"Iran's supreme leader demands end to protests; Warns on 'bloodshed' | Declares election valid" by Nazila Fathi, New York Times | June 20, 2009

Oh, what a wonderful photograph!

TEHRAN - Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, yesterday sternly cut off any compromise over the disputed presidential election. In a lengthy hard-line sermon, he declared the election valid and warned of violence if demonstrators continue, as they have pledged, to flood the streets in defiance of the government.

Opposition leaders who failed to halt the protests, he said, “would be responsible for bloodshed and chaos.’’ The tough words seemed to dash hopes for a peaceful solution to what defeated candidates and protesters call a fraudulent election last week, plunging Iran into its gravest crisis since the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

“Flexing muscles on the streets after the election is not right,’’ he said, before tens of thousands of angry supporters at Tehran University. “It means challenging the elections and democracy. If they don’t stop, the consequences of the chaos would be their responsibility.’’

I'm just soooooo sick of the one-sided Zionist bias and distortions in service of war promotion.

Let's see if the Times notes the the ayatollah weeping after the sermon.

The sermon put Khamenei, who prefers to govern quietly and from behind the scenes, at the forefront of a confrontation not only among factions of the government but also among Iranians themselves.....

During the tough sermon, Khamenei tried to tamp down factional disputes among the elite, at one point even chastising pro-government militias and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for their roles in the crisis.

But he's a monster.

He added that foreign agents were behind the street unrests and that there were efforts to stage a “velvet revolution. They thought Iran is Georgia,’’ he said, adding, “Their problem is that they don’t know this great nation yet.’’

Yup, and WE ALL KNOW IT!!!!

Tens of thousands of Ahmadinejad’s supporters gathered for the sermon in a clear show of force to counter the mass rallies by protesters.

Not going to downsize it and lie this time, Times?

Iran’s complex politics and maneuvering were on display in the sermon when he defended an influential politician and former president, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani - a bitter rival of Khamenei’s who many Iranians say is a major force in challenging the reported election results.

That's one of OUR GUYS -- all tied up with the IRAN-CONTRA ARMS-RUNNER Ghorbanifar who remains unmentioned!!!

Khamenei criticized Ahmadinejad for accusing Rafsanjani, his children and a former speaker of Parliament, Ali Akbar Nateq Nouri, of corruption during a televised debate, saying that both had sacrificed for the revolution.

“No one had accused them of corruption,’’ he said. But he did not remove the cloud of suspicion from Rafsanjani’s children, noting that there had been accusations, unproven, against them.

Look at the guy trying to extend a hand to our pricks -- only to have them spit in it

--more--"

Nope, nothing about the weeping.

Why would the Zionist MSM want to hide that?

"Amid crackdown, violence grips Tehran; Security forces, demonstrators clash in streets" by New York Times | June 21, 2009

TEHRAN - Police officers used sticks and tear gas to force back thousands of demonstrators under plumes of black smoke in the capital yesterday....

State-run media reported that three people were wounded when a suicide bomber attacked the Tehran shrine of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in the southern part of the city, several miles from the scheduled protests. The report of the blast could not be independently confirmed. The violence unfolded on a day of extraordinary tension across Iran.

Related: Iran's PRESSTV Versus America's CNN

The opposition leader, Mir Hossein Mousavi, appeared at a demonstration in southern Tehran and called for a general strike if he were to be arrested. “I am ready for martyrdom,’’ he said.

You just might get what you want, guy.

Mousavi again called for nullifying the election’s results, and opposition protesters swore to continue pressing their claims of a stolen election against Iran’s embattled and increasingly impatient clerical leadership in Iran’s worst crisis since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Where have you guys been when it comes to the U.S. ELECTIONS, 'eh?

In Washington, President Obama called the government’s reaction “violent and unjust,’’ and, quoting Martin Luther King Jr., warned again that the world was watching what happened in Tehran.

Ooooohhh! Oooohhhh!! HE HAS SOME NERVE!!!!!

How many MISSILES did you LET LOOSE in PAKISTAN TODAY, you mass-murdering WAR CRIMINAL!!!????

Iran’s divisions played out on the streets. Regular security forces stood back and urged protesters to go home and avoid bloodshed, while the feared pro-government militia, the Basij, beat protesters with clubs and, witnesses said, electric prods.

We's tortures peoples in the US!

In some places, the protesters pushed back, rushing the militia in teams of hundreds: At least three Basijis were pitched from their motorcycles, which were then set on fire. The protesters included many women, some of whom berated as cowards men who fled the Basijis.

Aaaaah, OUR AGENTS are being VIOLENT, 'eh?

And I notice we have NO COMPUNCTION about USING WOMEN as WAR PROPAGANDA, huh?

Just FORGET the ones we are DROPPING BOMBS on!!!!

The street violence appeared to grow more intense as night fell, and there were unconfirmed reports of multiple deaths. A BBC journalist at Enghelab Square reported seeing one person shot by security forces. An amateur video posted on YouTube showed a woman bleeding to death after being shot by a Basiji, the text posted with the video said.

Yeah, CNN RAN WITH THAT like you WOULDN'T BELIEVE!! The grim-faced announcer telling us how disturbing the images were.

I LEPT out of my chair and yelled at the screen; WHAT ABOUT JANUARY when Iz-ray-HELL was raining bombs down on PALESTINE, you stinkin' whore (it was a guy, too)!!!!

WHERE WERE YOU THEN, garbage Amerikan MSM!???

“If they open fire on people and if there is bloodshed, people will get angrier,’’ said a protester, Ali, 40. “They are out of their minds if they think with bloodshed they can crush the movement.’’

Obama’s statement was his strongest to date on the post-election turmoil in Iran. Saying that “each and every innocent life’’ lost would be mourned, he added: “Suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. The Iranian people will ultimately judge the actions of their own government. If the Iranian government seeks the respect of the international community, it must respect the dignity of its own people and govern through consent, not coercion.

He's a fine one to talk! END the WARS and give us single-payer, s***ter!

Martin Luther King once said: ‘The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.’ I believe that. The international community believes that. And right now, we are bearing witness to the Iranian peoples’ belief in that truth, and we will continue to bear witness.’’

Yup, and....

"The day is coming when you are going to get screwed by the horse you rode in on and I will watch that happen. In the meantime, spare us your pointless arguments about why you have to act like you have the right to do whatever you please and then blame it all on the people you did it to. Your days are numbered and it will be my true pleasure to watch you flush yourself down the cosmic toilet into the fires of Hell. Iran is not the problem, you are and we know it and you know and all the bullshit spin in the world doesn’t change the way it is."

I SECOND THAT, Les!!!!!!

And why this cut?

Obama was meeting with senior aides throughout the day to discuss the unfolding situation....

Don't want us to know what a SLAVE he is for ISRAEL?

Journalists were banned from leaving their offices to report on the protests. A reporter from an American news organization said she had been called by a member of the Basij militia warning her not to go to the venue for the rally because the situation would be dangerous and there could be fatalities.

Listen to them complaining after OUR SECURITY FORCES WAILED AWAY at the presidential conventions!

Mousavi, making his case for electoral fraud, charged that thousands of his representatives had been expelled from polling stations and some mobile polling stations had ballot boxes filled with fake ballots....

So WHERE is the PROOF?

"Iran raises death toll in clashes to at least 19" by Nasser Karimi and William J. Kole, Associated Press Writers | June 21, 2009

TEHRAN, Iran --State media reported Sunday at least 10 more deaths in post-election unrest and said authorities have arrested the daughter and four other relatives of former President Hashemi Rafsanjani, one of Iran's most powerful men.

The reports brought the official death toll for a week of unrest to at least 19. State television inside Iran said 10 were killed and 100 injured in clashes Saturday between demonstrators contesting the result of the June 12 election and black-clad police wielding truncheons, tear gas and water cannons.

However English-language Press TV, which is broadcast only outside the country, put the toll at 13 and labeled those who died "terrorists." There was no immediate explanation for the discrepancy....

WHERE the HELL were you guys in JANUARY when ISRAEL was MURDERING THOUSANDS?

We know what is going on, and the AmeriKan MSM is now -- if they weren't already -- a COMPLETELY DISCREDITED OUTFIT!

On Sunday, the streets of Tehran were eerily quiet....

And yet, THERE WAS CNN showing PREVIOUS DAY'S FOOTAGE with MOBS in the street!

Yup, I'll BELIEVE it when I SEE... NEVER MIND!!!

Rafsanjani now heads two very powerful groups. The most important one is the Assembly of Experts, made up of senior clerics who can elect and dismiss the supreme leader. The second is the Expediency Council, a body that arbitrates disputes between parliament and the unelected Guardian Council, which can block legislation.

Also Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki held a news conference where he rebuked Britain, France and Germany for raising questions about reports of voting irregularities in hardline Ahmadinejad's re-election....

Thousands of supporters of Mousavi, who claims he won the election, squared off Saturday against security forces in a dramatic show of defiance of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Underscoring how the protesters have become emboldened despite the regime's repeated and ominous warnings, witnesses said some shouted "Death to Khamenei!" at Saturday's demonstrations....

Oh, THAT'S GREAT!!! So OUR GUYS are JUST as BAD as "them," huh?

And OBAMA is PRAISING THEM!!!!!!!

Sunday's state media reports also said rioters set two gas stations on fire and attacked a military post in clashes Saturday. They quoted the deputy police chief claiming officers did not use live ammunition to dispel the crowds.

Obama MAKES ME SICK now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Saturday, state media also reported a suicide bombing at the shrine of the Islamic Revolution leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini killed at least two people and wounded eight. Another state channel broadcast images of broken glass, but no other damage or casualties, and showed a witness saying three people had been wounded. But there was no independent verification of the shrine attack or the deaths.

Well, CUI BONO, huh? WHO would want to do THAT?

Ever notice that MOSQUES STAND for CENTURIES -- until WE GET THERE? And look at the joo media COVER-UP their TERROR TEAM in the region!!!

Yup, but SUICIDERS in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, NEED NEVER be VERIFIED!!!!

State TV quoted an unidentified witness as saying a man wearing an explosives belt blew himself up at the mausoleum's main gate....

Oh, I'm sorry; it was Khomeini's GRAVE!! That makes it ALL the SMELLIER!!!!!!!!!

Mottaki saved his most pointed criticism for Britain, raising a litany of historical grievances and accusing the country of flying intelligence agents into Iran before the election to interfere with the vote....

Yes, EMPIRES NEVER FORGET IT when people kick them out and ALWAYS LEAVE an INTEL SERVICE BEHIND!!!!

Late Saturday, Ahmadinejad thanked Khamenei for his support, telling the supreme leader: "Without a doubt, you strongly raised the flag of dignity and awareness of the Iranian nation against the arrogant."

The government has blocked Web sites such as BBC Farsi, Facebook, Twitter and several pro-Mousavi sites used by Iranians to tell the world about protests and violence. Text messaging has not been working in Iran since last week, and cell phone service in Tehran is frequently down.

Yeah, we KNOW WHO and WHAT is BEHIND THAT!

"Israeli president applauds Iran street protesters" by Joseph Marks, Associated Press Writer | June 21, 2009

The CONTENT and OMISSION by the Boston Globe tells you ALL you need to know!

JERUSALEM --
Israeli President Shimon Peres applauded Iran's pro-reform protesters Sunday.... Peres suggested the protesters could bring down their leaders.

Oh, he's hoping!!!!

Protesters took to the streets after a disputed June 12 presidential election that saw a victory for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the incumbent. Ahmadinejad has repeatedly called for Israel's destruction.

There they go AGAIN:

Slow Saturday Special: AmeriKan MSM Admits Ahmadinejad Misquoted

It can't be an oversight anymore; has to be intentional.

Peres told a gathering of world Jewish leaders, if the protests continue "hopefully the poor government will disappear."

Oh, so when AHMADINEJAD SAYS IT it is DESTRUCTION, but SOME DAMN NaZionist shitbag does and it's IGNORED!!

See: Slow Saturday Special: AmeriKan MSM Admits Ahmadinejad Misquoted

They just made my case!!!!!!!

The Israeli government.... has not ruled out a military strike....

Yup, THEY can be BELLIGERENT and THREATEN ANYBODY THEY LIKE -- and THEY HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS!!!

They STOLE THEM from US, America!!!! Seems like a PATTERN!

Israeli leaders may be reluctant to openly support the protesters because being identified with Israel could do them more harm than good, said political scientist Shlomo Aronson of Hebrew University in Jerusalem....

So they went and INFILTRATED TWITTER!

"Protesters Return to Tehran Streets; Guardian Council Says No Proof of Fraud" by Thomas Erdbrink, Washington Post Foreign Service | June 22, 2009

TEHRAN, June 22 -- Demonstrators returned to a public square in Iran's capital Monday to protest alleged fraud in the recent presidential election and were met with beatings and tear gas from security forces, eyewitnesses said. Meanwhile, the group charged with certifying the election said discrepancies between the number of votes and eligible voters in some districts did not constitute proof of ballot-tampering.

You know, SAME THING U.S. OFFICIALS SAY after our rigged elections!

A spokesman for the influential Guardian Council said Sunday night that a review found excessive voting in 50 districts -- meaning more ballots were cast in those districts than there are voters registered. But the spokesman, Abbas Ali Kadkhodai, said Monday that the discrepancy did not necessarily signify a problem, because people are not required to vote in the district where they are registered.

"Some districts are intertwined geographically and population-wise, so people vote in different districts," Kadkhodai told the semi-official IRNA news agency. "Our preliminary follow-up shows that there hasn't been any major fraud. In fact, maybe it's better to say there has been no fraud at all."

Which THOSE OF US who have FOLLOWED THIS on the BLOGS KNOW!!!!

The account provided by the news service said Kadkhodai "denied the reports published by some foreign media" that the council had found evidence of fraud. The spokesman said migrant workers may vote in cities even though they are registered in rural areas, and said the same is true for nomadic residents. He also noted that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's reported margin of victory over challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi was 11 million votes, far greater than the 3 million votes recorded in the disputed districts....

But that doesn't stop the agenda-pushing AmeriKan MSM from hollering fraud!

After a tense calm prevailed Sunday, several hundred protesters gathered for a vigil Monday at a central Tehran square. Witnesses said security forces and pro-government militias fired tear gas and beat participants in an effort to drive them away.

The semiofficial Fars News Agency, which has strong ties to Ahmadinejad, quoted a law professor at Tehran University Sunday as saying that Mousavi's efforts to encourage the protesters were criminal.

"Through uncivil and illegal means, he created an environment for unrest and hooliganism," Firouz Aslani told Fars News. "Contrary to his claims of lawfulness, he acted against the security of the nation and the interests of the system."

Yeah, by ACTING as an AGENT and PROXY for ISRAEL!

Some analysts in Tehran said those comments and others carried in the state-run news media questioning the legality of Mousavi's actions could be the government's way of preparing the ground for his arrest.

Mousavi, 67, a former prime minister who has alleged that the June 12 election officially won by Ahmadinejad was riddled with fraud, condemned the government's use of force against protesters and urged his supporters to stay calm.

"The heart-rending news of the martyrdom of yet another group of protesters to the recent fraud in the elections put our nation in shock and sorrow," Mousavi, who has become the face of a broad and deep protest movement that has drawn hundreds of thousands of people into the streets, argued in a posting on his banned newspaper's Web site.

Any surprise that Israel likes him and the AmeriKan joospapers are so full of this s***?

"Shooting at the people, militarizing the city, scaring the people, provoking them, and displaying power are all the result of the unlawfulness we're witnessing today," he wrote, arguing that Iranians have the right to peaceful protest.

Tell it to AmeriKa's government!

Now for the AMERIKAN WAR-MONGERS and their TV APPEARANCES (thaknfully, I missed them all):

In Washington, President Obama made no public statements on the Iran unrest Sunday; on Saturday, he had made his most forceful comments to date on the issue, calling on the government in Tehran to stop its "violence and unjust" crackdown.

Yeah, I heard his s*** swill above!

On Sunday television talk shows, several Republican lawmakers criticized Obama's response to the situation.

"I appreciate what the president said yesterday, but he's been timid and passive more than I would like, and I hope he will continue to speak truth to power," Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.) said on ABC's "This Week." "Anytime America stands up for freedom, we're better off. When we try to prop up dictators or remain silent, it comes back to bite us."

"If America stands for democracy and all of these demonstrations are going on in Tehran and other cities over there, and people don't think that we really care, then obviously they're going to question: Do we really believe in our principles?" Sen. Charles E. Grassley (Iowa) said on CNN's "State of the Union."

This is DISGUSTING! This is what passes for DEBATE in this nation's media?

I mean FORGET the HYPOCRISY and DUPLICITY.

The best we can do is WAR MONGER A against WAR MONGER B?

Administration officials have said Obama has been careful in his response to avoid giving the Iranian government an excuse to portray the protesters as U.S.-backed pawns.

Even though that is EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE!!!!!

Notice that he doesn't want to give the impression; doesn't mean it is NOT TRUE!

Yeah, AmeriKa's newspapers suck!

Although Tehran was quieter Sunday, eyewitnesses reported gunshots and sirens in the central neighborhood of Abbas Abad. A large column of black smoke could be seen rising from the area. Eyewitnesses also reported unrest in central Haft-e Tir Square.

Few senior aides to Mousavi could be reached for comment. Several have been arrested, are not answering their phones or are turning their backs on Mousavi after Friday's warning by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, that protesters faced bloodshed if they continued their mass demonstrations.

"Nothing is certain now," said Hassan Baghernejad, a senior Mousavi campaign official. "Some people have accepted the definitive response by the supreme leader; others haven't. We must wait and see."

A-HA!!!

I think we JUST GOT an ANSWER and WHY the GLOBE is DITCHING the EFFORT!!!

As Mousavi's supporters consider their options, the government media offensive is accelerating....

POT, KETTLE, shaddup, joos media!!!!!

It asked viewers to send video recordings of protesters to help authorities make arrests.

State television reported that 10 people died Saturday when clashes broke out between security forces and Mousavi supporters assembling for a rally that authorities had banned. First reports said that as many as 13 people had died, but the toll was later reduced to 10. Foreign journalists have been banned from covering the protests.

Iranian police officials said 457 people were arrested -- some with the help of local residents -- during the protests Saturday, according to Mehr News, a semiofficial Iranian news agency. The agency also reported that 40 policemen were injured, 34 state buildings were damaged, and three buses and four private cars were set on fire during the violence.

Tell ya, I can't believe the AMOUNT of PRINT being devoyted to this story. WOW!!

Saturday's death toll, which brought the number of fatalities in a week of protests to at least 17, added a potentially catalyzing element to the unrest. During the revolution that overthrew the shah of Iran in 1979, ushering in an Islamic republic, a cycle of protests, violent repression and more demonstrations to mourn the victims helped sustain and fortify the opposition.

Well, the REGIME-CHANGERS sure are WISHING it to be so, no?

Mousavi referred to those protests in his statement Sunday. "Should the revolutionary people, who with similar gatherings and protests freed us from the forgotten history of oppression of the shah, be beaten and frightened and be challenged to a power struggle?" Mousavi asked....

That's where the Globe cut it. Further additions:

Another statement on one of Mousavi's campaign Web sites denied news reports that he had said he was ready for "martyrdom" in the name of the protesters' cause.

So either the jewmedia lied or he is having second thoughts!

Scenes from Saturday's violent protests were shown frequently on Iranian state television, and in a special broadcast the rioters were said to be members of the Paris-based Mujaheddin-e Khalq, an Islamist Marxist group that the United States has labeled a terrorist organization.

The M.E.K.? So the U.S. is USING TERRORISTS, huh?

(Of course, the WHOLE WORLD KNOWS about the FALSE FLAGS so the fact is WE ARE the "terrorists!")

The group, which sided with Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s and conducted a series of terrorist attacks, has little support among most Iranians.

But WE are PROTECTING THEM in IRAQ!!!!

Audio clips were played of alleged recordings of telephone calls in which people said to be members of the organization urged others to pass on information about the protests to Western news organizations. But the group's involvement seems highly unlikely because its supporters are rare in Iran.

Yeah, because the CIA's PAPERS SAYS IT it MUST BE TRUE!!!! Pffffftt!

They already got busted supporting Jundallah!

Also Sunday, state-run news media reported the arrest of the eldest daughter and four other relatives of former president Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, a Shiite Muslim cleric who heads two powerful groups in Iran's theocratic governing system. Rafsanjani has emerged as a strong critic of Ahmadinejad.

Rafsanjani's whereabouts were unknown. Members of the Basij are asking for his daughter, Faezeh, who used to run a magazine promoting women's rights and who has supported Mousavi, and other family members to be put on trial on corruption charges.

Yup, AGENTS all over the PLACE!

The unrest has focused attention on the political maneuvering inside Iran's normally opaque power circle....

As if AmeriKa's is any different! I'm tired of these insults -- which is why they get my mouth!

--more--"

No, not only does the Globe remove the item, they substitute this NYT piece of crap:

"Unrest fuels feud among Iran clerics; Opposition is tied to terrorists" by Nazila Fathi and Michael Slackman, New York Times | June 22, 2009

TEHRAN - A rift among Iran’s ruling clerics deepened yesterday over the disputed presidential election that has convulsed Tehran in the worst violence in 30 years, with the government attempting to link the defiant loser to terrorists and detaining relatives of his powerful backer, a founder of the Islamic republic....

Oh, LOOK at the AGENDA-PUSHING COUPSTERS hoping!!!!

The developments, coming one day after violent protests in the capital and elsewhere were crushed by police and militia using guns, clubs, tear gas, and water cannons, suggested that Khamenei was facing entrenched resistance among some members of the elite....

This is what you call PSY-OP PROPAGANDA!!!

Make the "enemy" think it's true to split 'em -- or use it to stupify the domestic population and gear them up for more war!

Though rivalries among top clerics have been part of Iranian politics since the 1979 revolution, analysts said that open factional competition amid a major political crisis could hinder Khamenei’s ability to restore order.

The agitators and coup leaders sure are hoping, huh?

There was no verifiable accounting of the death toll from the Saturday mayhem, partly because the government has imposed severe restrictions on news coverage and warned foreign reporters who remained in the country to stay off the street. It also ordered the BBC’s longtime correspondent expelled and ordered Newsweek’s correspondent detained....

How many reporters has the U.S. KILLED or DETAINED in Iraq?

HUNDREDS!!!! How come we NEVER HEAR ABOUT THAT, msm?

It was unclear whether protests would be sustained....

Good. Then I can stop taking hours riting about this.

Amateur video accounts showed at least one large protest gathering, on Shirazi Street, though it was unclear how long it lasted. But in the network of Internet and Twitter postings that has become the opposition’s major tool for organizing and sharing information, a powerful and vivid new image emerged: a video posted on several websites that showed a young woman, called Neda, her face covered in blood. Text posted with the video said she had been shot. It was not possible to verify the authenticity of the video.

But NEVERTHELESS, CNN RAN IT IOVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again!!!!

Accounts of the crisis in the government press suggested that the government may be laying the groundwork for discrediting and arresting Mousavi. The official Islamic Republic News Agency quoted Alireza Zahedi, a member of the Basiji militia, as saying Mousavi had provoked the violence, sought help from outside the country to do it and should be put on trial.

And he thought being a tool was a great idea, huh?

The Fars news agency quoted a Tehran University law professor as saying that Mousavi had acted against “the security of the nation.’’ State television suggested that at least some of the unrest was instigated by an outlawed terrorist group, the Mujahedeen Khalq, which does not have a strong following in Iran.

That's because it is a CREATION of WESTERN INTELLIGENCE!!!!!!

Mousavi was not seen in public yesterday but showed no sign of yielding....
