"4-alarm fire ruins mill complex building
Firefighters from several Western Massachusetts communities battled a four-alarm fire that broke out in a mill complex off South Main Street in Orange yesterday, fire officials said. Most of the complex was abandoned, but the fire gutted a building that housed a fiberglass manufacturing company, officials said. State Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan, who helped coordinate the efforts of small fire departments, said the firefighters’ aggressive actions kept the blaze from spreading beyond one building. One firefighter was treated at a hospital for injuries not life-threatening."

"One killed, two injured in Route 2 crash

A North Adams woman was killed and several other people injured in a three-vehicle accident in Orange on Friday, according to State Police. Anne Hill, 59, was driving eastbound on Route 2 at about 3:15 p.m. when her Toyota Matrix veered into oncoming traffic, State Police said. The Matrix struck vehicles operated by Catherine Runge, 25, of Quincy, and John F. Maguire III, 45, of Stow. Hill was pronounced dead at Athol Memorial Hospital, while Runge and Maguire suffered minor injuries, said police. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours after the crash, police said."  

That is the most dangerous road out here.

"Two are killed as plane crashes in Orange

Two people died last night when the small plane they were in crashed shortly after takeoff from the municipal airport of the north-central Massachusetts town of Orange, authorities said....
