"Protesters burn Bosnian government buildings" by Aida Cerkez | Associated Press, February 08, 2014
SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina — Antigovernment protesters stormed into the Bosnian presidential building and another government buildings in Sarajevo and set them ablaze Friday as riot police fired tear gas in a desperate attempt to stop them.
Smoke was rising from several cities as thousands vented their fury over the Balkan nation’s almost 40 percent unemployment and its rampant corruption.
Yup.
It was the worst social unrest the country has seen since the 1992-95 war that killed over 100,000 people following Yugoslavia’s dissolution.
As night fell Friday, downtown Sarajevo was in chaos, with buildings and cars burning and riot police in full gear chasing protesters and pounding batons against their shields to get the crowd to disperse.
Nearly 200 people were injured throughout the country in clashes with police, medical workers reported.
Bosnians have many reasons to be unhappy as general elections approach in October.
The privatization that followed the war decimated the middle class and sent the working class into poverty as a few tycoons flourished.
Sound familiar, Americans?

"Protests subside after palace burned
SARAJEVO— Bosnians swept up the rubble Saturday after protesters set fire to the presidential building and other government buildings in the country’s worst social unrest since its devastating war. A few hundred people continued to protest peacefully in the capital, Sarajevo, and other cities, angry about the nation’s almost 40 percent unemployment rate and rampant corruption. Local officials promised to make changes (AP)."
Why does it take such an outburst for them to offer lip service?
"A European Union prosecutor on Friday indicted 15 former ethnic Albanian rebels suspected of torturing, mistreating, and murdering civilians detained in central Kosovo during the 1998-99 war against Serbia. Many of those indicted are members of the ruling Democratic Party of Kosovo of Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, who led the rebel Kosovo Liberation Army in its fight against Serbian troops."
What did they do with the organs?

"Croatia approves gay marriage ban" Associated Pres, December 02, 2013
ZAGREB, Croatia — A majority of Croatians voted in a referendum Sunday to ban same-sex marriages in what was a major victory for the Catholic Church-backed conservatives in the European Union’s newest nation....
65 percent to 34 percent
The result meant that Croatia’s constitution will be amended to ban same-sex marriage.
The vote has deeply divided Croatia. Liberal groups have said the referendum’s question infringes on basic human rights. The Church-backed groups have gathered 750,000 signatures in its support.
Referendum results signal that conservative forces have been gaining strength in Croatia amid the deepening economic crisis and widespread joblessness.
The country of 4.4 million, which became EU’s 28th member in July, has taken steps to improve gay rights, but issues such as same-sex marriage remain sensitive in the staunchly Catholic nation....
Croatia’s center-left government drafted a law to let gay couples register as ‘‘life partners.’’
*****************
Croatia’s liberal president, Ivo Josipovic, said he voted against amending the constitution. He said that the government is preparing a law to allow some rights to gays and lesbians living together.
‘‘The referendum result must not be the reason for new divisions,’’ Josipovic said. ‘‘We have serious economic and social problems. It’s not worth it to focus on such issues.’’
Then why did you guys bring it up!!??
