"Attorney general testifies before Senate, seeks expanded hate crime law" by Associated Press | June 26, 2009
WASHINGTON - Attorney General Eric Holder urged Congress yesterday to pass a new hate crimes law so the government could prosecute cases of violence based on sexual orientation, gender, or disability.
And who could be against that, huh? Th Zionist MSM always frames the agenda-pushing issue that way, as if shutting down free speech is harmless.
At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday, he cited the recent killing of a security guard at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. The alleged assailant is a white supremacist.
And CUI BONO, 'eh?

“One has to look at the unfortunate history of our nation. There are groups that have been singled out, that have been targets of violence,’’ the attorney general said. “We have to face and confront that reality.’’
Lawmakers debated the possible effect of the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act, named after a gay man killed in Wyoming in 1998. It would allow federal prosecution of violence committed because of the actual or perceived gender, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity of the victim.
Isn't EVERY CRIME a HATE CRIME? Are you telling me -- no matter what the circumstances -- they did it out of love?
Why not just JUDGE PEOPLE on WHAT THEY DO, not WHAT they THINK (or what the government accuses them of thinking)?
For more than a decade, Democrats have sought to update the hate crimes law, which already makes it a federal crime to attack someone because of their race, creed, or color.
Republicans questioned whether the change would expand federal power unnecessarily into cases already being prosecuted by state and local officials. They also asked why certain victims should be singled out for particular types of protection.
That's the whole point, sig heil!
“That’s part of the problem. Some are protected groups and get special protection under this law,’’ said Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, the committee’s top Republican.
And GET THIS!
According to FBI data, the number of hate crimes per year is relatively unchanged in the past 10 years....
Sigh. More crisis talk when.... ???
About half of all hate crimes are motivated by racial bias. The other two most frequent hate crimes are those motivated by religion or sexual orientation. Holder said the statistics show hate crimes against Hispanics have increased four years in a row.
Then they have gone DOWN against OTHERS, huh? Well, NOT EVERY AGENDA-PUSHING GROUP can claim increased victimization! Also keep this in mind because it is where the agenda-pushing alliance is headed.
Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California, said some of the debate in her state over immigration “has been part of hate, and people have been beaten up because they happen to be Hispanic, they happen to be on a street corner where somebody doesn’t want them.’’
I love the ANECDOTAL NATURE of the comment.
Of course, she's a senator so she'd never lie to push an agenda or anything.

"Hate crime charges filed in Provincetown assault" by James Vaznis, Globe Staff | May 25, 2009
A Winthrop man will be arraigned on a hate crime charge tomorrow stemming from accusations that he assaulted a woman while yelling disparaging remarks against gays outside a Provincetown cafe over the weekend.
Hey, I'm not against ya, not anymore. I've raised the white flag.
Police say Eric L. Patten, 20, was intoxicated when he mistook two women as gay men while they stood outside the Post Office Cafe & Cabaret at 303 Commercial St. shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday.
Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!! That's an EASY THING to DO!
Patten yelled derogatory names for gays at them and then approached them, police said. He grabbed one of the women and slammed her into the window, shattering the glass and injuring the woman, police said.
Now why the hate charge piled on top? Isn't the VIOLENCE enough?
Police said the assault attracted the attention of a large crowd. Patten was arrested and quickly transported to the station so he would not incite the crowd, police said....
Michele Couture, chairwoman of the Provincetown Board of Selectmen, said she considered the assault an isolated case. "Hate crimes are definitely not tolerated in Provincetown," Couture said in a telephone interview yesterday, noting the town participates in the "No Place for Hate" program that is run by the Anti-Defamation League.
Unless it is directed at Palestinians and Muslims.
Oh, of course! And I'm not the only one who has noticed this particular group and the treatment they receive in the agenda-pushing press:
"This list shows the extreme concentration of a particular political power base in respect of the gay movement and who is behind it."
Yup, somehow, someway, the issue always makes the agenda-pushing paper.

"Committee targets anti-Latino hate crimes
A national Jewish organization and a Boston-based Latino group are planning a joint effort to fight hate crimes that target Latinos. On Tuesday, the Anti-Defamation League of New England and the Latino Professional Network will announce the creation of the Latino/Jewish Roundtable.

When you going to help out the Muslims?
The committee will focus on solutions to combat “anti-immigrant rhetoric’’ aimed at US-born Latinos and Latino immigrants. The groups cited recent derogatory statements about Mexicans by Boston radio host Jay Severin and some of the reaction to the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor, who is Hispanic, as evidence of a need for the partnership.
I was wrong about him because he is back on the air (you can insult and hate Muslims apparently), and as for Sotomayor, see this.
The new partnership grew out of ADL’s recent “A Nation of Immigrants’’ Community Seder, and was organized with assistance from Boston law firm Prince, Lobel, Glovsky and & Tye (AP)."
That explains soooo much, from the loving treatment of illegals in the agenda-pushing MSM to the coverage of said protests by same.
Yet SOMEHOW THESE are NOT HATE CRIMES!
What gives, SELECTIVE, AGENDA-PUSHING MSM and GOVERNMENT?!!!
JENA, La. - Five members of the Jena Six pleaded no contest yesterday to misdemeanor simple battery and won’t serve jail time, ending a case that thrust a small Louisiana town into the national spotlight and sparked a massive civil rights demonstration....

It was a far less severe end to their cases than seemed possible when the six students were initially charged with attempted murder in the 2006 attack on Justin Barker, a white classmate. They became known as the “Jena Six,’’ after the central Louisiana town where the beating happened.
As part of the deal, one of the attorneys read a statement from the five defendants - all of whom are black - in which they said they knew of nothing Barker had done to provoke the attack.
And we were told nooses, nooses, nooses!
Now, WHY NO HATE CRIME HERE?
“To be clear, not one of us heard Justin use any slur or say anything that justified Mychal Bell attacking Justin nor did any of us see Justin do anything that would cause Mychal to react,’’ the statement said.
The statement also expressed sympathy for Barker and his family, and acknowledged the past 2 1/2 years had “caused Justin and his parents tremendous pain and suffering, much of which has gone unrecognized.’’
None of the defendants spoke to reporters. The severity of the original charges brought widespread criticism.
WTF?

"School board member faces threat case
A School Committee member has pleaded not guilty to charges that she threatened Superintendent Chris Scott. Regina Faticanti was arraigned Thursday in Lowell District Court after Scott told police that Faticanti threatened to rip her “arms off, then [her] head.’’ According to court documents, Faticanti phoned Scott in April to express anger over the superintendent’s plan to possibly privatize the district’s food service program. Scott told police that Faticanti used expletives and repeatedly threatened her. Faticanti’s lawyer, Philip Nyman, said he questioned why Scott waited a week to report the phone call, and he asserted that Faticanti’s remarks were made during a “heated political exchange.’’ (AP)."
