Pakistan's Silent Bombing Campaign

"Militants assault police compounds in Pakistan" by Chris Brummitt, Associated Press Writer | October 15, 2009

LAHORE, Pakistan --Islamist militants launched coordinated assaults on three police compounds in Pakistan's second largest city Thursday, the latest in a wave of attacks by insurgents bringing the war to the country's heartland ahead of an expected offensive against their Afghan border sanctuary.

Related: Who Are the Terrorists of Pakistan?

The dramatic escalation in violence appears to be an attempt by the Taliban- and al-Qaida-led insurgency to seize the initiative from the army and deliver a warning to the U.S.-backed civilian government: Attack us in South Waziristan and we will fight back in your cities. It also discredits Pakistani claims that the Taliban were on the ropes after this year's military campaign in the Swat Valley....

"One has to wonder just how soon actual American soldiers in uniform will be seen on the streets of Pakistan. And that moment is coming, far sooner than most people realize." -- Wake the Flock Up

The American war effort is faltering amid spiraling violence eight years after the invasion. Thursday's assaults in Lahore added to a sense of crisis in this nuclear-armed country, now shaken by five major attacks by the Islamic extremists in the last 10 days that have killed more than 150 people -- including a 22-hour siege of army headquarters over the weekend.

It looks as if WtFU's diagnosis is correct.

At least 19 people were killed in the Lahore attacks, most of them security officers, along with nine heavily armed attackers. Gunmen in all three attacks carried dried fruit and apparently were preparing to dig in for a long siege, said Rana Sanaullah, the provincial law minister....

"Gunmen," huh?

One of the targets in Lahore was a training center for an elite police unit tasked with fighting militants. Many of the trainers there had received instruction from U.S. law enforcement officials under a little-publicized State Department program, officials said. Suspicion fell on the Pakistani Taliban but it made no public claim of responsibility.

That's a sign right there!

Are they "unsubstantiated" because they are "little publicized," you lying sacks of s.....

Geo TV reported on its Web site that that group had confessed, but did not attribute the information. Two officials said initial investigations showed Taliban from the Afghan border region and militants from the Punjab province were responsible. Such a link would be further evidence of increased coordination among militant groups, posing a new threat to the government....

And CUI BONO?

Lahore, some 350 miles from South Waziristan, is a bustling city known for its liberal arts scene. The city is home to many of the Pakistan's political and military elite and is the capital of Pakistan's most populated province, Punjab.

Oh come on then! This 10% insurgency attacked the heart of the establishment?

And there certainly can be nothing "liberal" about Islamics because of everything my Muslim-hating, Zionist War Daily has told me all these years.

The assaults began about 9 a.m. when a gunman wearing civilian clothes and a suicide vest burst into the offices of the Federal Investigation Agency, the national law enforcement body, and began shooting, Sanaullah said. The attacker killed two men and four civilians, but was slain by guards before he could detonate his explosives.

Soon after, four gunmen raided a police training school on the outskirts of the city, killing 11 officers and recruits before police killed all the attackers. A third team then scaled the back wall of a police commando training center near the airport. The attackers stood on the roof of a house, shooting at security forces and throwing grenades, said Lt. Gen. Shafqat Ahmad, the top military officer in Lahore.

Oh, I'm sorry, but this is TOO MUCH like MUMBAI!

The four assailants were killed, along with a police officer and a civilian, Sanaullah said. Virk said officers seized 27 unexploded hand grenades, 50 pounds of explosives and one light machine gun.

That is where my printed paper cut it.

Security officials said most of the gunmen were wearing suicide vests and blew themselves up when cornered.

"They were not here to live. They were here to die," said government official Sajjad Bhutta. "Each time they were injured, they blew themselves up," he said. "They were well trained to the extent they could jump over the walls and shoot well."

The attacks may have been timed partly to take advantage of a rift between the government and the army over a $7.5 billion U.S. aid package intended to symbolize U.S. support for the country's democratic transition after years of military rule, as well as its anti-terror fight. The army and opposition politicians say conditions attached to some of the military assistance constitute American meddling and threaten Pakistan's sovereignty. The Pakistani government and the U.S. deny this....

Yes, ISN'T IT ODD that AFTER the Pakistan Army beefed the SURGE of VIOLENCE came?

"The enemy has started a guerrilla war," Interior Minister Rehman Malik said. "The whole nation should be united against these handful of terrorists, and God willing we will defeat them."

Your army must be pretty crappy if it can't defeat a "handful" of "terrorists."

The Pakistani army has given no time frame for its expected offensive in the South Waziristan tribal region. It has reportedly already sent two divisions totaling 28,000 men and blockaded the area. Analysts say that with winter approaching, any push would likely have to begin soon to be successful.

"Militants make show of strength; Pakistan attacks suggest an alliance among insurgents" by Jane Perlez, New York Times | October 16, 2009

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - A wave of attacks against top security installations over the last several days has demonstrated that the Taliban, Al Qaeda, and militant groups once nurtured by the government are tightening an alliance aimed at bringing down the Pakistani state, government officials and analysts said....

They just want the attacks to stop.

The style of the attacks also revealed the closer ties between the Taliban and Al Qaeda and what are known as jihadi groups.... The cooperation has made the militant threat to Pakistan more potent and insidious than ever, they said.

Related: Who Are the Terrorists of Pakistan?

The government has tolerated the Punjabi groups, including Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, for years, and many Pakistanis consider them allies in just causes, including fighting India, the United States, and Shi’ite Muslims. But they have become entwined with the Taliban and Al Qaeda....

That does it! I can no longer take NYT propaganda!

I am SO GLAD I NEVER BUY, READ, or VISIT THEM anymore.

Also see: Taliban I Told You So

In a rare acknowledgment of the lethal combination of forces, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that a “syndicate’’ of militant groups wanted to see “Pakistan as a failed state.’’

“The banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, Jaish-e-Muhammad, Al Qaeda and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi are operating jointly in Pakistan,’’ Malik told journalists, pledging a more effective counterstrategy. In Washington, senior intelligence officials said the multiple coordinated attacks were a hallmark of operations influenced by Al Qaeda....

Which means YOU KNOW it was AL-CIA-DUH!!!!!

Did you know that Al Qaeda doesn't even exist?

That there is no Al Qaeda?

"13 Pakistanis killed as attack surge continues

PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Three suicide bombers, including a woman, attacked a police station in northwestern Pakistan yesterday, killing 13 people while army air strikes killed a dozen suspected militants in a Taliban stronghold ahead of an expected ground offensive.

Oh, a FEMALER, huh? PFFFFFFTTTTT!!!!

Standard practice when reading the AmeriKan MSM is the MORE OUTRAGEOUS the CLAIM, the MORE LIKELY it is a WAR-PROMOTING LIE!!!!!

The bombing in Peshawar was the latest in a surge of terrorist attacks over 11 days that has killed more than 150 people and underscored the power of the Taliban....

SO FAR SO GOOD, and SAME THEME, huh?

Yesterday's twin bombings targeted a heavily fortified police station in Peshawar, the main city in the northwest. One attacker drove a car filled with explosives to the main gate of the station as a motorcycle carrying a man and a woman pulled up behind it, city police chief Liaquat Ali Khan said. The woman jumped off and ran toward a housing complex where army officers live, while the man smashed the motorcycle into the car, which exploded into a huge fireball, Khan said. Police shot at the woman, who detonated explosives she was wearing. The blast destroyed part of the police station and a mosque next to it.

The 13 killed included three police officers, two women, and two children, said Gul Khan, a police official. Fifteen people were wounded. Insurgents have sent attackers wearing military uniforms to bypass security to carry out some recent raids. But the use of a female suicide bomber is rare here and could signal a new tactic by the extremists.

You know what? F*** YOU and YOUR HORSE S*** PROPAGANDA, MSM!

How long did you stay awake making this up?

Is the LIE SO EMBARRASSING you had to SCRUB THIS, Globe!?

In December 2007, what was believed to be the country's first female bomber blew herself up near a Christian school while apparently aiming for a military post in Peshawar. There were no other casualties.

Oh, ANOTHER FALSE FLAG!!!!

See: Pitting Pakistan's Christians Against Its Muslims

CUI BONO?

Yeah, THAT PROPAGANDA AIN'T WORKING 'cuz WE GOT NO TRUCK with MUSLIMS!!

The attack came a day after militants launched coordinated attacks on three law enforcement compounds in the country's second-largest city of Lahore, killing 19 people as well as the nine attackers. Also Thursday, an attack in Kohut killed 11 people near a government building, and a car bomb in Peshawar killed a small child at a housing complex for government employees.

Seeing as the MSM keeps repeating the narrative of these events, they must be false flags they are really proud of.

Initial investigations into the Lahore attacks show Taliban fighters from the Afghan border region and militants from Punjab province were responsible, authorities have said. That has fueled concerns that the Taliban is forging links with other militant groups in the country, an alliance that would vastly increase the threat to the U.S.-allied government.

Observers say Punjab's militant problem is most pervasive in its south. But Lahore provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah played down any such threat, saying the Taliban doesn't have "any authority in southern Punjab, and there is no need for any operation" against the group.

In claiming responsibility for another recent attack, the Taliban said one of its cells in Punjab had carried it out. The United States hopes a Pakistani army operation in South Waziristan, the Taliban's main stronghold, will help break much of the militant network that threatens Pakistan and U.S. troops across the border in Afghanistan.

Well, that is ALL FINE but LOOK at what GOT CUT and SCRUBBED from the WEB!

The Pakistani Army... has spent months softening targets there with airstrikes.

And the MSM has been SILENT on the MATTER!

Jets struck six militant positions in the region yesterday, killing 12 militants and wounding eight, a government and an intelligence official said on condition of anonymity. The two officials said they received the reports from agents in the field.

Well, HOW CAN YOU DOUBT THAT!

A mosque in Peshawar was destroyed by yesterday’s suicide bombing, the latest in a series of terrorist attacks in the past 11 days that have killed more than 150 people in Pakistan (Fayaz Aziz/Reuters)

PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Suicide bombers attacked a police station that was holding a number of high-profile militants for interrogation in Peshawar yesterday, killing at least 11 people in the latest of a series of bold attacks against security installations in Pakistan, officials said.

The wave of attacks has created new concerns that the country’s array of militant groups, including the Taliban and Al Qaeda, are pooling resources in a coordinated attempt to bring down Pakistan’s civilian government.

So HOW LONG UNTIL we are IN THERE, readers?

The strikes have grown more sophisticated in recent months and have been carried out against even the most heavily guarded areas....

Yeah, WHAT A STINK!

The officer in charge of the police station, however, said he believed that there was only one attacker, the bomber in the car, which he said rammed into a mosque at the police station. “How can a woman blow herself up when she is fired upon and hit by the soldiers?’’ asked the officer, Nisar Marwat....

And what pious Taliban attacks a MOSQUE?!

Jets struck six militant positions in the region yesterday, killing 12 militants and wounding eight, a government and an intelligence official said on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to media. The two officials said they received the reports from agents in the field....

At least the Globe lifted that from the AP piece.

"Pakistan starts critical offensive against Taliban" by Ishtiaq Mahsud and Nahal Toosi, Associated Press Writers | October 17, 2009

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan --Pakistani soldiers attacked militant bases in the main al-Qaida and Taliban stronghold along the Afghan border Saturday as the nuclear-armed country launched its most critical offensive yet against insurgents threatening its stability.

Do they make a point about that over anyone else?

Five soldiers and 11 militants were killed as the more than 30,000 troops deployed to the region met stiff resistance in parts of South Waziristan, a possible hide-out of Osama bin Laden and a base for jihadists bent on overthrowing the U.S-backed government....

So THAT is where the DEAD MAN is BURIED, huh, MSM?!!

As many as 150,000 civilians -- possibly more -- have left in recent months after the army made clear it was planning an assault. Most are believed to be staying in rented homes or with host families, but there are perhaps as many as 350,000 still in the region.

Related: Pashtun Hospitality

The United Nations has been stockpiling relief supplies in a town near the region, but authorities are not expecting a major refugee crisis like the one that occurred during an offensive this year in the Swat Valley, also in the northwest.

You mean, the ONGOING CRISIS that is NEVER REPORTED -- and which is being ADDED TO?!!!!

Makeen resident Ajmal Khan said that the people left in his town were terrified but could not leave their homes due to a curfew. "We heard sounds of planes and helicopters early Saturday. Then we heard blasts," Khan told The Associated Press by telephone. "We are also hearing gunshots and it seems the army is exchanging fire with the Taliban."

May Allah see them safely through all this.

Over the last three months, the Pakistani air force has been bombing targets, while the army has said it has sealed off many Taliban supply and escape routes. The military has been trying to secure the support of local tribal armies in the fight. At least 11 suspected insurgents were killed in the jet bombings, while a roadside bomb hit a security convoy, killing one soldier and wounding three others, two local intelligence officials said.

Well, if they were "suspected" and turned out not to be, then.... murder.

A military statement Saturday evening said four soldiers were killed and 12 wounded in exchanges in the region. It is nearly impossible to independently verify information from the region, which has little infrastructure or government presence.

And therefore, the MSM will just give you the government officials propaganda verbatim.

Foreigners require permission to enter the tribal areas, and few Pakistani journalists from other parts risk traveling there. Recent opinion polls show widespread public support for military action against the insurgents and there is also broad political backing, a change from a few years ago.

The LIES DO NOT HELP!!

"In October 2006 PBS’s Frontline program did an in depth report on the Taliban in Pakistan and how popular they are with the Pakistani people.

It should be noted that the Taliban there are receiving more support now than what they did when that program was originally aired.

--MORE--""

Yeah, because they are DEFENDING THEIR HOMES and FAMILIES!!!!

And WHY would the Pakistan government and army be WORRIED about LOSING PUBLIC SUPPORT then, huh, LIARS?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"The military is trying to avoid civilian casualties, worried about a public backlash"

See: Letting the Missiles Fly in Pakistan: Obama = War Criminal

Pakistan Losing Public Support Against Taliban

Yeah, the PEOPLE ARE FOR the SLAUGHTERING of THEMSELVES, yup!!

See why I NEVER BELIEVE A WORD of the MSM!!

Because THEY LIE!!!!!!!!!!!

But a long and bloody conflict -- and more terrorist attacks around the country -- could erode that support.

First of all BUT and COULD are NOT GOOD WORDS for a REPORT -- or so my college writing instructor told me! And how would MORE TERROR ATTACKS put people on the SIDE of TERRORISTS, huh?

Even if

(stop it! f***ing stop it with the s*** journalism!! EVEN IF???????????)

the army retakes the area,

(I'm sorry, but MY MSM TOLD ME they ALREADY HAD -- when the LAST OFFENSIVE was WINDING DOWN!!!)

the offensive by itself is unlikely to be death blow to the country's entrenched militants, who have formed networks across the country, including with groups once nurtured by the state as proxies against its arch enemy India....

So a WHOLE BUNCH of INNOCENT PEOPLE are going to be KILLED FOR NOTHING!!!!

All because the U.S. WANTS TO CONTINUE to PROMOTE the LIE of 9/11, etc!

And LOOK AT THEM WORK OVERTIME with the PROPAGANDA!!!!

Pakistan waged offensives in the Bajur and Mohmand tribal regions earlier this year that it hailed as successes. But militants are still active in both and there has been little reconstruction.

And STILL ABOUT 3 MILLION FORGOTTEN REFUGEES living in TENTS as the WINTER APPROACHES!

South Waziristan is also much farther that those two regions from the main northwestern city of Peshawar, meaning keeping the troops supplied will be much harder.... The military has said there will be no deals, partly to avoid jeopardizing gains won earlier this year when Pakistani soldiers overpowered the Taliban in Swat....

Even though they really did not.

Taliban spokesmen could not immediately be reached for comment Saturday.

Oh, they HAVE HIS PHONE # do they? What a STENCH!!!!!

Then GO FIND HIM! TRACK HIM DOWN!

I'm sure he is USING A CELL PHONE!!!!!!!

I think we KNOW WHO the "Taliban spokesman" is, readers. I only wonder why it has a Washington D.C. area code as a prefix!

Communications in and around the region appeared jammed, making it difficult to reach local residents or other witnesses. The U.S. is trying to rush in equipment for the offensive that would help with mobility, night fighting and precision bombing, a U.S. Embassy official told AP in a recent interview, speaking on condition of anonymity because the issue is politically sensitive.

In addition to night-vision devices, the Pakistan military has said it is seeking additional Cobra helicopter gunships, laser-guided munitions and intelligence equipment to monitor cell and satellite telephones.

You mean, like the kind the "Taliban" are calling in on?

Army planners are also considering the weather. Snows expected in the coming weeks could block major roads in South Waziristan.

But, but, but... GLOBAL WARMING!

At the same time, the winter could work to the army's advantage by driving fighters out of their unheated mountain hide-outs.

Ever here of a fire?

Yeah, they are ALL HIDING IN CAVES, got that?

PFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTT!!!
