"US agency reviewing Calif. off-road race that killed 8" by Gillian Flaccus, Associated Press | August 17, 2010

LOS ANGELES — The US Bureau of Land Management is conducting an official review of a weekend accident at an off-road race in the desert that killed eight spectators.

Isn't this government supposed to be protecting you on our lands?

Why is EVERYTHING ALWAYS AFTER the fact!

Spokeswoman Jan Bedrosian said yesterday that the agency is also cooperating with other law enforcement agencies in the investigation and reviewing all off-road vehicle events in the California desert for safety....

Race promoter Mojave Desert Racing had a Bureau of Land Management permit for the event, which has raised questions about oversight and safety at the races on federal land....

Not with me. Not with this drug-using, porn-watching, negligent government.

Bureau of Land Management spokesman David Briery declined to comment in detail on steps the agency may be taking to ensure the safety of spectators in the accident’s aftermath or whether there was a possibility that criminal charges could be filed....

Against who?

The GOVERNMENT for ALLOWING THIS?

Thousands of people flock to the Mojave, northeast of Los Angeles, to ride dirt bikes, ATVs and buggies across the sand.

Huge crowds gather to watch dozens of competitors race their trucks along a 50-mile track through the desert, circling the course four times in a bid for the fastest time....

Off-roaders fear that the federal review could lead to further restrictions — or even spell the end — of their sport....

YUP!

No more races in the desert -- what with global warming and all.
