"Outlook bleak for Sarkozy, polls suggest; Conservatives face trouncing in regional vote" by Angela Charlton, Associated Press | March 12, 2010

PARIS — Nicolas Sarkozy is looking politically lonely in his presidential palace.

Voters hit by France’s worst recession since World War II are fearing for their jobs and are worried and conflicted about how Islamic veils and immigrant culture fit into their nation.

Muslims.

The Jews of the 21st century (and the last quarter of the 20th century when you start thinking about it).

They get a chance to voice their frustration in an election starting Sunday that is likely to leave opposition Socialists in charge of nearly every regional government in France. The left is even dreaming of a “grand slam’’: control over all 26 regions.

Yeah, but will that DO ANYTHING!!

It HAPPENED HERE and we got WORSE CHANGE!

It happened in Greece and they got bent over by the world community for it.

Ireland rejected the bastards then got bent over for another "vote."

In fact, putting aside the s*** show political fooleys (with bankers in the rear, readers), readers, and what you find is ANY TIME you have CHANGE it MUST BE in the DIRECTION of the GLOBALIST AGENDA.

Otherwise.... you know.

The usually confident and charismatic Sarkozy, though he’s not on the ballot, is likely to emerge the big loser halfway through a term he vowed would transform his country into an economic powerhouse....

He already was in my book.

The landscape is already bleak for Sarkozy’s conservative UMP party. The president’s approval ratings are below 40 percent, and Socialists secured a stunning 20 of 22 regions on mainland France in the last elections, in 2004. This time, the UMP had been hoping to win a few regions back, but polls and electoral math suggest it will fail. Voters have used all past regional elections to punish the party in power.

I can CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND the FEELING and wonder if it matters.

You know, it is sad; however, for me EVERYTHING COMES DOWN to WHERE a nation stands on the GOVERNMENT of ISRAEL!

If the POLICY DOES NOT CHANGE there then we know what is afoot.

Plus, Sarkozy’s supporters are showing little interest in the campaign, according to polls. So those voters who do go to the polls are likely to do so to express discontent with what he’s doing — or not doing....

Oh, like the dejected and disillusioned DemocraPs over here in the U.S.A.?

In Sunday’s first round of voting, polls indicate that candidates from Sarkozy’s UMP would take an overall lead nationwide, followed by the Socialists and Europe Ecologie, whose popularity has grown over the past year on its pledges to take better care of the environment.

His party is going to take the lead?

Then why the boo-hoo-hooing?

In the decisive runoff March 21, however, the Socialists, Europe Ecologie, and smaller leftist parties are expected to join forces in some regions, lifting the left to a major triumph.

One of the Europe Ecologie’s posters shows a woman in an Islamic veil, which Sarkozy’s government is moving to ban, and minarets made to look like missiles, and reads “No to Islamism!’’

WTF?

The PREJUDICED FRENCH ENVIRONMENTALISTS?

See: Under the French Veil

Wait a minute, I have to catch my breath. I know I shouldn't be looking, but what dazzling eyes.

And Sarkozy the Zionist tool CREATED the CONTROVERSY in the FIRST PLACE, huh?

Oh, right, the POLITICS of DEMONIZATION and DISTRACTION!

In two regions, voters can choose “No Minarets’’ parties....

Hey, hey, ADL, where the phoque are you as well?

France’s several million-strong Muslim population is Western Europe’s largest, but the government has struggled with integrating them.

You know, SO WHAT!?

No one makes a fuss over any other culture so WTF?

The impression is, of course, the intolerant "terrorists," blah, blah, blah, when WE ALL KNOW NOW it is GOVERNMENT INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES with their army of patsies that CREATE, FUND, and DIRECT "terrorists" and "terrorism."

The GENIE is NEVER GOING BACK in THAT BOTTLE, either!!!

Sarkozy waded into the regional elections campaign in November, just as the government launched nationwide debates on what it means to be French. The identity debates sometimes descended into hostile, racist exercises that turned off many mainstream voters.

Oh, hi.

I ask you, dear readers, WHERE is the OUTRAGE, 'eh?

So the POLITICAL CHICANERY BACKFIRED, Nico?

Despite headline-grabbing events, however, the campaign issues are mainly local.

Isn't that priceless?

The MSM describing their own inept and inane article in the last sentence!

I guess we will stay for the vote count:

"Sarkozy reaps voter anger in French regional elections" by Associated Press | March 15, 2010

PARIS — French voters scarred by economic crisis dealt President Nicolas Sarkozy and his conservative leadership a stern blow yesterday by strongly favoring leftist candidates in regional elections, according to near-complete official results.

Some took their worries about immigration and France’s growing Muslim population to the ballot box — helping the far right National Front party upset predictions and perform strongly in the first-round voting to choose regional governments.

Does anyone ever start looking at the French government as EXTREMIST, because I sure as hell am?

With more than 96 percent of votes counted, candidates from the Socialist and other leftist parties won 53.6 percent of the overall vote, according to the Interior Ministry. Sarkozy’s conservative UMP party and others on the right won 39.8 percent.

Yeah, that is a beating.

The UMP’s poor showing combined with an unusually low turnout of 47 percent, spells widespread discontent with the increasingly unpopular Sarkozy.

THAT is what HAPPENS when you SERVE GLOBALISTS and ISRAEL at the EXPENSE of your OWN PEOPLE!

And as I LEARNED in my COLLEGE HISTORY CLASSES, the French people DON'T TAKE a LOT of SHIT!

Oh, yeah, we learned all about that time period!

Sarkozy remained silent last night, leaving comment to Prime Minister Francois Fillon.

Wants to keep that noggin.

“It’s not over. Everything is open’’ before the decisive runoff March 21, Fillon said, remaining combative even as other UMP colleagues wrung their hands on televised talk shows.

:-)

Many blame Sarkozy for failing to protect jobs amid France’s worst economic downturn since World War II. The long-divided Socialists are reaping the benefits of that anger.

Socialist leader Martine Aubry, unusually poised and eloquent in a speech to supporters last night, called the result “encouraging.’’

********************

Polls suggest that the Socialists or their allies will win the overwhelming majority of France’s 26 regions in the second round.

Candidates from the green-minded party Europe Ecologie, riding voter concern about global warming, are expected to align with the Socialists in many regions for the runoff, as will several other leftist parties.

Yeah, right, after the WINTER they just had?

And WHAT is with the PREJUDICE against MUSLIMS, fart-misting servants of the Zionist agenda?

You willing tools or just too 'too-pid?!

Though the campaign focused on regional concerns such as roads and local jobs, the vote was seen by many as a referendum on Sarkozy.

Yeah, hello, fellow Frenchman!

Before he was elected in 2007, Sarkozy promised sweeping reforms to make France’s economy more dynamic by loosening labor protections. But he changed his free-market rhetoric when the financial crisis hit, calling for a more “moral capitalism’’ including limits on bankers’ bonuses and, in recent days, for global regulations of hedge funds.

A politician that lied to get elected?

My own sacre bleu (with sarcasm)!

Stimulus packages and government intervention to keep Renault from sending carmaking jobs to Turkey have failed to shore up Sarkozy’s approval ratings, down below 40 percent.

Yeah, because the PEOPLE are TIRED of being TOSSED CHUMP CHANGE when the see BANKS MAKING BILLIONS!!

Workers from day cares to oil refineries staged strikes or protests last week, or locked up their bosses to protest factory closures.

I don't think the Globe covered it, readers.

See: Hot Greece Boiling Over

If so, very minimal, huh?

Must be the WRONG kind of PROTESTS!

And how about the PEOPLE'S COURT JUSTICE, 'eh, Americans?

Maybe you should LISTEN to the FRENCH!

France’s struggle to integrate its millions of Muslims has also come to the fore in the campaign for 1,880 seats on regional governments in mainland France and in overseas regions from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean.

Yeah, yeah, I know all about the Mu.... wait a minute!

France STILL has COLONIAL POSSESSIONS?

National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen spoke on national television last night holding up a poster that says “No to Islamism.’’ He said his party, which won nearly 12 percent nationwide, is the only one that can overcome the crisis in the country.

“It’s a worrying moment . . . The National Front is back at a level not seen in years,’’ said Francois Bayrou, former presidential candidate and head of the centrist MoDem party.

Well, you know, given the state of the world media today, is that really any surprise.

It's suiciders, terrorist trials, and war promotion all the time over here.

The National Front performed especially well in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region on the English Channel, where unemployment is high, and in Le Pen’s home region on the French Riviera. The Socialists looked set to keep hold of Ile-de-France, the region that includes Paris.

Segolene Royal, Sarkozy’s Socialist challenger in 2007, led comfortably in her bid for reelection as president of the Poitou-Charente region on the Atlantic coast. Royal, who could challenge Sarkozy again in 2012 despite friction with Socialist colleagues, appeared buoyed by yesterday’s nationwide results as well as her own. The election, she said, constituted “a severe sanction vote’’ against Sarkozy.

Yeah, she lost it when she went over to Palestine and dropped criticism of Israel.

I don't forget things, dear readers.

"Sarkozy prospects dim as regions vote" by Bloomberg News | March 20, 2010

PARIS — President Nicolas Sarkozy faces a reprimand from voters tomorrow in the second round of regional elections....

His Union for a Popular Movement has no second-round allies and is counting on some of the 53.7 percent who abstained in the first round showing up for the second....

HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!

Thanks! I needed a GOOD LAUGH!

HA-HA-HA-HA!!

Sarkozy, faced with record-low popularity, has largely avoided involvement in the regional vote and made no comment about the first round.

And the votes are in:

"Opposition Socialists in France defeat Sarkozy in regional voting" by Angela Charlton, Associated Press | March 22, 2010

PARIS — France’s opposition Socialists and their allies handily defeated President Nicolas Sarkozy’s conservatives in regional elections yesterday, according to partial official results after a vote that helps set the stage for the 2012 presidential race.

Oh, please, stop it with the never-ending horse races!

With 97 percent of ballots counted, the Socialists and their allies won 54 percent of the vote nationwide, while Sarkozy’s UMP party (Union for a Popular Majority) had 35.3 percent, according to the Interior Ministry. The far right National Front had about 10 percent.

The results came close to the grand slam the Socialists were hoping for....

Prime Minister Francois Fillon, looking somber, warned that the country can no longer finance France’s generous social system without reforms. “We do not govern a great country like France according to the rhythm of local elections.’’

Oh, so FRANCE is a FRAUD "democracy," too, huh?

Yeah, you are getting change, yup, same as we did.

How about PULLING OUT of NATO and CALLING the OCCUPIERS HOME from Afghanistan, 'eh?

That would $AVE $OME MONEY, no?

The conservatives’ discomfort was evident. UMP chief Xavier Bertrand and Finance Minister Christine Lagarde were visibly grimacing on postelection talk shows.

Unlike shit-smiling politicians here in AmeriKa!

The French ones are ACTUALLY WORRIED about DICKING the PEOPLE!

The Socialists, after years divided and drifting, were buoyant, and looking ahead to the 2012 vote. “The French have spoken, they must be listened to,’’ said Socialist leader Martine Aubry....

If only, I wish, take your pick.

Voter turnout was slightly above 50 percent — better than the 46 percent in the first round but still close to record lows for France.

Ooops, Nico. Should have called for a suppressed vote instead.

The Socialists were boosted by alliances with far left parties and especially with Europe Ecologie, a grouping of green parties enjoying growing popularity amid voter concern about global warming.

So the CONTROLLED-OPPOSITION AGENDA-PUSHERS are PREJUDICED against MUSLIMS? I don't get the cross connection, I really don't.

The far right National Front enjoyed a comeback with the regional elections, with OpinionWay projecting an overall score of 17.5 percent in the 12 regions where they made it into yesterday’s runoff.

The party’s strongest showing came in the Riviera region, home to leader Jean-Marie Le Pen, and the Nord-Pas de Calais region where his daughter and possible successor Marine is an increasingly prominent voice.

That score, after a campaign that included National Front posters reading “No to Islamism,’’ reflected persistent French concerns about a growing Muslim population, immigration, and the country’s evolving national identity.

Yeah, JOINED by the FAR LEFT?

How do you say CONTROLLED OPPOSITION in French?

The economy, though, was the key issue.

Oh, like everywhere -- as the paper pushes these divisive and diversionary side issues.

Workers across the spectrum are angry over layoffs and worried that planned pension reforms could shrink their old-age income, but....

That means the PEOPLE, and they SHOULD BE!

Nationwide strikes and demonstrations in at least 70 cities are planned for Tuesday, by train drivers, teachers and others....

Globe decided not to cover those.

"France steps back on carbon emissions tax" by Associated Press | March 24, 2010

PARIS — France yesterday backed down from a plan to tax carbon dioxide emissions that had been a central plank of President Nicolas Sarkozy’s push for a more prominent role in the global fight against climate change.

PFFFFFFFFFFTT!

That's another reason you got pounded.

The plan, launched by Sarkozy with much fanfare in September, has been on the back burner since being ruled unconstitutional in December. Sarkozy’s government had insisted a reworked tax would go into force by July.

They never give up, and neither will I.

Jean-François Copé, a leading conservative legislator, said after meeting with the prime minister that they agreed that any carbon tax “would be Europe-wide or not [exist] at all.’’

I like that LAST OPTION there!

And see how their little EU is a laboratory for global government?

Prime Minister François Fillon’s office said in a statement later yesterday that the government would ask the European Commission to accelerate plans to harmonize environmental taxation across the continent.

Hey, let them contribute to their own demise because the whole project is going down.

The tax had been part of France’s plan to meet its pledge to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions fourfold from 1990 levels by 2050. Some environmental groups criticized the tax as not strict enough.

Pfft
!

Then you can pay more,
s***ters!

Many within Sarkozy’s own conservative party criticized the tax, arguing that it would put French companies at a disadvantage compared with European rivals.

The decision was made two days after the president’s UMP party suffered a stinging defeat in regional elections.

Get the message?

Sarkozy’s plan would have made France the largest economy to impose a carbon tax.

Well, not now.

"EU official’s French hurts Paris pride" by Associated Press | March 24, 2010

BRUSSELS — Lady Catherine Ashton, accused of being unqualified for her job as Europe’s foreign minister, has upset the French with her flawed command of what was once the language of international diplomacy.

Then they can't like my journal of this leg of the trip.

Her diplomatic response: I will learn better French.

Over the past two decades English has replaced French as the language most used in the halls of European Union institutions. So when Ashton was made head of EU foreign policy in November and predominantly used her native English, it hurt French pride. When she spoke French, it hurt their ears....

Same hear regarding what I hear every day from the Boston Globe.
