Slow Saturday Special: The Lord Works in Mysterious Ways

Does he ever! This post was originally going to be about global warming but it (sort of) turned into something else.

"The military also had to adjust. Five German soldiers wounded in Afghanistan were diverted to Turkey instead of Germany, while US medical evacuations for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are being flown directly from the warfronts to Washington rather than to a care facility in Germany. The US military has also stopped using temporarily closed air bases in the United Kingdom and Germany
."

Oh, my, could SOMEONE be SENDING a MESSAGE from ON HIGH!!

A SLOWING DOWN and INCONVENIENCE for the WAR PIGS?

I think SOMEONE or SOMETHING COSMIC is SENDING YOU a MESSAGE, war-mongers!!!

And I DON'T THINK you are GETTING IT!!!!

Okay, let's get you started with what was a simple photograph in the April 15 edition of my Boston Globe:

"FIRE AND ICE -- A volcano under a glacier in Iceland erupted yesterday for the second time in less than a month. Black smoke and white steam spewed into the air, and authorities evacuated 800 residents from Eyjafjallajokull as melting ice caused dangerous flooding.

Related: European Vacation: Iceland Blows Its Top

Okay, the first thing one notes is the screaming about glaciers disappearing because of "global warming." Toss that one.

The second is the smoke. Much like on 9/11, we say black, oxygen-starved smoke with no steam from firefighter water to make white (also the sign of an oxygen-rich fire). The similarities in pyroclastic flows only seals the suspicions.

And speaking of flows:

"Ash grounds European flights; Cloud forms after Iceland volcano erupts" by Jill Lawless, Associated Press | April 16, 2010

LONDON — An enormous ash cloud from a remote Icelandic volcano caused the biggest flight disruption since the 2001 terrorist attacks yesterday as it drifted over northern Europe and stranded travelers on six continents. Officials said it could take days for the skies to become safe again....

Then this must be big.

The cloud, floating miles above Earth and capable of knocking out jet engines, wrecked travel plans for tens of thousands of people, from tourists and business travelers to politicians and royals. Nonemergency flights in Britain were canceled, and most will stay grounded until at least midday today. Authorities in Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Belgium also closed their air space. France shut down 24 airports, including the main hub of Charles de Gaulle in Paris, Germany’s Berlin and Hamburg airports were shut last evening, and several flights out of the United States had to double back.

The ash caused the cancellation of at least a dozen flights between Europe and Boston’s Logan International Airport yesterday. British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and American Airlines scrapped flights to and from London; American and Air France each dropped a departure to Paris; and Aer Lingus scrubbed flights to and from Dublin. As of yesterday afternoon, none of today’s flights in and out of Logan had been canceled because of the volcano. This is one of the busiest times of the year at Logan, with families going on spring break overlapping with runners and spectators arriving for the Boston Marathon, which takes place Monday.

“We have been engaged in customer outreach on our website and on Facebook and Twitter, letting people know to check with their airlines,’’ said Logan spokesman Matthew Brelis. “We’re working with the airlines to reaccommodate people.’’ Kyla Evans, spokeswoman for air traffic service Eurocontrol, said half of all trans-Atlantic flights were expected to be canceled today.

At London’s Heathrow airport, normally one of the world’s busiest with more than 1,200 flights and 180,000 travelers a day, passengers stared forlornly at departure boards on which every flight was listed as canceled....

When it reaches something I care about I'll let you know. I don't want people flying until the airlines blow the whistle on the terror fraud.

Sorry for the inconvenience, folks, but I've been inconvenienced by lies for about seven years now and an getting pretty darn tired of that!

A volcano beneath Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull glacier began erupting Wednesday for the second time in less than a month, triggering floods and shooting smoke and steam miles into the air. About 700 people from rural areas near the volcano were evacuated yesterday because of flash flooding, as water carrying icebergs the size of small houses rushed down the mountain.

Well, the photo caption said 800, but I don't want to nitpick over "facts," sigh.

The Civil Protection Department said there could be damage to roads and other infrastructure. Video showed spectacular images of hot gases melting the thick ice, sending cascades of water thundering down the steep slopes of the volcano.

Dang global warm.... oh, right, volcano under the glacier.

Ever hold an ice cube out over a flame?

The ash cloud became a menace to air travel as it drifted south and east toward northern Europe — including Britain, about 1,200 miles away. The ash plume drifted at between 20,000 feet and 36,000 feet, where it could get sucked into airplane engines and cause them to shut down. The smoke and ash also could affect aircraft visibility.... In Washington, the Federal Aviation Administration said it was working with airlines to try to reroute some flights around the huge ash cloud, which is hundreds of miles wide. Flights from Asia, Africa, South America, Australia, and the Middle East to Heathrow and other top European hubs were also put on hold.

Yes, a MENACE from Mother Nature -- and we all know for whom she works!

Okay, drifting, drifting, drifting.....

"With ash drifting, much of Europe still a no-fly zone; State funeral in Poland may be affected" by Jill Lawless, Associated Press | April 17, 2010

LONDON — Thick drifts of volcanic ash blanketed parts of rural Iceland yesterday as a vast, invisible plume of grit drifted over Europe, emptying the skies of planes and sending hundreds of thousands of people in search of hotel rooms, train tickets, or rental cars.

Polish officials worried that the ash cloud could threaten the arrival of world leaders for tomorrow’s state funeral for President Lech Kaczynski and his wife, Maria, in the southern city of Krakow.

I wasn't laughing.

:-(

So far, President Obama, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are among those coming, and no one has canceled. Kaczynski’s family insisted yesterday that they wanted the funeral to go forward as planned, but there was no denying the ash cloud was moving south and east.

What, is that a problem for MSM and government?

The air traffic agency Eurocontrol said almost two-thirds of Europe’s flights were canceled yesterday, as airspace remained largely closed in Britain and across large chunks of north and central Europe. “The skies are totally empty over northern Europe,’’ said Brian Flynn, deputy head of Eurocontrol, adding “there will be some significant disruption of European air traffic tomorrow.’’

The agency said about 16,000 of Europe’s usual 28,000 daily flights were canceled yesterday — twice as many as were canceled a day earlier. US airlines canceled 280 of the more than 330 trans-Atlantic flights of a normal day, and about 60 flights between Asia and Europe were canceled. The International Air Transport Association said the volcano was costing the industry at least $200 million a day.

I have a whistle for you to blow.

Southern Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull glacier began erupting for the second time in a month on Wednesday, sending ash several miles into the air. Winds pushed the plume south and east across Britain, Ireland, Scandinavia, and into the heart of Europe. Gray ash settled in drifts near the glacier, swirling in the air and turning day into night.

That must be quiet a surreal experience.

Doesn't crap like this usually cool the hell out of the planet?

Like what they once-called a nuclear winter, right?

Dust and debris blocking out the sun.

Authorities told people in the area with respiratory problems to stay indoors, and advised everyone to wear masks and protective goggles outside.

Hope they owned some!

In major European cities, travel chaos reigned. Extra trains were put on in Amsterdam and lines to buy train tickets were so long that the rail company handed out free coffee....

The disruptions hit tourists, business travelers, and dignitaries alike. Merkel had to go to Portugal rather than Berlin as she flew home from a US visit. Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg managed to get a flight to Madrid from New York but was still not sure when or how he would get back home.

You know, I was just wondering WHY all the CARBON FOOTPRINTS on TAXPAYER DIMES? The HYPOCRISY kind of KILLS the CLAIM -- along with glacier going boom because of the volcano under it.

The military also had to adjust. Five German soldiers wounded in Afghanistan were diverted to Turkey instead of Germany, while US medical evacuations for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are being flown directly from the warfronts to Washington rather than to a care facility in Germany. The US military has also stopped using temporarily closed air bases in the United Kingdom and Germany.

Aviation specialists said it was among the worst disruptions Europe has ever seen.

“We don’t have many volcanoes in Europe,’’ said David Learmount of Flight International, an aviation publication. “The wind was blowing in the wrong direction.’’

The ash cloud, drifting between 20,000 to 30,000 feet high and invisible from the ground, initially blocked the main air flight path between the US East Coast and Europe. Yesterday, the cloud’s trajectory was taking it over northern France and Austria and into eastern and central Russia at about 25 miles per hour. Fearing that microscopic particles of highly abrasive ash could endanger passengers by causing aircraft engines to fail, authorities shut down airspace over Britain, Ireland, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Belgium....

Airspace restrictions were lifted, imposed, or extended yesterday as the cloud moved....

Germany shut down all of its international airports....

Airspace restrictions in Scotland and Northern Ireland have been lifted, and Irish aviation authorities reopened airports in Dublin and Cork....

Belgium extended its flight restrictions until late this morning....

Meanwhile, out Boston way

"A distant cloud, a day of disruption; Seventy-five percent of transatlantic flights from Logan canceled, as volcano plume drifts and grows" by Katie Johnston Chase and Gal Tziperman Lotan, Globe Staff | Globe Correspondent | April 17, 2010

As marathon runners attempted to fly into Boston and students on spring break struggled to fly out, 75 percent of the flights between Logan International Airport and Europe were canceled yesterday due to the volcano eruption in Iceland, with more cancellations likely in the days to come.

Which means a FURTHER SLOWING of the WAR MACHINE, right?

Airlines canceled about 25 flights between Logan and London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, and Zurich yesterday. In Europe, nearly two-thirds of all flights were scrapped because of the thick cloud of volcanic ash, which can damage plane engines....

Rebooking the hundreds of thousands of travelers affected will take days, and people are being advised to check with the airlines. And there’s a chance things could get worse....

“This thing hasn’t even blown its top yet,’’ said Thomas Kinton, chief executive of Massachusetts Port Authority, which runs Logan....

Which is good because I've already blown mine; that's why I'm calm.

And it really is terrible to say this; however, it is completely out of my hands so BLOW, BABY, BLOW!!

That would mean NO ATTACK on IRAN NOW, wouldn't it?!

And JUST WHEN it was SO CLOSE!!!

I think I see a HAND of SOME HIGHER BEING at work, readers!!!

Another sign from the Almighty:

"Volcanic vent may host new species" by ASSOCIATED PRESS | April 13, 2010

LONDON — Scientists using a remote-controlled submarine have discovered the deepest known volcanic vent. They say the superheated waters inside could contain undiscovered marine species and perhaps clues to the origin of life.

Yeah, but the ocean water is warming because of global warming.

PFFFFFFT
!!

Possible natural explanation found for West Antarctica's warming

"The cultists have been screaming that the warmer temperatures in west Antarctica were proof of human-caused global warming. Nope. There's a volcano down there." --Wake the flock up

Yup, found another one!

They found the vent more than 3 miles beneath the surface of the Caribbean in the Cayman Trough, a deep-sea canyon that served as the setting for James Cameron’s underwater thriller “The Abyss.’’

Related: Why AmeriKans Hate Avatar

I personally rank Titanic above it; however, that is me.

No argument here if you wish to gainsay me.

Geologist Bramley Murton, the submersible’s pilot, said exploring the area was “like wandering across the surface of another world,’’ complete with spires of multicolored mineral deposits and thick collections of fluorescent blue microorganisms.

Pandora??

The hand of the Lord opened the vent?

Volcanic vents are areas where seawater seeps into cracks that penetrate deep into the earth’s crust — some reaching down more than a mile. Temperatures there can reach 750 degrees.

But the water is warm because of global warming, pfft.

The blazing hot, mineral-rich fluid is expelled into the cold of the deep ocean, creating a smokelike effect and leaving towering chimneys of metal ore. The spectacular pressure — 500 times stronger than the earth’s atmosphere — keeps the water from boiling.

It is Pandora -- or Atlantis!

The environment may appear brutal: Intense heat and pressure combine with toxic metals to form a highly acidic cocktail. But the vents host lush colonies of exotic animals, such as blind shrimp, giant white crabs, and larg, red-lipped tubeworms, whose lack of any apparent digestive system once left scientists scratching their heads.

They seem to be doing a LOT of that lately when it comes to LIFE!!!!

Lots of LIFE down there in the chilly ocean depths, 'eh?

At the base of this ecosystem are chemical-eating bacteria that draw on hydrogen sulfide and methane from the vents to make food.

I just can't but help think that HIGHER FORCES are at work!!!

"Long-delayed European satellite to gauge melting of ice packs" by Associated Press | April 8, 2010

BERLIN — The European Space Agency is launching a sophisticated satellite that scientists hope will help them more precisely gauge the effects of global warming on the earth’s ice packs by accurately measuring the thickness of the ice....

HA!!! Why don't you check UNDER the EARTH!!!

Yeah, I would say the scientists in this field are way out in space!!!

So when do we start measuring the thickness of their heads?

Though most scientists agree that global warming is significantly affecting the ice sheets, many also say too little is known with certainty....

Related: April Fools Day

Hey, look, they even have a day named after them.

Earlier satellites helped lay the groundwork for decades’ worth of research on the Arctic and Antarctic ice sheets, but those have gone out of operation without being replaced in time, said Heinrich Miller, one of the CryoSat 2 project directors....

Look, I don't care how many satellites (all that fuel making global warming worse to get the thing up there?) the liars send, they have lost the trust.

My senses tell me so after the last few seasons (yes, another cold spring, readers).

And besides, someone from the heavenly sphere you satellites are headed to has tipped his hand.
