The Heat is Off in New Hampshire

If you are a corporation:

"Utility ruled not liable in shutoff death

A county attorney says a utility that shut off electricity to a woman who used a respirator and died bears no criminal responsibility.

This is AmeriKa after all!

The New Hampshire Union Leader reported that Rockingham County Attorney James Reams said that what happened to Kay Phaneuf of Salem in June was an accident and National Grid’s conduct exceeded regulations. Reams wrote in a report Tuesday that National Grid and Phaneuf corresponded about a medical condition she had and the need for a protection notice on her account. Such notices must be renewed every 90 days. Phaneuf was warned May 15 it would expire because of bill nonpayment and lack of a physician confirmation. (AP)."
