Everyday Gay

You can't tell me it's not agenda-pushing anymore.

Much too prevalent in the paper.

I'm not the only one who has noticed:

"This list shows the extreme concentration of a particular political power base in respect of the gay movement and who is behind it."

Others have also noticed: Support Zionism or else

Yup, somehow, someway, it always makes the agenda-pushing paper.

"Calif. Supreme Court to rule on same-sex marriage ban Tuesday" by Jessica Garrison and Maura Dolan, Los Angeles Times | May 23, 2009

LOS ANGELES - Even before the court acts, gay-rights activists - braced for defeat - are preparing to use the occasion to jump-start the next political campaign for same-sex marriage. They are planning news conferences, vigils, and marches from Los Angeles to the Oregon border....

And no doubt we'll be hearing about each and every one of them in the agenda-pushing papers.

"A voice that echoes" by Linda K. Kerber | May 23, 2009

Suddenly her ruling - that the Massachusetts Department of Public Health had to issue marriage licenses to Hillary and Julie Goodridge and six other same-sex couples - has come to seem the common sense of the matter....

Marshall's words on the subject of equality are among her most forceful. She relied on the Massachusetts Constitution, which " affirms the dignity and equality of all individuals. It forbids the creation of second-class citizens . . . [and] protects matters of personal liberty against government incursion as zealously, and often more so, than does the Federal Constitution."

Yeah, they are protecting my liberty by taxing us to death, wanting to tax mileage with a phart chip, are preparing mandatory innoculations, etc, etc.

Five years after the first same-sex weddings in Massachusetts, gay and lesbian couples express deeply traditional reasons for deciding to wed and cite equally conventional benefits flowing from marriage, according to a study being released this week.

So we will be hearing about it all week long!

Why is this my Sunday Metro lead if not for agenda-pushing purposes?

A significant majority of the 558 gay men and women surveyed said that since marrying, they feel more committed to their spouses, more accepted in their community, and more likely to be open about their sexual orientation at work.

The survey indicates that there is something universal about the legal protections and social advantages afforded by the institution of marriage, said the study's authors from the University of California, Los Angeles as well as independent researchers. And it suggests, they said, that a ritual once scorned even by many same-sex couples has the power to ease discrimination.

Stephanie Coontz author of "Marriage, A History" and a professor at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash.:

"This really helps us confirm and makes us understand why same-sex couples demand marriage - if it's just about the legal rights, why wouldn't they be happy with civil partnerships? They want access to that word that is so highly valued by our society and by other people. It is one thing not to invite your child's girlfriend or boyfriend to dinner. It is quite another thing not to invite the spouse."

Don'yt worry; you ain't getting one anyway.

What they really want is access to the deceased's money and benefits.

So how long until alimony enters the picture?

Why should heteros have all the fun?

The study was prepared and paid for by UCLA's Williams Institute, which examines legal and public policy issues related to sexual orientation and is funded by foundations and individuals, including supporters of gay marriage.

What, as if opponents are also contributing?

Enough with the half-truths, omissions, and agenda-pushing lies, 'kay, MSM?!!!!!!

F***ing SELF-SERVING STUDY!!!!

Researchers asked whether respondents' children had faced taunting as a result of their parents' same-sex marriage - only 5 percent had - but did not ask how happily married partners were.

Translation: it was a rigged survey, and the hate crimes are obvious false flags.

The marriage questions were included in a larger online health survey conducted this month by the state Department of Public Health.

WTF is the STATE doing WASTING TIME and MONEY POLLING GAY COUPLES?!

Yup, THIS is why you need a TAX INCREASE!

The agency found potential respondents through a database maintained by the gay rights group MassEquality, which includes donors as well as people identified as being in same-sex marriages, and invitations to participate were e-mailed. About 4 percent responded.

Translation: You have a rigged survey here.

Obviously, the response rate measures the concern.

Those surveyed were not a randomly selected population - something that would have been far more costly and difficult to accomplish - so the findings are not representative of the more than 12,000 gay married couples in Massachusetts.

Translation: This is nothing but agenda-pushing garbage!

But Coontz and a Wellesley College researcher, Michelle Porche, praised it as a robust, well-executed study.

Unreal! Gay liars!

Of course, if you REALLY do a PAINSTAKING INVESTIGATION, it get's pooh-poohed: Occupation Iraq: Censored For Truth

Virtually all of the married men and women who responded - 93 percent - said "love and commitment" were the prime factors in their decision to wed.

Awwwww! They so much better than heteros!

Marriage appears to have forged stronger ties between spouses and their families and even colleagues on the job. When asked whether marriage had created a stronger bond with their partners, nearly three-quarters said it had. And families, the gay couples said, reacted with overwhelming acceptance of their marriage: 82 percent said their parents responded positively, while 91 percent indicated siblings were receptive.

Pffft! I can't take this self-serving swill anymore.

I gotta start crossing of items before I begin posting from now on.

Eight of 10 study participants said that being married made them more likely to disclose their sexual orientation to their coworkers and doctors.

No thanks! I don't want to hear it or know it. Don't ask, don't tell!!!!

"That suggests there's something powerful about that ritual, about that institution," Badgett said. "People feel more accepted by society."

Who needs some state-sanctioned ceremony and approval anyway?! Not me.

Scott Gortikov, executive director of MassEquality, said the study's findings suggest that the benefits of same-sex marriage extend beyond the couple:

"What the results are saying is that equal marriage makes for a healthier and happier family life and, necessarily, a healthier and happier and more solid society."

Yup, the GAYS are gonna SAVE US ALL!!!

Seriously, you guys ever get tired of shoveling so much shit?

But wait! Someone POOPED on their PARTY!!!

"Economic meltdown takes the funding out of festivals" by Patrick Walters, Associated Press | May 24, 2009

PHILADELPHIA - The leaders of the "Sunday Out" festival watched thousands brighten a gray day in early May by celebrating in the wet Philadelphia streets with multicolored umbrellas, rainbow-hued hats, and colorful necklaces in the name of gay pride.

But the mood darkened for the event's sponsor, Equality Forum, when a new bill arrived later: $17,000 for police, street cleaning, and ambulance services that for years the city had provided for free. Cash-strapped Philadelphia says it can no longer waive the costs of city services for festival organizers, and the national forecast is similarly cloudy for other events. Small festivals and huge parades alike are scaling back, stepping up fund-raising or even considering canceling as they worry about how to survive under new financial realities.

The challenge is stark in Philadelphia, where many groups paid nothing for years. The city gets requests for about 1,200 events a year, and costs for city services can range from a few thousand dollars for a small event to several hundred thousand dollars for a large parade.

The city often waived those costs in the past, taking into consideration an event's economic impact and community pride. But that cost the city millions, and with revenues down, those days are done.

WTF? How can the economic impact be good if it's costing you millions?

"The party's over for now, but in a good way," said Jazelle Jones, the city's deputy managing director, whose office is still trying to tally how much money will be saved.

Yup, trillions for war looters and banks, but God help you if you need $$$ for a parade or party (unless you are a well-onnected eliter).

In addition to money, community groups worry about morale. Without festivals, a group's visibility declines; fund-raising, membership, and community pride can go down with it.

Why are they linking GAY PRIDE to COMMUNITY PRIDE? WTF?
