Tortured him, too.

"Israel blamed in Hamas killing" by Howard Schneider, Washington Post | January 30, 2010

JERUSALEM - A senior commander with the Islamist Hamas organization’s military wing was killed in a Dubai hotel earlier this month, prompting what officials in the United Arab Emirates said would be an international search for members of a “professional criminal gang’’ it blamed for the slaying.

Why are we just hearing about it now on a Slow Saturday?

Mahmoud al-Mabhouh’s body was found Jan. 20, but information about his death was only made public yesterday after the corpse was returned to Damascus, where Mabhouh had lived in exile since leaving the Gaza Strip in 1989.

Oh, I see.

Hamas officials blamed Israel for the killing and vowed revenge. Israeli officials, in keeping with standard policy on such allegations, did not comment....

Who else could it be, really?

I mean, Israeli leaders have said they would do this.

A statement issued by Dubai’s official media office quoted police and security officials and said Mabhouh entered the country on the afternoon of Jan. 19 and was found dead within a day, suggesting that the killers had tracked his movements.... Medical reports supplied to family members in Damascus indicated that Mabhouh had been subjected to electric shocks and strangulation. He said he believes his brother has been the target of other assassination attempts.

Sure sounds like the efficiency of Mossad to me.

Israel has frequently targeted Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip, and there have been occasional allegations of assassination efforts abroad. Most notably, Israeli agents in 1997 tried to poison Hamas leader Khaled Meshal.

So they do it, probably poisoned Arafat so their stooge Abass could take over, etc, but you know, MSM here isn't going to go down that road.

Note that the MSM notes the one failure as opposed to all the "successes."

Missile anyone's car lately, Israel?

Then Israel basically admits -- for them -- that, yeah, they did it.

"Slain Hamas leader accused of smuggling" by Amy Teibel, Associated Press | February 1, 2010

JERUSALEM - Israeli officials said yesterday that a Hamas commander assassinated in Dubai played a central role in smuggling weapons from Iran to Gaza militants. But they refused to say whether Israel was responsible for killing the man it had sought for two decades.

Yeah, if Israel is arming someone its no problem.

Leaders of Iranian-backed Hamas have accused Israel of killing Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in a posh Dubai hotel on Jan. 20 and threatened revenge, although they have provided little evidence to support their assertion.

As if the lyin' Zionist papers of AmeriKa have a pot to poop in!

Dubai authorities have said a “professional criminal gang’’ with European passports was probably behind the killing.

The Jewish Mafia!

Talal Nassar, an official in Hamas’s media office in Damascus, said over the weekend that Mabhouh had been “poisoned and electrocuted in his hotel room in Dubai.’’ But Mabhouh’s brother, Hussein, 49, who lives in the Jebaliya refugee camp in Gaza, said his brother “died by electric shock and suffocation with a piece of cloth.’’

Another brother of Mabhouh accused Israel of killing him.

Who had an interest in rubbing him out? Israel,’’ Fayek al-Mabhouh told Israel’s Army Radio from Gaza yesterday. “He wasn’t connected to any gang. He wasn’t a criminal.’’

Yes, the CLASSIC CUI BONO QUESTION!

Abu Obeida, Hamas’s military spokesman in Gaza, said Mabhouh was passing through Dubai en route to another country when he was killed, but did not say which country....

Hussein al-Mabhouh claimed his brother had survived two Israeli assassination attempts, including an attempt six months ago to poison him in Beirut....

Last month two Hamas men were killed in a mysterious blast in Beirut. Hamas said Israel was a suspect but did not openly accuse it of the killings.

No, they just left their calling card.

The leader of Hamas’s Damascus-based leadership, Khaled Mashaal, survived an Israeli poisoning attempt in Amman, Jordan, in 1997....

Hamas posted pictures of Mabhouh’s body on its website yesterday. The photos showed the body wrapped in a white burial shroud and a green Hamas flag and headband. Mabhouh appeared to have been beaten, with bruises and welts on his nose and cheeks.

Israel has been linked to previous attacks on Hamas figures outside the Palestinian territories and other efforts to halt suspected arms shipments to Gaza. In most cases it has refused to comment on such allegations....

The Israeli officials said....

Who cares what lies they are spewing today.

I've heard and read enough of 'em.
