"Obama as fund-raiser, booster; Gives governors a lift, then makcs pitch for Olympics" by Globe Staff And Associated Press | October 2, 2009

WASHINGTON - The Democratic Governors Association fund-raising luncheon.... cost $5,000 per plate to attend and which was not open to lobbyists or political action committees, raised $500,000.

Well, I guess he needs his strength to swim the ocean.

Only two governors are up for reelection this year, but 37 states will elect chief executives in 2010. Of those, 22 are held by Republicans.

I suspect a lot of Republicans will be holding on, if not winning.

See: The Return of the Republican Congress

Slow Saturday Special: Patrick's Invisible Approval

There is one governorship that is going to flip -- in a fair election, that is.

President Obama.... will be away for less than a day. He is scheduled to set down in Denmark at about 2 a.m..... plans to leave at 7 a.m.....

Wow, he sure is a fast swimmer, and not much of a break, either.

What do you mean he is FLYING OVER in a PLANE?

With the CLIMATE CHANGE CRISIS he is going to WASTE FUEL and WARM the ATMOSPHERE like that?

For once I agree with the Boston Globe, but for different reasons:

"He should have stayed home...

Actually, that would be twice, but....

And he should have stayed because it was a WASTED TRIP that YOU PAID FOR, taxpayers (as if you had $$$ bleeding out your arse).

And HERE is why we LOST:
Obama Olympics pledge after America's treatment of foreigners is questioned

Yeah, the TYRANNY COSTS in ways you NEVER IMAGINED, Amurkn!!!!

Btw, I am ELATED that RIO won!!!
I am VERY HAPPY for them!

"Chicago out as Obama’s Olympic pitch fails; Despite effort for hometown, Brazil gets nod" by Hans Nichols and John McCormick, Bloomberg News | October 3, 2009

President Obama’s personal appeal to deliver the 2016 Summer Olympic Games to his adopted hometown of Chicago was rejected yesterday in a surprisingly swift rebuff....

“We’re a nation that has always opened its arms to the citizens of the world....’’ Obama told International Olympic Committee members....

Oh, he didn't say that, did he?

Yup, open our arms to throw you in cages indefinitely so you can be tortured to preserve a lie.

While Obama was out of the country, the Labor Department reported that the unemployment rate climbed to 9.8 percent last month, the highest level since 1983....

Well, there are important things, and then ther are IMPORTANT THINGS!

Chicago had seemed to pick up momentum in the last few days, with many IOC members seemingly charmed by Michelle Obama, who led the US delegation before her husband arrived.

That is what the NEWSPAPERS would LIKE YOU to believe!!!

They were hoping!

Yesterday, even the president conceded she stole the show from him with her highly personal speech to the IOC. She gave a passionate account of what the games would mean to her late father, who taught her as a girl how to throw punches better than the boys....

While I agree with defending yourself, this is "charming?"

How come ALL OUR LEADERS have a PROCLIVITY for VIOLENCE, America?

The International Olympic Committee eliminated Chicago in the first round of voting, despite the plea from Obama, who decided late in the competition to become the first president to lobby the IOC in person. “I think to be eliminated in the first round is very embarrassing, to put it mildly,’’ said Stephen Hess, a presidential historian at George Washington University.

Obama was watching TV alone aboard Air Force One, headed back to Washington from Copenhagen, when he found out Chicago’s fate, and later that Rio de Janeiro had become the first South American city to be awarded the Olympics.

I laughed at that. I know the feeling.

I mean the disappointment at what I see, too!

After returning to the White House yesterday afternoon, he congratulated Rio and Brazil, and expressed no regrets about the effort he made....

Yeah, because WE PAID for his TRIP!!!!

Still, the high-profile failure could feed negative narratives already nipping at his heels - that he’s a better talker than closer, more celebrity than statesman.

Well, THAT is what happens when you are George W. Bush's third term.

“This is really the first major caucus loss for the Obama team,’’ said Ken Duberstein, a chief of staff for Ronald Reagan who also served on the ethics board of the US Olympic Committee.

“There are limits to celebrity sometimes,’’ he said, calling the IOC a collection of “impervious high muckety-muckety-mucks.’’

Duberstein said he doubted there would be “any lasting repercussion’’ to the president’s domestic agenda “unless people overreact.’’

White House senior adviser David Axelrod also discounted any impact on the president’s domestic agenda, including health care reform. “All he really lost was some sleep and he was more than happy to do that,’’ Axelrod said.

Yeah, well, HOW MUCH $$$ are TAXPAYERS OUT for this GREENHOUSE GAS-BELCHING excursion?

--more--"

I really don't want to hear anymore about CLIMATE CHANGE, 'kay?!!!!
