Quick Whisk Through Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. —  With the economy sour and voters complaining that leaders in Washington don’t listen, Wisconsinites are flirting with dumping their iconoclastic liberal senator Russ Feingold in favor of a politically untested Republican businessman, Ron Johnson.

They are not only flirting with it; they are serious about it.

The race is a strong indicator of the nation’s anti-incumbent mood, with a three-term senator struggling to win an election against someone whose biggest asset is that he’s not a politician.

The House is gone in a fair election.

Republicans nationwide are hoping to ride this anti-incumbent wave back into a majority in Congress. In the Senate, they need 10 more seats.

Six months ago, Johnson was the virtually unknown owner of an Oshkosh plastics company. He announced his candidacy in May and handily won the Republican primary in September. He has been filling the airwaves with campaign ads mostly financed from his own deep pockets.

Now, polls suggest he’s surging ahead. An average of recent surveys, calculated by the website Real Clear Politics, indicates Johnson is leading Feingold by nearly 10 percentage points, 52 percent to 43 percent, and threatening to take a seat that Democrats had considered safe....

They may well lose the Senate, too -- and should.

Feingold’s struggles “have more to do with the mood of the country than with Feingold himself,’’ said Charles Franklin, a political science professor at the University of Wisconsin.

Yes!!!

We elected Democrats four years ago to check Bush and end the wars,. Instead they gave him more spying power, the wars escalated, and they capitulated on the bank bailouts.

So we elected a Democrat president with a filibuster-proof majority -- and got a health tax we didn't want along with more escalation of war and the continuation of the bailouts we did not want.

Now, we all know it doesn't matter who is in charge in Washington.  The same interests are served no matter which party is in power; however, the American people are in so foul a mood and have been soooooooo DISAPPOINTED by the Democrats it is time for a change.

Of course, as we saw after 2008, change usually means making things worse.  It's change for changes sake.  Great game of illusion the rulers have going, huh?

Both candidates are competing for independent voters, a group that favored Feingold in his last election. Polls suggest that Johnson is winning self-identified independents this year.

It's over. Not much is going to change over the next two weeks.

Democrats had TWO YEARS to change things. It's TOO LATE now.

One of those independents, 24-year-old Nathan Lustig, a Web entrepreneur from Madison, voted for Feingold six years ago but said he might not in November. Lustig said he e-mailed Feingold this spring with a complaint about proposed investment rules in a bill, but received an off-topic response about student loans.

“It showed the lack of listening right now among the current people in Washington,’’ said Lustig.

Did he ever tap into the political pulse of this country!

John Sinitz, a 43-year-old Milwaukee lawyer, has voted three times for Feingold, but won’t this year....

Bye, Russ.

Your legacy will be the lone vote against the Patriot Act.

One Wisconsin Now Exposes Voter Suppression Plans Between Republican Party of Wisconsin, Americans for Prosperity, Tea Party Groups
Madison - A coordinated plot by the Republican Party of Wisconsin, Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin and organizations in the so-called Tea Party movement targeting minority voters and college students in a possibly illegal "voter caging" effort for voter suppression has been uncovered in evidence obtained by One Wisconsin Now, a statewide advocacy organization in Madison, Wisconsin.

Every election is full of fraud in Amerika.

That's why we get creeps like this in office:

"A Wisconsin prosecutor facing removal from office over accusations that he used his position to seek relationships with women will resign instead, his attorney said yesterday.

PORTAGE, Wis. — Floodwaters from the burgeoning Wisconsin River turned a rural neighborhood into a virtual island yesterday, cutting off dozens of homes from the outside world....

Extreme weather of another sort struck Los Angeles yesterday as a heat wave baked California. The city recorded an all-time record high of 113 degrees shortly after noon, the National Weather Service said....

I'm having a hard time believing even them these days.

Isn't that sad, readers? I can't believe my own government when it comes to the weather.

And the media sure acts like they want out of Wisconsin:

RACINE, Wis. — Emergency crews used a ladder truck to rescue 17 people trapped on a Ferris wheel in Racine, officials said yesterday....

Nicole Wagenaar, 17, told The Journal Times of Racine she cried a bit while she was stuck on the ride, but firefighters got her down safely.

In Delaware, State Police said part of a Halloween-themed carnival ride malfunctioned and flipped over on Saturday, injuring five people.

Three adults and two children had minor injuries after the accident at Frightland, a seasonal Halloween attraction in Middletown....

While we are in Delaware let's do some trick-or-treating:

"In Del. debate, O’Donnell dismisses past remarks

NEWARK, Del. — Republican Senate hopeful Christine O’Donnell last night dismissed comments she has made over the years on religious and social issues such as evolution, sexual abstinence, and homosexuality, saying they are not relevant to the campaign.

Squaring off against Democrat Chris Coons in a nationally televised debate, O’Donnell said Delaware voters want to hear about job creation and spending, not comments she made as a TV commentator long ago....

So is she a good witch or a bad witch?

I think the Globe must be reading my commentaries because their coverage has dribbled to a trickle.

They must UNDERSTAND that when the MEDIA APPARATUS ATTACK SOMEONE it ONLY MAKES the PUBLIC LIKE THEM MORE!

That is the STATE of AmeriKan politics today!

Coons, a county executive, contended that O’Donnell owes voters an explanation. He said her remarks are directly related to how she would serve in the Senate, citing Supreme Court nominations as an example of where they might come into play....

Just wondering the last time a Supreme Court nominee was confirmed by a single vote. Ever?

Don't you Democrats get tired of having the Supreme Court waved in your face every four years when both sides are making a mess of the place?

She's got a great costume!

And what is MOST DISAPPOINTING of ALL is seeing the "liberal-left" corporate media (such as MSNBC and talk radio's Thom Hartmann and Randi Rhodes) PILING ON HER yesterday.

Not only do they sound even worse than the "Tea Party" people they criticize, but they are ACTIVELY SERVING in the DISTRACTION of the CAMPAIGN!

Don't we have MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES in FRONT of US than what Chrissy O'Donnell was doing 20 years ago?
