"California Blaze.... Firefighters took positions as a hillside burned yesterday in the Sepulveda Pass on the western edge of Los Angeles. One hundred acres burned, threatening homes, but the blaze was extinguished without loss or injury. About 400 firefighters, with the help of eight water-dropping helicopters, fought the flames for seven hours."
