Slow Saturday Special: Hagel's Huffing and Puffing on Iran

Then Israel not liking him was all a bunch of bs, huh?

"International nuclear inspectors will visit two sites in Iran in the coming days, the nation’s official news agency said Sunday, as an official said that would fulfill a series of demands made by the United Nations nuclear watchdog."

Still not good enough for some people.

"UN’s nuclear inquiry on Iran falters | Associated Press   May 13, 2014

VIENNA — A once-promising UN attempt to investigate suspicions that Tehran worked on atomic arms is falteringand with it, hopes that Iran and six world powers can meet their July target date for a comprehensive nuclear deal.

I never had much hope because I know my government is looking for any excuse to scuttle the deal and attack Iran. It's last on the neo-con list.

With efforts to draft the text of an agreement starting in Vienna on Wednesday, both sides say that meeting the informal July 20 deadline remains possible. The US administration gives it a 50-50 chance, and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif recently said the talks are progressing at an ‘‘unexpectedly fast pace.’’

**************

But the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency is no nearer to closing the books on persistent allegations that Iran worked on nuclear arms in the past. While the IAEA’s probe is formally separate from the talks, the United States and its allies insist that Tehran must provide satisfactory explanations as part of any deal.

And all the EUSraeli empire has to say is unsatisfactory.

Back in November, Tehran agreed to go into deeper explanations of its work on detonators that have a variety of uses, including sparking a nuclear explosion.

It is so sad that the Iranians are working hard as hell to AVOID WAR, and yet I got a shit government over here looking to find one anywhere it can.

Makes you wonder WHEN is the NEXT USraeli-designed FALSE FLAG?

That has not happened. Three diplomats said Monday that in a recent formal response, Iran continues to insist that there is no nuclear link to the detonators.

"Iran nuclear talks go into recess on disappointing note" by George Jahn | Associated Press   May 17, 2014

VIENNA — Iran nuclear talks stalled Friday, casting a shadow on earlier advances and denting hopes that Tehran and six world powers will meet a July 20 target date for a deal meant to curb Iran’s atomic program while ending sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

That will make some hopeful.

Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged the meeting made ‘‘no progress’’ in its ambitious goal of starting to draft an agreement meant to ease a decade of Western distrust about Tehran’s nuclear agenda in exchange for sanctions relief.

In that, ‘‘we failed,’’ he told reporters. But while saying he was disappointed, he insisted that the result of the three-day talks that ended Friday represented no more than a setback at this point in continuing attempts to reach a deal.

I'm astonished that the Iranians can remain so optimistic.

***********

The failure to advance diminished a sense of optimism that had been growing since talks began Feb. 18. But while diplomats had spoken of some progress before the three-day round that ended Friday, they had also warned of difficult talks ahead on some issues, such as Iran’s enrichment program.

In Jerusalem on Friday, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel pledged to Israeli leaders that the United States ‘‘will do what we must’’ to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran, the Jewish state’s greatest fear.

WTF, Hagel? What do they have on you?

Hagel made the public pledge after talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. ‘‘I want to assure you of the United States’ commitment to ensuring Iran does not get a nuclear weapon — and that America will do what we must to live up to that commitment,’’ Hagel said.

Don't hyperventilate giving the blow job, Chuck.

Standing beside Hagel, Netanyahu said, ‘‘We've been saying all along that Iran is trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the international community.’’ He urged a clear and firm stand by world powers.

Do it yourself, asshole. I'm sick of America fighting Israel's wars like an rabid attack dog.

Iran says it has no interest in nuclear arms, and wants to enrich only to make reactor fuel.

And all the available evidence to date proves them out.

But because the technology can also create weapons-grade uranium for warheads, Washington and its allies want strict constraints on its size and scope.

Would we accept such things on our nuclear programs? Obummer wants more nuclear power plants.

Araghchi said differences remained on more than a dozen issues and a Western official with detailed knowledge of the talks said enrichment was among the most divisive topic.

It is their LEGAL RIGHT!

Iran’s nuclear chief, Ali Akbar Salehi, has said publicly that Tehran needs up to 100,000 centrifuges — the enriching machines — for a future nuclear network.

That’s about five times as many as the centrifuges Iran now has standing but idle, 10 times that of the machines actually enriching — and much more than the few thousand that diplomats say the United States and its allies are prepared to allow.

They aren't even making any material right now? They have shut down enrichment? And Hagel is out sounding the war cry?

Related differences focus on length of constraints on enrichment and other nuclear activities that could be proliferation-relevant. The diplomats say the United States and other Western countries want decade-long limits, whereas Tehran is pushing only for a few years before all restrictions are lifted.

Yeah, make unreasonable demands you know Iran will not agree to and then say it was them!

A senior US official who demanded anonymity said....

Who cares what they said?

And the Iranians still want to talk, can you believe it?

"Iran admiral: US ships are a target in case of war" by Ali Akbar Dareini | Associated Press   May 07, 2014

TEHRAN — Iran will target American aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf should a war between the two countries ever break out, the naval chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard warned Tuesday as the country completes work on a large-scale mock-up of a US carrier.

Complete with boondoggles and fraud?

The remarks by Admiral Ali Fadavi, who heads the hard-line Guard’s naval forces, were a marked contrast to moderate President Hassan Rouhani’s recent outreach policies toward the West — a reminder of the competing viewpoints that exist at the highest levels within the Islamic Republic.

Iran is building a simple replica of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz to be used in military exercises, an Iranian newspaper confirmed last month. Fadavi was quoted Tuesday by the semiofficial Fars news agency as saying the immense size of the US carriers makes them an easy target.

‘‘Aircraft carriers are the symbol of America’s military might,’’ he said. ‘‘The carriers are responsible for supplying America’s air power. So, it’s natural that we want to sink the carriers.’’

Oh, then I would BE PREPARED for a LUSITANIA or MAINE or USS LIBERTY type of FALSE FLAG in the PERSIAN GULF SOON! No doubt an Israeli dolphin sub could sneak in and take down a U.S. carrier -- and then Obummer will be on TV condemning the dastardly deed and off we go!

Well, WE WON'T BE FOOLED AGAIN!

The Revolutionary Guard’s naval forces are primarily based in and around the Gulf and include a number of missile boats and fast-attack vessels. The commander said the Guard navy has carried out exercises targeting mock-ups of American warships. In one case, he said, it took 50 seconds to destroy one of the simulated warships.

Tasnim, another semiofficial news agency close to the Guard, reported that an investigation has found that the Nimitz-class carriers used by the United States could be seriously damaged or destroyed if 24 missiles were fired simultaneously.

I have no reason to doubt that because I have heard similar things.

An American Navy official in the Gulf was dismissive of the Iranian claims, and of the simulated carrier in particular.

That kind of HUBRIS is the kind of thing that gets an empire its ass handed to it.

Remember, Iran has already brought down a US drone and reverse engineered it. Despite the pile of cash AmeriKa has thrown into the war machine, most of it was for looting purposes. The cost overrun equipment is mostly shit.

‘‘Whatever Iran hopes to do with the mock-up, it is likely to have zero impact on US Navy operations in the Gulf,’’ said Commander Jason Salata, a spokesman for the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet.

Up until the ships are sunk, then....
