After a sermon Tuesday night at Hampton University in Virginia, Wright told a reporter for the Daily Press of Newport News that he hasn't spoken to Obama since before the inauguration.
"Them Jews ain't going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office," said Wright, the former pastor of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ. "They will not let him talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is. . . . I said from the beginning: He's a politician; I'm a pastor. He's got to do what politicians do."

In the interview yesterday on Mark Thompson's talk show on Sirius XM radio, Wright said he meant to say "Zionists," rather than Jews and said he was taken out of context during a rushed interview as he was walking to his car.

Obama was a longtime member of Trinity church, but resigned and cut ties with Wright after videos surfaced during the campaign showing Wright's sometimes provocative sermons that included shouting "God damn America" and accusing the government of creating AIDS.
