"Trooper's cruiser struck on I-93 as he investigated an accident; Police charge driver with OUI" by Jillian Jorgensen, Globe Correspondent | October 20, 2008

Just one day after a state trooper investigating an accident was hit by an allegedly drunk driver, another trooper's empty cruiser was struck early yesterday by a driver accused of operating under the influence, police said.

The driver, identified as Sharrif L. Green, 27, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a vehicle, and he received a speeding violation and a marked lanes violation.

Less than an hour after the trooper's car was rammed yesterday, a four-car accident occurred along the same stretch of the expressway. At 2:52 a.m., an allegedly impaired driver rear-ended one car, starting a chain reaction, Anderson said.

That driver, identified as Dale A. Weaver Jr., 25, of Randolph, was charged with operating under the influence, negligent operation of a vehicle, and failure to use care in stopping. --more--"
