Cleaning Up Connecticut Beer Spill

"Plant reopens solemnly after slayings

Employees at a Connecticut beer distributor where nine people were shot to death nine days ago paused yesterday to remember the victims before returning to work. Hartford Distributors Inc. reopened its Manchester offices and warehouse after workers observed a moment of silence in the parking lot and company president Ross Hollander offered words of encouragement to employees. Omar Thornton shot eight people to death, wounded two others, and killed himself on Aug. 3 after he resigned over stealing beer (AP)."

ENFIELD, Conn. — Court records say the man who shot to death eight co-workers at a beer distribution company in Connecticut was seen providing two kegs and several cases of stolen beer to a woman.

That woman, 33-year-old Christy Quail of Enfield, was arrested three days after the Aug. 3 shootings and charged with receiving stolen property from Omar Thornton.

An affidavit, first obtained by The Journal Inquirer of Manchester, said Quail is the wife of a former employee at Hartford Distributors who knew Thornton. Her husband has not been charged.

Authorities say they have video recordings of Thornton loading two kegs one day and five cases of beer another day into Quail’s car.

Thorton fatally shot himself after killing his co-workers.
