"US tracks N. Korea ship without force" by Associated Press | June 27, 2009
SEOUL - The United States will not use force to inspect a North Korean ship suspected of carrying banned goods, an American official was quoted as saying yesterday.
Because IF THEY DO they will have VIOLATED THEIR OWN U.N. RESOLUTION!
An American destroyer has been shadowing the North Korean freighter sailing off China’s coast, possibly on its way to Burma. Defense Undersecretary Michele Flournoy met with South Korean officials in Seoul yesterday as the United States sought international support for aggressively enforcing a United Nations sanctions resolution aimed at punishing Pyongyang for its second nuclear test last month....
Flournoy said yesterday that Washington has ruled out the use of military force to inspect the North Korean freighter.
Look at how they make it sound like the U.S. decided not to do this because we are so good. Hey, what's MORE HALF-TRUTH DISTORTIONS, right?
“The UN resolution lays out a regime that has a very clear set of steps,’’ Flournoy said, according to the Yonhap news agency. “I want to be very clear . . . This is not a resolution that sponsors, that authorizes, use of force for interdiction.’’
And FOR THAT, I am GRATEFUL!!
Flournoy said the United States still has “incentives and disincentives that will get North Korea to change course. Everything remains on the table, but we’re focused on implementing the resolution fully, responsibly and with our international partners,’’ she said.
Which means FORCE is STILL on the TABLE -- and yet the MSM tries to portray the Koreans as paranoid!!
Pffffttt!

Then it is back to the same old, same old on Sunday:
"N. Korea threatens Japanese airplanes
SEOUL - North Korea threatened yesterday to shoot down Japanese planes that enter its airspace, accusing Tokyo of spying near a missile-launch site. The North has also designated a no-sail zone off its eastern coast from last Thursday to July 10 for military drills, raising concern it might soon test short- or midrange missiles, in violation of a UN resolution (AP)."
Talk to Israel about violating U.N. resolutions, will ya?
