Occupation Iraq: Invasion Anniversary

I thought there would be more publicity and celebrating here, what with Bush winning the war and all.

So how did the Iraqis see it?

"War anniversary passes quietly; Iraqis preoccupied with the wait for election results" by Rebecca Santana, Associated Press | March 20, 2010

BAGHDAD — Seven years after the first bombs in the war to oust Saddam Hussein, Iraqis went about their business yesterday with little observance of the anniversary.

Perhaps more important in the minds of many was the wait for final results of the country’s second nationwide parliamentary election. The milestone will determine who will oversee Iraq as US forces go home, but it could also point the direction the fragile democracy will take down the road: either deeper into the sectarian divide that followed the fall of Hussein or toward a more secular, inclusive rule.

“Now we have democracy and freedom, but the cost was dire, and Iraqis have paid that price,’’ said Raid Abdul-Zahra, 38, a technician in Najaf.

All for a lie.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s coalition appears to be ahead in the tight race. With almost 90 percent of the vote counted by yesterday, his coalition was leading in seven of Iraq’s 18 provinces, compared with five provinces for his closest rival, the Iraqiya coalition led by secular Shi’ite Ayad Allawi.

Actually, Maliki lost.

Many, especially among the country’s Sunni minority that dominated Iraq during Hussein’s rule, blame the United States for the sectarian violence that erupted after the invasion.

Failure is the word that should be linked with the US war,’’ said Mohammed Thabit, a retired teacher from Hussein’s hometown of Tikrit.

Like ALL WARS, actually. They BENEFIT WAR PROFITEERS and BANKS and that's about it.

“The Americans brought people to power, but those people are specialized in reprisals, blackmail, inflaming sectarianism, and robbing.’’

Yeah, those are our guys.

While violence has plummeted since the height of the bloodshed in 2006 and 2007, attacks continue.

And yet, HOW RARELY do we read of such things?

At least four people were killed in bomb attacks yesterday across Iraq, and gunmen killed an Iraqi soldier in Baghdad.

I stand corrected, readers.

I must have missed this sentence stuck in the middle somehow.

Many Iraqis view the United States withdrawal plans with mixed feelings: pride that their country is regaining its full sovereignty but also concern that the lull in violence may break and bloodshed return.

Yeah, they want the occupier to stay, yup.

The shit shoveling has an automatic pilot, doesn't it, MSM?

“If the forces leave speedily, there will be a power vacuum and more problems will erupt because Iraqi forces are not loyal to Iraq but to their party affiliations,’’ said Abdul-Karim Moussa, 55, in Baghdad.

Was it as quiet here as in Iraq?

Well, yes and no, depending on who you ask and what source you rely on for information.

"Rally marks Iraq invasion; Antiwar protesters seek troops’ return" by Associated Press | March 21, 2010

WASHINGTON — Thousands of protesters carried signs that read “Indict Bush Now’’ and flag-draped cardboard coffins yesterday urging the immediate withdrawal of all troops sent into combat overseas.

Protesters rallied at Lafayette Park across from the White House and then began marching through downtown seven years after the US-led invasion of Iraq. Seven protesters, including activist Cindy Sheehan, were arrested after the rally.

See: Whose Streets? (Our Streets between 1pm and 4pm With a Permit)

Stops on the route include military contractor Halliburton, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and The Washington Post offices.

The protest — which called for the immediate withdrawal of troops sent to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan — drew a smaller crowd than the tens of thousands of people who marched in 2006 and 2007.

Yup, make sure you MINIMIZE any ANTI-AGENDA PROTESTS, 'eh, agenda-pushing MSM?

But organizers said many more people have become disenchanted with President Obama, who has pledged to withdraw troops from Iraq, because he ordered more troops into Afghanistan.

Yeah, I AM ONE of them! I was SO HAPPY when BUSH left town and now we find out he NEVER LEFT AT ALL he just CHANGED SKIN COLOR!

And that is it? Five dinky paragraphs?

I don't know. The photo is shot wrong but that looks like a lot of people.

Globe goes where there are not (page B3):

"In Natick, protests on war anniversary low-key this year" by Megan McKee, Globe Correspondent | March 21, 2010

NATICK — Yesterday’s peace demonstration was decidedly different from the one seven years ago when dozens of protesters squared off against police in riot gear and 18 demonstrators protesting the US invasion of Iraq were arrested after they blocked the gate to the Army Natick Soldier Systems Center.

About 20 people, including some who marched seven years ago, gathered yesterday on Natick Town Common and walked three-quarters of a mile down Route 27 to the entrance of the military research center.

Here they are:

The only police presence was a lone officer who helped the marchers cross Route 27, and the number of people expressing solidarity by honking their car horns seemed to equal those who participated.

Yeah, DON'T GET YOUR FAT ASS OUT of the CAR and JOIN 'EM or anything!

And MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, 'eh, readers?

PROTESTS DO NOT MATTER in AmeriKa, do they?

“Although our numbers may be small, our voices need to be heard,’’ said Rob Kearns, 43, of Walpole, a former Marine, a member of Veterans for Peace, and a regular attendee at any peace events.

Actually, 80% of the American people -- when they to release a rigged poll on the topic that says we are split -- are WITH YOU!

But WHERE ARE THEY? I don't know.

They DON'T EVEN WANT TO TALK about ANY OF THIS around here, sorry!

They AGREE with you but are NOT INTERESTED in even talking about it, much less doing anything.

Kearns choked up as he read aloud the names of Massachusetts soldiers who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan during the past year.

All for LIES!!

“Don’t give up. Don’t get discouraged,’’ Kearns told the crowd.

How can you not be after seven-plus years?

Things are going BACKWARD for God's sake!

Violence is never the answer. War is never the answer.’’

It is to the agenda-pushing jewspapers.

Yesterday’s protest comes on the heels of the deadliest year for American troops in Afghanistan as operations against Taliban insurgents there have picked up. Since taking office, President Obama has increased the US troop presence there troops by 47,000 to nearly 100,000.

Yeah, not the 30,000 the papers repeat over and over. It's more.

So expect more dead, too.

Good luck finding the reports in the war-promoting newspapers.

The numbers are not lost on people like Ed Shedd, 81, of Natick. “I was hoping they’d do something,’’ said Shedd of the current administration, for which he campaigned.

We all feel betrayed, Ed.

Shedd estimates he has spent 80 percent of his Saturdays over the past seven years — last week’s soaking weather included — attending a peace vigil on the Natick Town Common.

I stopped going down there about four years ago.

I was tired of being told "shhhh, shhhh," when I started talking 9/11 Truth.

And AmeriKans feel all warm about how great they are when they do such things.

I have found that an HOUR a WEEK is JUST WHAT the WAR-MONGERS WANT!

Nothing changes, we have the illusion of dissent, and the war machine rolls on.

The kind of protest needed is a COMPLETE CESSATION of ALL WORK and a BESIEGING of CITIES and CAPITALS for AS LONG as is NECESSARY!

That is the only way the EMPIRE will GRIND to a HALT! NON-VIOLENT, NON-COOPERATION for as LONG as it takes!

And I just don't see the distracted, diverted, and set-upon AmeriKan public up to the task. Having said that,

God Bless the few who turned out.

In that span, 5,378 American soldiers have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Of those, 100 were from Massachusetts. Thanks for

Demonstrators carried signs reading “War is a racket/A few profit, the many pay’’ and “End the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.’’

Grace Ross, who ran for governor as the Green-Rainbow candidate in 2006 and is hoping to get on this year’s Democratic ticket, attended, as did Sarah Fuhro, 68, one of the 18 people who were arrested on March 20, 2003, the day after Bush announced the Iraq invasion.

“I didn’t have any intention to be arrested, but I felt very strongly that we were making a very big mistake,’’ said Fuhro, who is a member of Military Families Speak Out and has a son who has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Not exactly a radical, 'eh, readers?

Of course, WHERE ARE all the YOUNG PEOPLE?!!!

That is something that I NOTICED MISSING!!

Don't you kids care about your futures, heck, YOUR very LIVES?

Or does the X-Box, iPhone, and the latest Zionist-induced cultural infatuation much more important?

Too busy sexting?

She acted as the event’s organizer, leading people from the common to the World War II and Korean War memorials up the street and finally to the sign marking the way to the Army center.

“It still feels like a mistake [all these] deaths later,’’ said Fuhro.

That's because it is, and was MORE THAN THAT!

It is a COLOSSAL, MASS-MURDERING WAR CRIME!!

But not even yesterday’s sunny, 70-degree weather could lure more than a core group of dedicated activists. Several attendees said they’d been involved in the peace movement since the 1980s, when the Cold War was in full swing.

“For the life of me, I can’t figure out why’’ so many people are apathetic, said Kearns.

I can, and it starts with the MSM entity you get when you click on the link below.

He said he spends sleepless nights worrying about the war.

I spend sleepless nights here.

“It’s hard for people in the peace movement to not get discouraged.’’

Oh, I'm not discouraged.

I REALIZE now that EMPIRES can NOT BE SAVED or REASONED WITH and I am going to stop appealing to those who do not want hear!

So TAKE ANOTHER BITE, USrael, because I know you are planning one.

It would be the BEST THING that can happen because the empire will SELF-IMPLODE over its OWN ARROGANCE and BANKRUPTCY like ALL EMPIRES!

And when it comes, it COMES QUICK!

Like in a matter of MONTHS, America!!!

Yeah, who really cares anyway anymore, right, war-promoting MSM?
