Yo, Yemen!

I don't know if they (or you) can hear me though the MSM filter.

Strange how once the Underwear Bomber got us in there the agenda-pushing coverage fell off a cliff, 'eh?

"Yemen slated to get $150m in US aid" by Associated Press | February 23, 2010

WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has approved $150 million in military assistance to Yemen, the country where Al Qaeda-linked militants planned the failed Christmas Day airliner attack over Detroit.

You have that kind of change kicking around for a lie, Americans?

Administration officials said the money was approved by Defense Secretary Robert Gates Friday and is more than double the amount of aid the US gave to Yemen last year. It will pay for military equipment and training for Yemeni forces.

But you get cuts in the cops here, etc, etc.

Now we are what, paying for Yemen to have a military?

The total is a sizable chunk of the $350 million that the Pentagon will dole out to allies this year, underscoring the significant terrorist threat officials believe is growing in Yemen. General David Petraeus, commander of US Central Command, had requested the additional money.

It's got to be a hell of a lot more than that!

Who do they think they are fooling? Israel gets like $6 billion a year, and Egypt isn't far behind.

Your tax dough, suffering, overburdened, and bankrupt Americans.

Officials spoke to the Associated Press about the funding on condition of anonymity because it has not been publicly announced.

Gates earlier this month signaled that aid to Yemen was a priority, telling Congress that helping Yemen’s leaders was better than sending in US forces.

I noticed you are last on the priorities list, American people.

In the past year, the Pentagon has provided money for aerial surveillance including drones, counterterrorism training by special operations forces and efforts to defeat roadside bombs, border and maritime security. and other equipment.

Yeah, so WE HAVE BEEN in there KILLING PEOPLE for a WHILE and its all on the hush-hush.

I don't, but watch AmeriKan television news and see how often they mention Yemen now (maybe once in some patsy trial that is being showcased, that's about it).

US officials have become increasingly worried about the threat of Al Qaeda terrorism taking hold in Yemen’s vast ungoverned spaces and have been pressing Yemeni officials to clamp down on the militants.

You know, do you know how sick I am of reading about "Al-CIA-Duh?"

You know, WHICH
"Al-CIA-Duh," would THAT be, hanh?

What do you mean Al Qaeda is a
CREATION for the COURTROOM!?

Excuse me, FBI?

In recent months, Yemeni forces have launched operations against insurgents, but government leaders say they need more equipment and aid for their security forces.

Does the word extortion ever enter our dunderheaded leaders minds?

Oh, right, CIA-Duh!

At the same time, the Yemeni officials are careful not to appear too close to the Americans, fearful it would cause a backlash among the population.

Hey, I'm sorry for the killing; let's come home, AmeriKa.

And NO DRONES (or SOFs) staying behind
!

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the 23-year-old Nigerian suspect in the Dec. 25 airliner bombing attempt, has been cooperating with the FBI and provided information about the Al Qaeda affiliate that operates in Yemen.

Yeah, that stoo-pid s*** of a patsy?

That the best the can do, ha-ha-ha!

Yeah, don't worry, propagandists. Xmas Day bombing is second only to 9/11 in the soft AmeriKan mind.

I mean, we all laugh at it and everyone knows it's bs, but if you say Xmas Day bombing everyone knows what you mean.

So what about, like, those ACTUAL OPERATIONS?

I know I heard there was some sort of
peace treaty, but.....

"2 TV networks raided in Yemen" by Associated Press | March 13, 2010

CAIRO — Yemeni authorities stormed offices of the two leading pan-Arab television networks and confiscated broadcasting equipment in an apparent response to their coverage of the country’s south, where a protest movement is pushing to restore the region’s independence.

It must be one the MSM does not like because whooosh, away it goes.

Qatari-owned Al-Jazeera and its rival Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya said yesterday that security agents stormed their offices in Yemen's capital, Sana, called their staff in for questioning, and seized live broadcasting equipment Thursday night.

Wow. Kind of UNDEMOCRATIC of them and all.

U.S, of course, will be cutting of ai.... what?

Information Minister Hassan al-Lozy said authorities acted against the stations because they had no license to operate their live broadcasting equipment, something the stations dispute.

The networks said they believed the raids were related to their coverage of the growing tension in the south, which threatens the impoverished nation’s stability along with a deepening Al Qaeda presence and a separate rebel insurgency in the north.

Okay, now look!

That northern thing with the Shi'ites -- and that's another thing; what is with the vague and nebulous descriptions of such, newspaper?

I thought you were to inform, not obfuscate and confuse -- is supposed to be tamped down and I've seen nothing in my Glob that indicated any military actions.

You are getting everything I am getting, readers. That's why I'm behind.

And I guess "Al-CIA-Duh" would be growing as get more involved.

Sigh.

Amid the turmoil, authorities have routinely pressured journalists, particularly over coverage of the government’s struggle on these three fronts and the military’s performance.

That's why this gets a mention. MSM likes to point it out even thought they never draw attention to that puke we can see pumping them from behind.

The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists said in a report in February that Yemen’s government is one of the most media repressive in the Middle East, banning some newspapers, blocking websites, and setting up a special court for cases involving media. Some journalists have also gone missing, the report said.

Hey, look, they are OUR FRIENDS from what I heard.

It's not like they are Iran!

The southern protest movement, fueled by claims of government neglect and discrimination, has become more violent as tensions have soared in recent weeks.

Go ahead, take a couple-click look. Glob MIA or what?

Eight activists and two policemen have been killed this month during a government crackdown.

The south, where 128 years of British rule ended in 1967, remained independent until 1990....

So MI6 has remnants and operatives milling about Yemen as well, 'eh?

I don't think you can, can you?

They are just talking to themselves.

"Saudis arrest 113 Al Qaeda suspects" by Associated Press | March 25, 2010

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia said yesterday that it has foiled several planned attacks on oil installations by arresting 113 suspected Al Qaeda militants in a monthslong sweep.

Ever hear of "catch-and-release," readers?

Yeah, they are a fish of sorts; nice scam the Saudis are running with us, isn't it?

Many of the suspects had come to Saudi Arabia on visas to visit holy sites or by sneaking across its borders, but wanted to join and organize attacks with Al Qaeda, the Interior Ministry said.

Saudi Arabia has aggressively pursued militants since a series of attacks inside the country that began in May 2003. The country is the birthplace of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

In August, Saudi authorities said they had rounded up 44 Al Qaeda-linked militants in a yearlong sweep.

The ministry statement said the latest arrests were carried out over five months. Those detained included 47 Saudis, 51 Yemenis, a Somali, an Eritrean, and a Bangladeshi.

Those last two make me laugh! Tossed in there to justify any military moves in any direction because Al-CIA-Duh could be comin' from anywhere, anytime, Amurkns!
