"Megaproject gets a big boost; State offers $65m for Assembly on the Mystic access road" by Casey Ross, Globe Staff | July 21, 2009

The state committed $65 million for an access road into the megadevelopment.

Meanwhile, our roads out here drive like s***!

The developer and city officials said they will use the stimulus money to hire scores of construction workers by the fall. The swift ramp-up is a prime reason why Governor Deval Patrick selected the project as one of several large private developments that will receive public funds.

Here we are LOSING THOUSANDS EVERY MONTH and THEY are TALKING HUNDREDS -- in the NEAR FUTURE!

“This project will put people to work now and in the future, and deliver a host of economic, housing, and community benefits to Somerville and the region,’’ Patrick said. “This is what recovery spending is all about.’’

NO!!!

It will PUT THEM TO WORK making a road and then THAT'S IT, JOB OVER!!!

Ultimately, Assembly on the Mystic would include about 3 million square feet of space for stores and offices, 2,100 housing units, a new MBTA train station, and parks and bike trails along the Mystic River, the developer says. The anchor tenant in the shopping portion will be the Swedish furniture giant Ikea, which plans to break ground next spring and open a store in September 2011.

We need JOBS NOW, a**holes!!!!

Some work is already underway, but construction is expected to accelerate next month with the hiring of 175 to 200 workers who will upgrade the surrounding streets and build the access road. By the end of next year, with the Ikea building underway, the developer, Federal Realty Investment Trust, estimates there will be 1,000 construction workers onsite.

I'm TIRED of LIES, PROMISES, and GOVERNMENT BULLSHIT, 'kay, Globe?

The timeline for the entire development is 10 to 15 years....

Then WHY is it LEADING the BUSINESS SECTION as if it's a SAVIOR as the ECONOMY is SWINGIN' UP, 'eh, Amurkn shit-eater?

Globe, you're shameless agenda-pushing s*** really does stink to high heaven!

Over the next decade, Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone estimated, the project will create 18,000 construction jobs and 20,000 permanent positions.

And I say it will create 50,000 construction jobs and 100,000 permanent positions! TOP THAT, will ya?!!!

PFFFFFT!

The Patrick administration is expected to dedicate hundreds of millions of dollars in similar funding for three other large developments: SouthField in Weymouth, Westwood Station off Interstate 95, and Waterfront Square at Revere Beach.

That's TAXPAYER DOLLARS for HOLLYWOOD and the like while TEACHERS, COPS, and FIREFIGHTERS are LAID OFF, folks!!!

Each would include a mix of housing, stores, and offices and would require substantial public improvements, such new roads or sewer lines.

Yeah, FUCK YOURS, taxpayers!!!

See: Hollywood S***s on Massachusetts

The administration has also provided money for a $70 million highway ramp off Route 24 in Fall River to spur construction of a biotechnology park.

Un-fucking-real!

Sorry for the mouth, folks, but....!!!!!!!!!!!!

“We’re trying to target money where we think we have the best chance of accelerating private investment,’’ said Gregory Bialecki, Massachusetts’s secretary of housing and economic development.

I WANT MY TAX MONEY BACK THEN!

I'll TARGET MY OWN INVESTMENTS, thank you!!!!

Bialecki said he is also developing a list of smaller projects where $5 million to $10 million of public spending should help kick-start private investment.

How about giving one to the ZOO?

Yeah, THAT is what I THOUGHT!!!!

At Assembly on the Mystic, much of the public funding, about $50 million, will come from a program in which the state, developers, and municipalities share the costs of road improvements and other upgrades, with most of the repayment coming from tax revenue generated by the development....

Even though TAXPAYERS are LOSING MONEY on the "development!"

--more--"

Any wonder why I'm raging about a s***bag paper?
