Grieving in Egremont

"$3,000 approved for soldier’s tribute in Egremont

Egremont residents have approved a permanent tribute to a native son who died in Iraq. Town Meeting voters in the Berkshire County town approved this week the spending of $3,000 to build a monument and plaque to honor US Army Chief Warrant Officer Stephen Wells. The Berkshire Eagle said the tribute will be placed on the Village Green in South Egremont. Wells, a 1993 graduate of Mount Everett Regional School, was killed in February 2004 in a helicopter crash."
