Slow Saturday Special: Firing Off a Few Rounds

I've already reloaded, so....

"2 women shot at Va. community college inside mall" Associated Press, April 13, 2013

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. — A man shot and injured two women at a mall branch of a community college in Virginia Friday before he was subdued by police, a city official said.

The suspect was being interviewed by police Friday evening as law enforcement continued to clear the New River Valley Mall, said Christiansburg city spokeswoman Becky Wilburn. The mall in this town of about 21,000 in southwestern Virginia includes a branch campus of New River Community College. Christiansburg is less than 10 miles from Blacksburg, home to Virginia Tech.

Hmmmmm. We have another Bluebird, do we?

The suspect’s name was not released and a motive for the shootings was not known....

???????

Student Josh Brown said he was working on a computer near the classrooms when the shots were fired, he told The Roanoke Times.

‘‘I’ll be scared to come back to school,’’ he told the newspaper as he started to cry. ‘‘What’s wrong with people? Who would do something like this?’’

A Gladio-style operative for one. Or maybe the suspect was on prescription pharmaceuticals.

Forgive me for even asking, but did that really happen or is it just one more agenda-pushing psy-op of a hoax?

"2d man is jailed in Colorado slaying; Both may be tied to killing of state prisons chief" by Colleen Slevin  |  Associated Press, April 13, 2013

DENVER — Both of the suspected white supremacist prison gang members whose names surfaced during an investigation into the killing of Colorado’s prisons chief are behind bars as investigators try to determine whether a man recently paroled from solitary confinement acted alone in the slaying.

Colorado Springs authorities arrested Thomas Guolee, 31, around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Colorado Springs, according to El Paso County sheriff’s officials.

They have not released the circumstances or details of his arrest....

Investigators say the two are not suspects in the shooting death of Tom Clements, the Colorado Department of Corrections head, but their names came up during the investigation. Authorities last week told law enforcement officers to look out for both men, who had outstanding warrants unrelated to Clements’ death.

Evan Ebel is the only suspect that has been named in the killing of Clements, who was shot when he answered his front door March 19, and of Nathan Leon, a father of three who was shot March 17 while working as a pizza delivery man.

Ebel was later killed in a shoot-out with North Texas authorities. A pizza uniform and pizza carrier were found in Ebel’s car, leading investigators to look into whether Leon may have been killed for his uniform to help persuade Clements to open his door.

The gun Ebel used in Texas is the same one used to kill Clements. But Lieutenant Jeff Kramer of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that investigators still have not determined whether he was the one who killed Clements and whether anyone else may have been involved.

The investigation has included looking at Ebel’s possible contacts with members of the 211 Crew, a white supremacist prison gang with members both inside and outside prison.

"A loaded pistol, a tragedy, and a N.H. chief charged; Law bans leaving a gun where children can find it" by Peter Schworm  |  Globe Staff, April 12, 2013

BRENTWOOD, N.H. — Prosecutors, saying they want to send a message about gun safety, took the unusual step of charging a New Hampshire police chief with negligent storage of a firearm after a teenager used the chief’s unlocked service weapon to kill himself last month.

I'm tired of getting agenda-pushing messages from authority.

Jim Reams, the attorney for Rockingham County, said Friday that Danville Police Chief Wade Parsons left his loaded Glock handgun on top of a safe in a closet at his home but did not “take that final step” and lock it away. He then left to run errands. While he was out, the 15-year-old son of Parsons’ girlfriend turned the gun on himself....

Look, I'm not for leaving guns lying around, either.

See what happens when you give away guns?

Of course, it's okay to arm Syrian assets in an attempt at regime change.

In this small town of long wooded roads in the southeast corner of New Hampshire, Parsons has been chief since 1995 and is a popular and respected figure.

As news of the death spread and shocked acquaintances of the boy flooded a Facebook page in his honor last month, condolences also came to the chief.

Shawn O’Neil, a selectman in Danville, said Friday that Parsons was devastated by the boy’s suicide and that the charges “won’t bring him back.”

“Nothing the state of New Hampshire can do can match the punishment he’s giving himself,” he said. “He’s a kind, gentle man.”

O’Neil said that police chief is an elected position in town. O’Neil said it was not for him to say whether the charges were appropriate, but noted that if the teenager had been a year older, he would have been considered an adult under the negligent storage statute.

“It’s a lot different than leaving a gun on the table around a 5-year-old,” he said.

Still, some said that the charge showed that no one is above the law, and that carelessness with guns can have terrible consequences.

Not true. Big banks, multinational corporations, and certain wealthy individuals have become too big to jail, and war criminals who tell lies, invade other nations, and validated torture haven't been charged.

“The law’s the law, and we’re not exempt,” said Mike Sielicki, police chief in Kensington, N.H., and an officer of the state’s police chiefs association. “You have to store your firearm safely.”

Reams said the case was handled without regard to the chief’s position. He said public pressure to bring charges did not play a role in his decision....

Why do AmeriKan officials and authorities just flat-out lie, folks? Everyone knows this whole gun-control push has factored into the attention in the case.

Reams said it was the first time he had brought such a charge in his tenure as a prosecutor.

Because of public pressure.

I guess I can see why he gets a eulogy in my newspaper.

Parsons will be summoned to court on the violation, which carries a maximum $1,000 fine. The charge is not criminal.

Parsons, who kept his job, could not be reached for comment Friday. He cooperated fully with investigators, Reams said.

Reams said the boy’s death was ruled a suicide, and said there were no obvious signs beforehand that the teenager was troubled....

Just wondering if he was on any prescription pharmaceuticals.
