"Somali militants intensify attacks; Gaining strength in bid to overtake US-backed regime" by Sudarsan Raghavan, Washington Post | August 30, 2010
Ah! The CIA'S newspaper!
Straight from the horse's mou... well, try the other end.
MOGADISHU, Somalia — Somali militants linked to Al Qaeda are escalating their efforts to overthrow the US-backed transitional government in a region where Islamic radicalism is gaining strength.
Oh my God, what are we going to do?!!!!
Never have the radical Al Shabab militiamen attacked so near Somalia’s halls of power as they did last week, bringing them closer to their desire to create a Taliban-like Islamic emirate from which to export jihad abroad.

Just wondering why the TRAINERS are BEARDED WHITE GUYS, but.... sigh.
On Saturday, the militants briefly asserted control over the Muka al-Mukarama, the most strategic road in Mogadishu. That attack triggered an intense gun battle on the artery, which connects key government ministries and the presidential palace to the airport.
The fighting sent hundreds fleeing their homes and trapped men like Mohammed Ali, 22, in the crosshairs of war. Ali, a police officer, fired a volley of bullets at Al Shabab fighters crouching in an alley connecting to the road....
Whoever the hell they are!!!
Last week, during Islam’s holiest month of Ramadan, Al Shabab fighters have pressed on this oceanside capital. The militia has grown increasingly ambitious since orchestrating last month’s twin bombings in the Ugandan capital of Kampala that killed more than 70 World Cup fans.

WTF?
They said they were going to BOMB the DUTCH!
That's in the OTHER DIRECTION heading SOUTH!
And they were there the WHOLE MONTH and even played in the FINAL GAME!
You BLEW IT, CIA-Duh!!!
The militants have overtaken neighborhoods once controlled by the government. On Aug. 23, they vowed an all-out war to eradicate the government and drive out a contingent of 6,000 African Union peacekeepers that protects it.
The next day, two Al Shabab suicide bombers attacked the Hotel Muna near the presidential palace, killing 31 people, including members of Parliament and civil servants.
Time to check out.

And then Somalia disappears from my morning paper again.
I guess it is not that urgent after all -- until HEADLINES SCREAM of a TERRORIST TAKEOVER in Somalia -- as if that small prize would be worth a false flag event when we are already patrolling the shipping lanes thanks to the pirates.
Btw, WHATEVER HAPPENED to THOSE GUYS, huh?
