EPA Running Off at the Mouth

And you know what it smells like, readers.

"Communities fear new US rules on storm runoff will be costly" by David Abel, Globe Staff | January 27, 2010

Advocates representing municipalities and public works directors worried the costs of complying with the new plan would be onerous, especially as towns and cities struggle with steep budget cuts....

Well, there is that old saying about
s*** rolling downhill.

Geoffrey Beckwith, executive director of the Massachusetts Municipal Association, said the regulations may be well intentioned, but he wondered how communities would pay for it without slashing other services or increasing local taxes....

Hey, THEY DON'T CARE!

Yeah, YOUR GOVERNMENT helping YOU OUT!

Maybe you could SHUT DOWN THAT POLLUTION-BELCHING MILITARY MACHINE and save us all a few swigs of agua, huh?

Curt Spalding, regional administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s New England office, said the new requirements “will have tangible benefits for these communities. Controlling pollution from stormwater will mean fewer days that beaches and shellfish beds are closed due to high bacteria levels, and a healthier environment for everybody to enjoy.’’

Oh, WE ALL WANT THAT!

As for the benefits, when it comes from a lying, agenda-pushing government, well....

Yeah, maybe they should be more worried about that rather than giving the airline industry a waver for orange water, huh? And they DO NOT SEEM TOO WORRIED about CANCER leaking into the Connecticut River!!!

But it is a "green government?"

"As more states go green, concerns rise on costs, benefits; Critics balk over required use of cleaning products" by Ryan J. Foley, Associated Press | February 7, 2010

MADISON, Wis. - More states are requiring schools and government buildings to use environmentally friendly cleaning products, raising debate about their costs and benefits.

Maybe the EPA could lift the secrecy surrounding the chemicals in those products, huh?

It's the second item!

After a burst of legislation last year, 10 states including Connecticut, Illinois, and New York require or encourage “green’’ floor waxes, window cleaners, and other products in schools, according to Green Seal Inc., a nonprofit that certifies the products. Similar bills are expected to be debated this year in at least five states.

Look, we are ALL for a CLEAN ENVIRONMENT (which makes the fart-misters such a frustrating distraction); however, I DON'T TRUST AGENDA-PUSHING GOVERNMENT or MSM anymore! LYING to you for PROFIT is NOT GOOD for YOU, Americans!!

Critics say that while the measures are laudable, states should not mandate which products schools and agencies must buy, especially if they increase costs for governments that are struggling financially.

Hey, WHAT DO THEY CARE?

The ones pushing the mandates don't have to pay.

Btw, why are we even worried about poison in the cleaning products? I thought our businesses cared about us and our well-being.

But supporters say the laws protect the environment and reduce the use of harsh chemicals that can harm workers’ and children’s health.

Now NO ONE WANTS THAT!

“The goal of the bill is to make schools and other public space less toxic and healthier for kids and the general public,’’ said Representative Cory Mason, a sponsor of a bill in Wisconsin....

I'm really not liking the state or government at all these days.

When do they really help you? Ever?

Citing the potential higher costs, groups representing schools and municipalities fought Mason’s original plan. A recent amendment would give them three years instead of one to comply and allow agencies to opt out if they could show their costs would increase.

“If the choice is between being mandated to buy a new vacuum cleaner or keep your elementary music teacher, I’m not sure that’s the direction we ought to be going,’’ said Dan Rossmiller, a lobbyist for the Wisconsin Association of School Boards.

By all means, get the vacuum and support some special interest.

In New York, schools that responded to a state survey said their costs went up 10 percent, on average, in the first year they complied with a 2005 cleaning law. But New York’s Office of General Services said successful programs reduce levels of cleaning chemicals, mold, and dust that cause asthma attacks, a top reason students miss school.

Caused by the POLLUTION in the AIR!!! How about attacking that?

Linda Chipperfield, a vice president for Green Seal, said Green Seal’s certified products use less packaging and cannot contain chemicals that cause cancer, kill aquatic life, or deplete the ozone layer.

The Wisconsin plan would apply to bathroom and floor cleaners, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, vacuum cleaners, and carpet extractors. Among its supporters is the powerful Wisconsin Education Association Council, which represents public school teachers and staff.

Hey, if they want it then let them have it.

After all, THEY are the ones WORKING THERE!

“The move to make sure we’re using the safest products in our schools is something parents expect and school staff certainly want for the kids,’’ spokeswoman Christina Brey said.

Yeah, we DO EXPECT IT from our state officials and authorities -- which is why we are SO OFTEN DISAPPOINTED here in AmeriKa!

But they are working on it:

"Cleanser makers told to come clean; Activists want ingredients list" by Jennifer Peltz, Associated Press | February 5, 2010

NEW YORK - The case comes amid growing concerns about potential toxins lurking in consumer goods, from the heavy metal cadmium in jewelry to the chemical bisphenol A in baby bottles.

Then why the big do about the cleaners?

While lawyers argued the cleaning-products case in New York, a Senate subcommittee in Washington held a hearing to examine current science on the public’s exposure to toxic chemicals.

Some studies have linked cleaning product components to asthma, antibiotic resistance, hormone changes, and other health problems. The industry’s major trade group, the Soap and Detergent Association, assails the research as flawed, says the products are safe if used correctly, and notes that cleaning can itself help stop the spread of disease....

Yeah, and if you piss in your hands its the same thing as washing them.

They think you will eat anything, huh?

Yeah, apparently they do:

"Obama proposes federal climate change agency" by Juliet Eilperin, Washington Post | February 9, 2010

WASHINGTON - The Obama administration proposed a new climate change agency yesterday to provide Americans with predictions on how global warming will affect everything from drought to sea levels.

Pfffffffffftt!

The initiative, modeled loosely on the 140-year-old National Weather Service, would provide forecasts to farmers, regional water managers, and business operators affected by changing climate conditions.

Why would you want to listen to people who are consistently wrong or lying?

It is being proposed as skeptics have become increasingly effective in attacking the credibility of global warming forecasts....

Yeah, the ClimateGate LIES and the HIDING of DECLINING TEMPERATURES has CRATERED their credibility!

And if you don't believe me just step outside your door this winter, readers.

Researchers are still trying to determine how to improve regional climate projections and pinpoint future changes in precipitation. Recently flaws have surfaced in some of the 2007 projections of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, including one that suggested Himalayan glaciers would all melt by 2035. This has led critics to question the value of climate computer models and predictions.

Don't they do a great job of covering up the truth, readers?

Update:

"Federal government directed to reduce energy

WASHINGTON - Saying he wants to lead by example on global warming, President Obama yesterday directed the federal government to reduce its emissions of heat-trapping gases by 28 percent in the next decade a goal that exceeds targets for the country as a whole.

Then stop lying first.

As the single largest energy consumer in the US economy, Obama says the government spent about $24.5 billion on electricity and fuel in 2008.

Of course, when they say government there they really mean YOUR TAX DOLLARS, America! Mostly military spending, too!

That's the cost of an empire built on lies.
