Obama Says Economy Returning to Normal

Am I the only one who has had it with this telegenic liar?

"Obama meets with Volcker panel, warns of higher joblessness" by Doug Palmer and Caren Bohan, Reuters | May 21, 2009

WASHINGTON - Americans could face higher unemployment for some time to come, President Obama warned yesterday, underscoring the tough challenges the country faces even as the economy shows signs of stabilizing.

Yup, welcome to your New-and-Improved U.S. Economy, 'murkn!

Here's that bowl of s*** you requested!

Obama, speaking to a meeting of his 16-member Economic Recovery Advisory Board headed by former Federal Reserve chief Paul Volcker, said he was encouraged by "signs of normalcy" in the financial markets and hints the economy was steadying - though he remained concerned in the long run.

Actually, if you read some of the blogs, you find they are planning on the destruction of the economy later this year. The current period is being referred to as a con game. So 'bamer is hedging once again.

"One of the things that we're wrestling is how do we deal with job creation and employment," Obama said.

QUIT SENDING THEM OVERSEAS or IMPORTING IMMIGRANTS!!!

"The concern that we have is that even in a stabilizing situation there is the prospect of higher unemployment for some time to come," he said, noting the decline of US manufacturing....

But everything is getting better.

Yet, there have been some signs the worst of the recession could be over, and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told a Senate panel yesterday the US financial system was "starting to heal."

But continued high unemployment levels could be risky for Obama as he seeks to maintain political momentum to enact major initiatives on climate change and US healthcare before next year's mid-term elections.

Hey, there are priorities and then there are (agenda-pushing) priorities.

Obama sought to highlight the job prospects created by one of his chief policy initiatives: reducing greenhouse gas emissions blamed for global warming and moving the US economy off its heavy reliance on oil.

I covered that above and below, power of green!

"Clean energy is obviously a huge opportunity for job creation," Obama told the panel.

PFFFFFFFFFTTTTTT!!!!

"There are Americans desperate to find a job or unable to make ends meet, despite work in multiple jobs, Americans who pay their bills on time but can't keep their heads above water," Obama said.

Multiple jobs? WHERE?

This guy is JUST LIKE BUSH!! Those could have been HIS WORDS!!!

"BJ's Wholesale 1Q profit rises 42 percent

BJ's Wholesale Club Inc., the Natick-based operator of warehouse club stores, said that its first-quarter profit rose 42 percent, narrowly beating Wall Street expectations, and raised its 2009 profit guidance. BJ's, which is nation's third-biggest warehouse club, has largely seen it business hold strong during the recession as more shoppers turn to its stores for deals on food and basic daily items.

How odd that the story appeared in my paper and not on the web version of such, as well as the censorship, 'eh, readers?

BJ's heavier emphasis on food than some competitors has been a boost during the economic downturn as consumers keep their spending focused on necessities.

But everything is getting better, blah, blah, blah, blah, sigh!

Update
: Report: Mass. recession won't end until early 2010

Well, at least Americans are getting a BJ -- not the kind you want, but.....
