Canton police made the largest marijuana bust in the department’s history Friday, Chief Kenneth Berkowitz said.
Acting on a tip that a shipment of marijuana was coming in to Canton, police apprehended a suspect and seized about 300 pounds of marijuana valued at approximately $1 million. Sealed in dozens of plastic bags, the marijuana was stacked on tables at the Canton police station Tuesday as Berkowitz described the arrest.
“It happened very quickly,” he said. “We set up surveillance and moved in to arrest him.”
