Round Three
:

"Pakistani Army captures a key town of Taliban" by Jane Perlez, New York Times | October 25, 2009

ISLAMABAD - After a week of fighting Taliban and Al Qaeda militants in the mountains of South Waziristan, the Pakistani Army said yesterday that it had captured a town important for both its symbolic and strategic value.

Shake, shake.

The town, Kotkai, most of whose 5,000 residents had already fled, is the home of the new leader of the Pakistani Taliban, Hakimullah Mehsud, and one of the most feared Taliban commanders, Qari Hussain. Hussain is believed to be the organizer and trainer of the group’s suicide bombing squads.

Yeah, WHAT ABOUT the OVER 3 MILLION REFUGEES since LAST SUMMER?

And WHO are those "terrorists?"

The army has been struggling in the treacherous terrain in South Waziristan, long a militant sanctuary. Military officials said yesterday that Kotkai had been taken only after “intense fighting.’’ Four days ago, the militants repulsed the first army attempt to capture the town and killed nine soldiers, according to a military intelligence officer.

So why should we believe them now? CUI BONO?

They just want to keep the U.S. off their backs, don't they?

It was the first notable sign of progress in what military analysts say will be a slog for the army against a resilient enemy.

Another article down the MSM rabbit hole.

And it occurred as Pakistan has been enduring a series of terrorist attacks over the past three weeks.

Yeah, JUST as the PAKISTANIS STOOD UP to the AmeriKans!

What a COINCIDENCE, huh?

At a military briefing yesterday, the information minister, Qamar Zaman Kaira, acknowledged that the attacks, which have focused on police and government sites and have killed about 200 people, had taken a serious toll. But he insisted that “the nation will not be terrorized,’’ and he used tougher language against militants than was common among Pakistani officials just a few months ago.

The farther the army tries to penetrate into the Taliban sanctuary in the northeast corner of South Waziristan, the harder the fighting will get as soldiers encounter defensive positions dug into the sides of mountains that the guerrillas will battle hard to keep, military analysts and residents of the area said.

Yeah, because THEY LIVE THERE and are TIRED of seeing their FAMILY MEMBERS MURDERED!

Time is also against the army, as the fighting season in Afghanistan draws to a close because of the approaching winter.

Why worry with global warming?

Fighters coming from the Khost, Paktia, and Paktika provinces in Afghanistan are likely to be used in South Waziristan against the army, swelling the number of active militants in the region well beyond the present estimates of 7,000 to 10,000.

How can they possibly know how many there are? They do a census?

My LOCAL gave me this!

"Pakistani army takes Taliban chief's hometown

ISLAMABAD – The U.S. military has also kept up its own missile strikes in the lawless tribal belt, including a suspected one that killed 22 Saturday....

More BLOOD on the MASS-MURDERING OBAMA'S hands!

The U.S. has launched scores of missile strikes.... The latest strike hit Chuhatra village in the tribal region of Bajur on Saturday, local government official Mohammad Jamil said....

Most of the 22 killed were Afghan nationals, he said. Pakistan formally protests the missile strikes, saying they violate its sovereignty and raise sympathy for the Taliban, while the U.S. rarely discusses the attacks. However, analysts believe the two sides have a secret deal allowing the strikes.

And that is why ordinary Pakistanis despise their government!

The U.S. has shown no sign of easing the drone-fired attacks even as Pakistan is waging its own fight in the tribal areas....

Pakistani soldiers captured the hometown of the country's Taliban chief Saturday, a strategic and symbolic initial prize as the army pushes deeper into a militant stronghold along the Afghan border. An army spokesman said the Taliban were in disarray, with many deserting the ranks.

Shake, shake.

The 8-day-old air and ground offensive in the South Waziristan tribal region is a key test of nuclear-armed Pakistan's campaign against Islamist militancy. It has already spurred a civilian exodus and deadly retaliatory attacks.

The OFFENSIVES NEVER STOPPED!

Washington has encouraged the operation in the northwest because many militants there are believed to shelter al-Qaida leaders and are also suspected to be involved in attacks on Western troops in Afghanistan....

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTT!

Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas told reporters some of the fleeing Taliban have shaved their beards and cut their hair to try to blend in with the civilian population. Taliban spokesmen could not immediately be reached for comment.

What, the CIA spook away from his cell?

Three soldiers and 21 militants died in the most recent fighting in the region, the army said. Because it has blocked access to South Waziristan, independently verifying the data is all but impossible.

But the NEWSPAPER PRINTS the GOVERNMENT VERSION as if it WERE FACT!

The U.N. says some 155,000 civilians have fled the region. In Dera Ismail Khan, a gritty town near South Waziristan where many of those fleeing have congregated, the refugees reacted to the news of Kotkai's capture with suspicion.

Because THEY KNOW!

It is only STOO-PID AmeriKan newspaper readers who DO NOT!

"They are making tall claims of conquering Waziristan in a few weeks, but we think this is not doable even in five to six years," said Azam Khan Mehsud, who hails from the Makeen area.

Others noted that Pakistan had failed at least three times before to wrest the region from the Taliban and said they feared the damage the army might cause.

Think there is a CONNECTION, dumbkoffs!

"Years ago, the army suddenly started an operation and we all had to leave our area in the clothes we were wearing," said Abdul Samad Khan, 65, a farmer from the Spinkai Raghzai area. "When we returned to our area all our homes were either bombed, bulldozed or torched. Our animals were missing. Now imagine, if they come with more might, what they will do with our area."

Also Saturday, a military helicopter crashed in the Bajur tribal region, killing three officials, the army said, adding that the crash was an accident, not caused by any militant attacks.

Wow, the GLOBE SURE DOES CENSOR a lot!

"Pakistani Army gains ground in push to squash militants; Key fronts taken during offensive in South Waziristan" by Associated Press | October 26, 2009

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistani Army claimed advances in its eight-day-old offensive in a Taliban stronghold along the Afghan border yesterday, while the militants’ chief warned of more terrorist attacks around the country unless the military halted the assault.

Looks like
Blackwater will be busy, huh?

The army moved into South Waziristan vowing to crush a militant network it says is behind 80 percent of the suicide bombings that have rocked the country over the last three years. Washington has encouraged the operation because militants there are believed to shelter Al Qaeda leaders and attack Western troops in Afghanistan.

That sentence sure seems familiar.

The military announced Saturday its first major achievement, the capture of Kotkai.... The town lies on the way to the militant base of Sararogha, and an army statement yesterday said troops had captured two key fronts between Kotkai and the base. The statement said troops secured at least one other key front and fought 16 hours to capture a significant mountaintop.

Can you VERIFY and CONFIRM THAT, MSM?

The militants have fled Kotkai and are sporadically attacking troops with rockets from high ground, the military said. The most recent fighting in the region killed 15 militants and one soldier, the statement said. Independent verification of such reports is nearly impossible because the military has blocked access to South Waziristan.

But we will PUT IT IN THE PAPER anyway!

Most homes in Kotkai had been converted into bunkers and the town had hosted a training camp for suicide bombers, said army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas.

Pffft!

Over the past three weeks, the Taliban have carried out a string of bombings and commando-style raids across the country in response to the air and ground offensive. About 200 people have been killed in the onslaught.

Seeing as the agenda-pushing MSM keep flogging it I can only assume FALSE FLAG! Of course, the AIR BOMBINGS are NEVER CALLED an ONSLAUGHT, are they?

In a telephone call from an undisclosed location, Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud said, “We have not suffered any significant losses in Waziristan.’’

Who is this guy, Dick Cheney?

What, he wasn't answering his phone yesterday, MSM?

And WHY am I more inclined to believe the "Taliban" than my own lying MSM, readers?

Oh, right. Lies.

In the latest attack, a suicide bomber blew up a car packed with explosives on the highway near Jhelum city, about 60 miles south of Islamabad, police official Waseem Kausar said. He said the car was stopped by police, then one man fled and was caught while the other detonated the bomb, killing a patrol officer.

Isn't that BOMBERS, plural? They CAN'T EVEN get THAT RIGHT?

And they wonder why NO ONE BELIEVES THEM anymore?

The man now in custody told police they had planned to detonate the bomb in Lahore, Kausar said.

Whatever. Pfft!

And was I right or was I
right?

Just terrorists. What do they matter, right, MSM?
