"Palestinian groups agree to unity pact" May 04, 2011|By Maggie Michael, Associated Press
CAIRO — Fifteen Palestinian factions, including militant Islamic groups, endorsed a reconciliation deal yesterday meant to end a four-year rift between the two major Palestinian political movements, Hamas and Fatah....
You get that? The "terrorists" endorsed it.

Yeah, once you realize the prism you are seeing the news through the agenda-pushing terminology all makes sense.
Hamas won parliamentary elections in 2006 and formed a short-lived unity government with Fatah the next year.
What? The TRUTH in the PAPER? No violent seizure of the strip!?
The alliance collapsed into civil war after several months, culminating with Hamas forces overrunning Gaza and expelling Fatah from the coastal territory.
Btw, Hamas foiled a COUP ATTEMPT!!!!

"Former Palestinian enemies agree to reconcile; Hamas, Fatah cite joint goal: statehood" May 05, 2011|By Ethan Bronner, New York Times
CAIRO — Rival Palestinian movements signed a historic reconciliation accord here yesterday vowing common cause against Israeli occupation, a product of shifting regional power relations and disillusionment with US peace efforts.
I really, really wish by stink-s*** government would make the connection and cut those f***ers loose.
Mahmoud Abbas, the leader of the Fatah movement and — at least until now — a US ally, joined forces with Khaled Meshal, the Syria-based leader of Hamas, the Islamist group that rejects Israel’s existence and accepts arms and training from Iran....
It's the propaganda operation at full bore!!

"Hamas would abide by any PLO negotiations"
I only put that up to SHOW YOU WHAT DAMN LIARS the STINK-CRAP is the AmeriKan media!!
The forces that produced this reconciliation deal are many — the changes in Egypt, the troubles of the government in Syria, the failure of peace negotiations with Israel, and Abbas’s plans to retire with a lasting legacy.
Now you know who Israel views as the enemy.
But the efforts of Abbas to join hands with Hamas also underscore his determination to pursue Palestinian statehood unilaterally and his willingness to risk a major rupture with the United States and Israel.
That's what you do to people who are now irrelevant.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, visiting London, denounced the pact as “a tremendous blow to peace and a great victory for terrorism.’’
I think I can speak for the rest of the world when I say we are sick of the lying, whining garbage from war criminals.
The Obama administration has been cautious, saying it needs more details. In a sign of declining relations, Abbas gave the administration no warning of the deal first publicized last week.
Much about the pact remains to be determined — how it will define resistance, whether the two sides’ militaries can be coordinated, and what happens to US and European aid. But it was agreed that a government of unaffiliated technocrats would prepare for elections across the West Bank and Gaza within a year....
Yesterday, Abbas saluted Palestinian youngsters who had taken to the streets on March 15. Compared with other recent uprisings, that rally in Gaza City was small potatoes — 10,000 calling for unity between Hamas and Fatah.
Small potatoes, but one hell of an effect.
But it was the biggest turnout for an unauthorized demonstration in four years of Hamas rule. It was an indication of rising public discontent, the first clear indication that the regional earthquake would not spare the Palestinians....
They came out to protest for unity, not overthrow!
This is what is passing for a newspaper in AmeriKa these days?
Hamas had rejected a very similar unity agreement signed by Fatah nearly two years ago but, in truth, that offer was halfhearted.
Media has to add that qualifier -- meaning SO MUCH of what they tell you is NOT TRUE!
Abbas, along with his allies, the old Egyptian government of Hosni Mubarak, the United States, and Israel, wanted Hamas to be seen as the problem....
What, after they MADE THEM to SPLIT PALESTINIANS and then CREATED FATAH to SPLIT PALESTINIANS?
The deal appeals to Hamas in part because it would remake the Palestine Liberation Organization, the overarching authority of Palestinian politics that now excludes Hamas. A committee to study changes will include the leaders of all the Palestinian factions — including Hamas — and could end up being the main power in the coming year....
I would say they ALREADY ARE!
The Palestinian Legislative Council, the parliament where Hamas won a majority in 2006 elections, will also be revived.
Oh my goodness, TRUTH BE TOLD AGAIN!
What is WRONG with my ZIONIST MEDIA? How did that EVER SLIP THROUGH AGAIN?!!
Hamas’s rising influence could well mean that the United States could cut off hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to the Palestinians.
So what? They will get the money someplace else without all the strings.

"France supports plan for unilateral declaration of Palestinian state; Move could come if talks with Israel remain stalled" May 06, 2011|By Greg Keller and Josef Federman, Associated Press
PARIS — President Nicolas Sarkozy of France says he will support a unilateral declaration of Palestinian independence if peace talks with Israel do not restart by September, dealing a tough setback to Israel’s campaign to isolate the incoming Palestinian unity government.
The comments published yesterday — similar to a message from Britain a day earlier — suggest Europe may be inching toward a watershed moment, joining those in favor of recognizing Palestine even if there is no peace deal with Israel.
But German Chancellor Angela Merkel reiterated yesterday that she is opposed to any unilateral move.
Translation: She doesn't want a nuke bomb going off in her country or her helicopter falling out of the sky.
Germany does not “think unilateral steps are further helpful,’’ she said after meeting Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in Berlin.
Sarkozy’s comments were published shortly before his meeting with visiting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, who is touring Europe to rally opposition against the Palestinians’ decision to form a unity government. Netanyahu said it is impossible to talk peace with a government that includes the Islamic militant group Hamas.
More like it is impossible to talk peace with a land-stealing, mass-murdering, war-criminal nest of thieves.
But so far, Netanyahu appears to be making limited progress. Western governments have called on Hamas to moderate its views but are also urging Israel to make a new push for peace.
Speaking to the weekly newsmagazine L’Express, Sarkozy was quoted as saying if talks between Israel and the Palestinians do not resume over the summer, France will help promote the international recognition of a Palestinian state.
“The idea that we have time is a dangerous idea,’’ Sarkozy said. “We must finish.’’
Speaking briefly to reporters after leaving the Elysee Palace, Netanyahu was unconvinced.
“A serious quest for peace can only happen through negotiations’’ between Israel and the Palestinians, “not a UN dictat,’’ he said.
And how exactly did you get that piece of dirt you are constantly expanding at the expense of Palestinians?
And he suggested he had no doubts about Hamas’s intentions.
“Hamas unfortunately remains committed to our destruction and remains committed to pursue the war of terror,’’ he said. “In fact, what is being discussed [by the Palestinians] today is to create a Palestinian state in order to improve the positions from which Hamas wants to drive Israel to the sea.’’
Given what I linked above about Hamas accepting negotiations you can see what lying jerks are the Zionist leaders of Israel.
I'm SICK of the LIES, sick of the EXTREME HYPERBOLE, and SICK of the WHINING MANIPULATION! When YOU and YOUR ILK, sir, start BEHAVING LIKE CIVILIZED HUMAN BEINGS and not WAR-MONGERING MARAUDERS then I might will listen.
He said the idea of a state should be to end “the conflict as Israel and anybody interested in peace wants,’’ not “to continue the conflict as Hamas wants.’’
What you realize is that everything Irael accuses of others is something of which they themselves are guilty.
If Palestinian national unity “is unity for peace then we would be the first to support it,’’ Netanyahu said “But if it’s unity to move away from peace and to pursue the battle for Israel’s eradication then obviously we oppose it, and so should everyone else.’’
How can that be after ALL the BILLIONS in U.S. MILITARY AID and ARMAMENTS (including WMD and DU munitions dumped on Palestinians and Lebanese) and ALL the STOLEN TERRITORY?!
It is simply something that IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN and the WHOLE WORLD RECOGNIZES IT! That is why they are TRYING TO GET a PEACE DEAL and a PALESTINIAN STATE!
And this thing about EVERYONE SHOULD AGREE with ISRAEL is OUTRAGEOUS!
**************
With peace talks stalled for months, Palestinian officials say they will ask the United Nations to recognize their independence in September with or without an agreement with Israel.
Palestinians say their state should include the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with East Jerusalem as the capital....
Palestine is already recognized by dozens of countries but not by the United States or most European nations. France’s endorsement would be a major setback to Israel and could spark a trend.
Like some forces of history, it has become unstoppable.
In a key step for their UN campaign, Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah agreed Wednesday to form a unity government and end a four-year rift that has left them divided between rival leaderships in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Fatah, which dominates the West Bank government, favors a peace agreement with Israel, while the Iranian-backed Hamas government in Gaza opposes Israel’s existence....
