"Pakistani leader worries about public relations war" by Robert Birsel, Reuters | May 15, 2009
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan will defeat the Taliban militarily but could lose the public relations war if it fails to help the hundreds of thousands of people displaced by the fighting, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani said yesterday.
Not too mention all the DEAD INNOCENTS!!!
From the blogs (because the MSM won't go there):
"Pakistani army flattening villages as it battles Taliban
The Pakistani army's assault against Islamic militants in Buner, in northwest Pakistan, is flattening villages, killing civilians and sending thousands of farmers and villagers fleeing from their homes, residents escaping the fighting said Monday.
"We didn't see any Taliban; they are up in the mountains, yet the army flattens our villages," Zaroon Mohammad, 45, told McClatchy as he walked with about a dozen scrawny cattle and the male members of his family in the relative safety of Chinglai village in southern Buner. "Our house has been badly damaged. These cows are now our total possessions."
Back to the MSM.
At least 830,000 people have fled their homes, joining more than 500,000 displaced by earlier fighting in the northwest. Visiting a camp for the displaced, Antonio Guterres, the UN high commissioner for refugees, said Pakistan needed massive international help to avert a tragedy.
Holy crap!!!! All for a LIE!!!
Gilani said the government planned a conference of aid donors but said he also expected the Pakistani people to help.
Isn't dying enough at your hands for AmeriKan lies enough?
Most political parties and members of the public support the offensive, despite widespread doubts about a close alliance with the United States in its campaign against militancy.
Read Fleeing the FATA to see what a repetitive lie we are being told about "public support" for the assault.
Opposition is likely to grow if many civilians are killed or if the displaced endure undue hardship.
Why would that be a problem when the populace allegedly hates the Taliban? Hell, we are liberating their asses, right?
The offensive was launched when President Asif Ali Zardari was in Washington assuring the United States his government was not about to collapse and is committed to fighting militants. Pakistani action against militants in its northwest is vital for US efforts to defeat Al Qaeda and stabilize Afghanistan.
Oh, so the INNOCENT PEOPLE of the FATAs must be SACRIFICED for THE ABOMINABLE 9/11 LIE?

JALALA, Pakistan - The Pakistani teenager said she recognized her distant relative almost instantly, even though his head had been severed and placed on his back, punishment the Taliban claimed was for spying.
The brutal discovery was just one example used by Kulsoom, a 16-year-old refugee, to describe life in the Swat Valley under Taliban control. As tens of thousands flood refugee camps to escape fighting between the army and militants, some are cautiously sharing their stories, detailing how extremists ran roughshod over cities and hamlets.
The Taliban's brand of Islamic law proved too harsh for many residents in the relatively conservative region of Pakistan, and it appears to be a major reason many of the displaced support the military's latest offensive.
Kulsoom, who comes from Swat's main city of Mingora and gave one name to protect her identity, said she quit a housekeeping job that helped support her family because of growing Taliban restrictions on women's movements. She said she was stopped on the street while wearing a regular veil and warned to wear an all-encompassing burqa instead. Then, there was the moment when she and friends found the body of her relative.
As her mother warned her to not say too much, the young girl, first declared, "I'm not scared of them!" then later begged for details about her to be limited for fear she would be identified.
Swat was once a popular tourist haven known as the "Switzerland of Pakistan" for its Alpine scenery. It began falling prey to the Taliban - many of them locals who signed on to support a radical Islamist called Maulana Fazlullah - about two years ago.
I know I am supposed to believe all this; however, after the fake video and the never-ending use of women as war propaganda (considering the source) I simply no longer believe anything they say -- especially about Muslims.
Sporadic military offensives and peace deals failed to push the militants out, leading the Pakistani army - under pressure from the United States - to last week launch what it described as a decisive operation against the militants in the valley. The operation there and in surrounding areas has displaced 800,000 people. Pakistan's army said offensives in the northwest have displaced 1.3 million people.
Hey, they are BETTER OFF in SQUALID REFUGEE CAMPS than living at home under 'Taliban" rule. Right?
The United States has praised Pakistan's latest offensive, saying Islamabad must eliminate havens used by militants to undermine the governments in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Yeah, that is the kind of stuff that embarrasses and shames me.
Swat is considered a key test partly because, unlike Pakistan's tribal regions, the valley is supposed to be under full government control. Yet, a few thousand militants have managed to hold the area hostage using fear....
Gee, thank God I live in AmeriKa where "terrorists" can't hold us in fear.
We have GOVERNMENT for that!!!!

Let's go BACK to the BLOGS again, shall we?
Apocalypse Now. Run for cover. The turbans are coming. This is the state of Pakistan today, according to the current hysteria disseminated by the Barack Obama administration and United States corporate media - from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to The New York Times. Even British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has said on the record that Pakistani Talibanistan is a threat to the security of Britain.
But unlike St Petersburg in 1917 or Tehran in late 1978, Islamabad won't fall tomorrow to a turban revolution. Pakistan is not an ungovernable Somalia. The numbers tell the story. At least 55% of Pakistan's 170 million-strong population are Punjabis. There's no evidence they are about to embrace Talibanistan; they are essentially Shi'ites, Sufis or a mix of both...."
Then how can they possibly get along.... unless what my Muslim-hating, war-promoting jewsmedia has been telling me is a.... yeah, funny how they weren't blowing up each others' mosques until we got there.
And you already know what I think about the "TALIBAN":
"Something of a catchall term for loosely affiliated insurgents without a singular command structure. Often, the Afghan government favors the phrase 'enemies of the state' (New York Times July 24, 2007)."
"The Taliban is growing and creating new alliances not because its sectarian religious practices have become popular, but because it is the only available umbrella for national liberation," says Pakistani historian and political commentator Tariq Ali. "As the British and the Soviets discovered to their cost in the preceding two centuries, Afghans never like being occupied."

And today, readers?
"More and more, people here look back to the era of harsh Taliban rule from 1996 to 2001, describing it as a time of security and peace."
Oh, oh, oh!!!! I'm so offended by the AmeriKan MSM and its bullshit!

And consider this:
"They sat in one girl’s home telling their story, their faces uncovered only because no man was present. But when Mohammed Matloob, the father of one of the girls, walked into the room, the other three quickly pulled their head scarves over their faces. His daughter, Nagina, 16, ordered him to leave the room, which he did, with a surprised shrug."
Aren't the children beautiful?
Tomas Munita for The New York Times Hameeda Sarfraz, in the dark burqa, teaches Islamic religious lessons to children in her village, about 50 miles north of Islamabad, Pakistan.
Oh, what LIES we have been told about Muslims by our Muslim-hating Zionist AmeriKan MSM, Americans!!!!!!
Honestly, I'm tired of the MSM lying? Aren't you, AmeriKa?
So how many lives were taken yesterday?
"Pakistan asserts French backing; Cites support for nuclear deal" by Francois Murphy, Reuters | May 16, 2009
PARIS - Meanwhile, Pakistan denied that it had an agreement with the United States under which it could request that Washington send surveillance drones over part of its territory to gather intelligence on militants there.
US officials said on Thursday that Washington had given Pakistan data on militants in the Afghanistan border area gathered by unmanned drones in Pakistani airspace under an agreement with Islamabad.
Confirming the existence of the program, US military officials said it allowed the Pakistani military to request missions over specific areas of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. But Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi denied that any such agreement existed.
Also yesterday, Pakistani forces killed 55 Taliban in the northwestern valley of Swat , the army said, and lifted a curfew to allow thousands more civilians to flee before troops assail the Taliban-held main town.
