, America. Thank you, globalization.

And China is the largest holder of US government debt at a time when the federal deficit has swollen to record levels because of economic rescue measures.

And the WARS, MSM -- don't forget the WARS!!!!!

China quickly took its case to the World Trade Organization....

For China, barriers for its exports to the United States mean job losses at home. Still, private economists say they expect both sides to avoid a conflict that would harm producers in each country.

“The big message from China to the United States is think twice, think three times before repeating this kind of relief for a US industry because if you do this again, we are going to hit you again,’’ said Gary Hufbauer, a trade expert at the Peterson Institute, a Washington think tank....

And it adds to a series of disputes over poultry, auto parts, and other goods that have threatened to strain relations as Beijing and Washington cooperate on complex issues, including the economic crisis and climate control. The United States also wants China’s help in trying to block North Korea and Iran from developing nuclear weapons....

Beijing’s response shows the urgency communist leaders attach to maintaining exports, employment, and social stability. Officials have said up to 30 million laborers lost factory jobs last year as exports plummeted. Many have found new employment, but the government is eager to avert more job losses.

How come the AUTHORITARIAN CHINESE(?) are MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR PEOPLE than the stink-hole of a government I got?

They say they find it ridiculous that China is viewed as this incredibly oppressive place where the government is spying on you all the time and concerned with your littlest actions. They oftentimes like to tell me that China actually has more freedoms than the United States or England"

OUCH!

Chinese leaders are sensitive to public anger, easily triggered by suggestions that foreign nations are treating China unfairly....

WOW! You SEE HOW MUCH my rat-s*** government cares about our will, huh, world?

But the decision to go through the WTO could reflect China’s desire to confine the dispute and prevent it from disrupting relations with Washington.

Gees, those DAMN UNREASONABLE CHINESE, huh?

"China says it doesn’t want trade war" by Associated Press | September 16, 2009

Neither do I.

BEIJING - China tried yesterday to allay fears of a trade war with Washington over tire tariffs, saying it will press a World Trade Organization case against new US duties but wants to avoid harming relations.

“US and Chinese trade and economic relations are the most important bilateral relations. We don’t want to see anything bad happen to bilateral relations,’’ said a Commerce Ministry spokesman, Yao Jian....

Yeah, they have all their money tied up with us.

The case adds to a string of trade disputes at a time when Beijing and Washington are cooperating on sensitive issues including efforts to end North Korea’s nuclear program....

Yeah, and WHO does THAT BENEFIT?

As far as I can tell, ONLY the WAR-MAKERS!!!!!

And when I said sticking it, readers, I MEANT it to be a LITERAL REFERENCE!

BEIJING - China announced the breakup of a bomb-making plot in the volatile western region of Xinjiang yesterday, an apparent indication that authorities had not only failed to suppress the ethnic hatreds there but also that the weapons in the feud could be getting more lethal.

Hmmmm.

The announcement, from the Public Security Ministry, said the authorities had arrested six people who had established three bomb-making workshops and assembled about 20 explosive devices in a town 430 miles outside the region’s capital, Urumqi.

Gotta be 'Al-CIA-Duh" if you think it through.

The ministry said the suspects had planned to plant the explosives on cars, motorcycles, and people, but were foiled by what it called timely arrests. The police did not identify the ethnicity of the suspects. But the names suggested they were Uighurs, an ethnic group that dominated the province before an influx in recent decades of Han, China’s major ethnic group.

Tensions between the Uighur and Han in Xinjiang reached a flashpoint in July when Uighurs rioted in Urumqi. At least 197 people, mostly Han, died in the worst incidence of ethnic violence in China in decades.

And that's odd because "until the melee on Sunday, Urumqi had been one of the calmer parts of the West."

HMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

The weapons used in that mayhem and subsequent clashes were largely confined to hatchets, sticks, cudgels, knives, needles, and toothpicks and pins. But yesterday’s announcement was the first indication that antagonists with scores yet to settle were making bombs.

Uighurs charge that the government has hidden the true tally of Uighurs killed by security forces or in revenge attacks by Han after the July riots. Han accuse the authorities of failing to protect them from the Uighurs. Earlier this month, Han residents took to the streets of Urumqi demanding better security.

On Tuesday, the police announced they had detained a total of 75 suspects accused of needle-stabbing attacks in the Xinjiang region. A public security official said two of those detained confessed they stabbed a resident in a supermarket “to create panic in society.’’

Well, you have to throw out confessions in police custody these days because of torture. China, here, anywhere.

Others admitted that they had organized needle attacks to inflame ethnic hatred, according to the state-run news agency, Xinhua. On Saturday, two men and a woman were sentenced to seven to 15 years in prison for stabbing or threatening victims with syringes.

This is the KIND of thing that MAKES ME SUSPECT a COVERT CIA CAMPAIGN to DESTABILIZE CHINA'S WESTERN FRONTIER for the UPCOMING WWIII!!!!

Nicholas Bequelin, a researcher for Human Rights Watch, an advocacy group, questioned whether police had uncovered hard evidence or were merely trying to pacify the Han by accusing Uighurs of unproven plots.

Can you IMAGINE the AmeriKan jewsmedia leveling a SIMILAR CHARGE against the U.S. GOVERNMENT over 9/11? There is your bias for you.
