How's Your Health Tax?

Just keeping you updated, readers.

The papers are not lying when they say expect a law by the end of the month; talked to a fella at basketball the other night and he said the company is raising insurance premiums again in February -- after having gotten the new year's rates in December. I told him it was a sure sign the health tax is going through, even though no aid will be forthcoming for YEARS!

"Major subsidies under the bills won’t start flowing to consumers until 2013 at the earliest. Even with federal aid many families would still face substantial costs."

Oh, the MANDATORY PURCHASE REQUIREMENT BEGINS NOW!!!

Why Obama Wants A Health Care Bill This Year

Yeah, that is what it is all about, America.

"Democrats plan to fast-track final health care bill; Tactic designed to stymie GOP opposition" by David Espo and Erica Werner, Associated Press | January 5, 2010

If Republicans did this DemocraPs would be squealing!

They wouldn't try to block it like the Repugs, but they would be spewing fart mist about it!

WASHINGTON - To try to speed final passage and get the bill to President Obama’s desk, House and Senate Democrats intend to bypass traditional procedures when they negotiate a final compromise on health care legislation, officials said yesterday, a move that will exclude Republican lawmakers who have vowed to block the bill.

Usually, a House-Senate conference committee would try to reconcile hundreds of differences between the bills passed by each chamber.... Instead, Democratic aides said the final compromise talks would essentially be a three-way negotiation involving top Democrats in the House and Senate and the White House, a structure that gives unusual latitude to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California.

Translation: It is going to be another BEHIND CLOSED DOORS RAM JOB, America!

And how will Pelosi get a crap bill through the "liberal" House?

THREATEN MEMBERS, that's how!!

FLASHBACK:

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been trying to pressure some of those Democrats to switch their votes.... California Democratic Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey says the White House has also threatened to pull support from freshman anti-war Democrats who vote no on the bill.... In the crosshairs of the big guns at the White House and on Capitol Hill are anti-war freshmen legislators and the movement to hold those responsible for torture accountable.

In funding the wars, the White House has been able to rely on strong GOP support to marginalize the anti-war Democrats who have pledged to vote against continued funding (as 51 Democrats did in May when the supplemental was first voted on). But the White House is running into trouble now because of Republican opposition to some of the provisions added to the bill (and one removed), meaning the pro-war Democrats actually need a fair number of anti-war Democrats to switch sides. In short, the current battle will clearly reveal exactly how many Democrats actually oppose these wars. And, according to reports, the White House and Democratic Leadership have the gloves off in the fight:

Rep. Lynn Woolsey of California, a leader of the antiwar Democrats, said the White House is threatening to withdraw support from freshmen who oppose the bill, saying “you’ll never hear from us again.” She said the House leadership also is targeting the freshmen. “It’s really hard for the freshmen,” she said. “Nancy’s pretty powerful.”

Now you know how things get done in our extortocracy, 'er, democracy -- and why they don't listen to the American people.

Bypassing a formal conference committee enables Democrats to omit time-consuming procedural steps in the Senate and prevents Republicans from trying to delay the final negotiations. The unofficial timetable calls for passage by the time Obama delivers his State of the Union address, probably in early February. The plan is to skip the formal meetings, reach an agreement, then have the two houses vote as quickly as possible. A 60-vote Senate majority would be required in advance of final passage....

That is when the STINK ALARM goes of and I SAY STOP!!!!!

--more--"

Btw, ANYONE KNOW what they will be VOTING ON?

I mean, THEY NEVER READ the stuff (couldn't in the amount of time given), so HOW COULD THEY KNOW? They are TOLD how to VOTE by LEADERSHIP -- and WOE to those who buck Pelosi!!!

"Democrats focus on health consensus; GOP criticizes closed-door talks to reconcile bills" by Ricardo Alonso-Zaldivar, Associated Press | January 6, 2010

WASHINGTON - Congressional Democrats and President Obama began work in earnest yesterday on difficult issues still standing in the way of their national health care overhaul after months of tortuous debate. Topping the list: how to help Americans pay for insurance premiums.

Republicans weren’t invited to the talks, and they complained that the Democrats intended to deliberate behind closed doors, though lawmakers often do so in the final stages of such complex legislation.

What is with ALL the SECRECY, huh?

I thought the DemocraPs PROMISED TRANSPARENCY!!!

Just goes to show you that America is MORE CONSERVATIVE than people think!

Also, the head of C-SPAN, the nonpartisan public affairs network, called for letting the sun shine in on the discussions - as Obama once promised.

I've already crosed of all the promises as broken.

Less than a year in office and I've given up on him.

Democratic leaders reacted defensively to the criticism.

That USUALLY HAPPENS when the TRUTH is SPOKEN!!!

“We will continue to keep the American people informed, as we have in the earlier stages,’’ said Representative Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, mentioning that hundreds of hearings and town hall meetings have been held.

I'm tired of pfffft-talking DemocraPs!

Turning Healthcare Into Hate

The Second Face of Healthcare Hate

I expected better, Dems.

But as a candidate, Obama pledged he would be “bringing all parties together, and broadcasting those negotiations on C-SPAN so that the American people can see what the choices are.’’

That has not occurred, and C-SPAN released a letter yesterday that its CEO, Brian Lamb, sent last week to congressional leaders. “Now that the process moves to the critical stage of reconciliation between the chambers, we respectfully request that you allow the public full access, through television, to legislation that will affect the lives of every single American,’’ Lamb wrote.

Congress' response: (signed)

Obama wants to sign sweeping legislation to extend insurance coverage by the time of his State of the Union speech, expected early next month.

Get out the
vaseline, America.

Then he will tell you he got everything he wanted.

Well, when you wanted nothing....

White House officials say the separate House and Senate bills have 95 percent in common. But pressure for a final bill means Democratic congressional leaders are likely to bypass formal negotiations as they reach for a deal.

If it were Repuglicans....

In the negotiations, House Democrats face the virtual certainty that they will not get the government-run insurance plan liberals had sought, a point Speaker Nancy Pelosi acknowledged. “There are other ways to do that, and we look forward to having those discussions,’’ she said.

It's not champagne, either, America. It's s***!

Pelosi met yesterday with senior Democrats to go over the major issues, and later met with Obama at the White House, with Senate majority leader Harry Reid joining by telephone.

In exchange for losing the federal “government option,’’ House Democrats say they intend to press the Senate to make premiums more affordable for Americans. The outcome of the talks could mean savings of hundreds of dollars for families buying coverage through new insurance supermarkets created by the legislation.

Or it COULD MEAN HIGHER PREMIUMS and TAXES!!!!

Major subsidies under the bills won’t start flowing to consumers until 2013 at the earliest. Even with federal aid many families would still face substantial costs.

Yeah, you WILL NEED whatever crap coverage they offer because DID YOU EVER GET REAMED, America!!!!

Ready for some MORE BETRAYAL, Obamamaniacs (what few are left)?

"Obama may back proposal to tax high-end health care plans" by Erica Werner, Associated Press | January 7, 2010

WASHINGTON - President Obama signaled to House Democratic leaders yesterday that they will have to drop their opposition to taxing high-end health insurance plans to pay for health coverage for millions of uninsured Americans.

Yup, the SENATE REIGNS SUPREME!!!

In a meeting at the White House, Obama expressed his preference for the insurance tax contained in the Senate’s health overhaul bill, but largely opposed by House Democrats and organized labor, said Democratic aides who spoke on condition of anonymity because the meeting was private. House Democrats want to raise income taxes on high-income individuals instead but recognize that they will have to bend on that and other issues so that Senate majority leader Harry Reid can maintain his fragile 60-vote majority support for the bill.

That is why I no longer respect liberals.

Pelosi and four committee chairmen met with the president as they scrambled to resolve differences between sweeping bills passed by the House and Senate before Christmas. The aim is to finalize legislation in time for Obama’s State of the Union address early last month.

Don't you mean NEXT month, newspaper?

Sigh.

Despite the dispute over the payment approach, Pelosi emerged from the meeting expressing optimism that the House and Senate leaders are “very close’’ to an agreement.

Well, when you THREATEN PEOPLE and GET WHAT YOU WANT, yeah, you tend to be "optimistic."

Obama is taking a more direct role than ever, convening Oval Office meetings Tuesday and yesterday of House Democratic leaders. Under a fast-track process worked out with Obama, lawmakers are bypassing the usual negotiations between the two chambers. Instead, the House will work off the Senate’s version, amend it, and send it back to the Senate for final passage.

Yeah, and if Reugs did that, blah, blah.

And the PROCESS STINKS, America!!!

The bills passed by the House and Senate both would require nearly all Americans to get coverage and would provide subsidies for many who can’t afford the cost, but they differ on hundreds of details.

Translation: NO ONE is going to KNOW what is IN THIS MONSTROSITY!!!!

But you BETTER VOTE FOR IT!

You wouldn't STAND in the way of HISTORY and a DEAD MAN'S DYING WISH, right?

Among them are whom to tax,

[Me and you, readers]

how many people to cover,

[I thought it was going to be everyone due to mandates?]

how to restrict taxpayer funding for abortion,

[Liberals going to choke that one down, too, huh?]

and whether illegal immigrants should be allowed to buy coverage in the new markets with their own money.

Own money?

From where, the JOB they are NOT SUPPOSED to HAVE?

So WILSON was RIGHT, huh?

"Kerry returns to MGH for 2d hip replacement

The 66-year-old Kerry decided to have the operation just after the holiday season to ensure that “he’d be back on his feet for the legislative period later this month,’’ Kerry spokesman David Wade said. That could include a vote on a national health care plan that will require all 60 Democratic senators....

Kerry’s wife, Teresa Heinz, is scheduled to resume breast cancer treatment this month....

Hey, I don't wish that on any woman.

Yeah, I am feeling insulted just a bit.
